This is a busy book , it will keep you guessing , there were a few question I had about the ending of this one, How did her mom know what had happened? Did I miss something, and did the ex-husband know who really was behind everything? but all in all I enjoyed the book, Alice Feeney will keep you reading that for sure.

Who hasn't been emotionally scarred at one point during their high school years. It's that developmental stage in our life when love and belonginess is a need. Enters a high school where cliques are common. Negative peer pressure and well those angsty teenage years. Peek into the lives of characters that are relatable and you would actually symphatize to the protagonist/antagonist in the story. This is told in a circular story alternating from the present over 30s characters to the younger version of themselves.

As an avid fan of thriller/mystery genres. I would say that this book was one that the killer is someone that I would not guess. The author did a good job in keeping the suspense and if you think that you already know who the killer is.. that is when the author gives another side of the story. I would not want to put in some spoilers, but I tell you the killer is someone who you would not suspect.
I love it. I did not put down the book until I can finish it. So far, this has been one of those mystery books that I can say that left me impressed.

Thanks to flatiron books and netgalley once again for giving me an arc of this book.

His & Hers was another dark, twisted tale from Alice Feeney and kept me guessing until the last chapter. The three points of view from Him, Her, and the unknown was excellent and added to the build up of confusion and suspense.

TW: My one qualm with this book was the very graphic scene involving the gang rape of a teenage child. I felt that was handled in a gratuitous manner and did not add to the story, other than gruesome shock value.

Alice Feeney has done it again. This book is super intense and twisted. I will say, the first 30% of this book is pretty painful and I wanted to give up. Halfway through the book it was crazy good.

I love when stories give you two to three different perspectives. His, hers and the real story. There are several twists that I did not see coming.

Caution: there is a pedophile teenage gang rape that is pretty disturbing.

Thanks Netgalley and publisher for my eARC in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC of His & Hers. What a great read!! I love the premise of the story being told by His, Hers & the unidentified character's points of view. Could not put it down!

I loved reading this book! The premise is simple: A woman is found dead and Jack is sent to investigate because he's de detective in charge of that area. Trouble is: he also spent the night with the dead woman. Anna is a reporter sent to the scene to cover the gruesome news, but she is not comfortable at all because Jack is her ex husband, and the dead woman used to be her friend back in high school. When another of her high school friends turns up dead too, it's clear someone they know is the killer.

This book is engaging from the first page and it never eases up. The book is constantly being narrated by Jack and Anna, with a few chapters being narrated from the killer's point of view. Even though I guessed the identity of the killer a before the big reveal, it was still SO well done! I had another suspect in mind before and yes, it would have worked, but the real identity of the killer was 100 times better! I will absolutely read another book by Alice Feeney, this was great :)

My favorite Alice Feeney book to date. My only mistake was to read the last quarter of the book late at night where it basically scared the wits out of me. With plenty of of misdirection, possibly unreliable narrators, some truly horrible characters, and squirm inducing descriptive scenes, this book draws you in and keeps at it until its satisfactory conclusion. Told in alternating chapters and backstories, I really wasn't sure who the guilty party was but I absolutely had to find out. Highly recommend for those that love a good suspense thriller.

My copy was provided by Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Believe all the hype surrounding Alice Feeney’s latest thriller! She is my go to author for a crazy twist and keeping you on your toes as a reader. This one was unique as there are three perspectives; His, Hers, and the unknown murderer. This one kept me guessing until the end and I felt like I couldn’t trust ANY of the characters! I had SO many theories about this one.

Exciting! Incredible!

This book is everything you thought it would be and more. I usually don't like to read books that are very 'hyped' up but I am so glad I made an exception for this one. It was a gem. I never knew what was going to happen next and I certainly never wanted to put the book down. This isn't a book you will want to know a whole lot about going into, so I'm not going to give a whole lot away. Just read it!

Great story that kept me guessing until the very end. Several times I thought I knew, but still had it wrong. I did not like the descriptive animal cruelty and had I known about it I probably would not have read the book. Thank you publisher and netgalley for this arc in exchange of an honest review.

Bestselling author Alice Feeney delivers a taut and enthralling suspense with HIS & HERS—her latest about a newsreader and a detective who investigate a brutal murder in the British village where they both grew up.

We first meet BBC news presenter Anna Andrews—perfectly polished on the outside but falling apart under the weight of a recent tragedy. Anna returns to Blackdown, the small town she once fled to forget her painful past, and now the scene of a murder she must cover.

Anna crosses paths with Detective Jack Harper, who fears he’ll become the primary murder suspect should anyone discover his connection with the victim.

Anna and Jack soon realize something far more sinister, calculated and personal is afoot—someone is dredging up long-buried secrets and one of them may be next to die.

Through his and hers alternating chapters, we gradually learn more about Anna and Jack—their past, their ugly secrets and flawed intentions. We also have an unnamed third narrator whose chilling first-hand account amps the desire to figure it all out. But ever the queen of misdirection, Feeney pens a narrative that makes you think you have it all figured it out only to have the rug pulled from under you, time and time again. I couldn’t stop reading.

Dark, tense, unsettling and punctuated by shocking twists, Feeney once again delivers the thriller everyone will be talking about this summer.

This book was so well done. The two perspectives were told so differently and I loved the contrasting viewpoints of the story, and then that third POV appeared and wow! I loved the writing, the characters were vivid and I had NO idea where this was going or who did it. It was suspenseful until the very end. Well done!

I ended up DNFing this one at 67% I ended up losing interest as I was reading this one. I thought I was going to love this one.

After absolutely LOVING Sometimes I Lie I was really exited to read this one! I dove into it and immediately loved the back and forth of him and her and the creepy weird voice in between.

By about 20% in I had already figured out whodunit and another major twist. Call it the curse of the thriller reader, or just me trying too hard to figure it out - I just couldn't really get into it too much after that. I felt like I figured out most of the twists and it was a bit of a struggle for me to wade through all the red herrings so obviously and blatantly planted throughout.

I missed the whip smart shock from Sometimes I Lie and maybe I craved it too much and was expecting the same - but if you look close enough - this one was pretty predictable.

Even though I can sometimes appreciate a good twist even if I figure it out - this was just pretty far fetched in my opinion. I'm not one who looks or needs "realistic" twists or plot in thrillers - but it kinda was a bit silly and didn't make much sense.

I do appreciate the effort and intricacies of the plot, for sure though! And I will absolutely still read everything she writes... just was a bit of a letdown for me.

This book blew my mind. The clues in the writing were so cryptic that just when I starting thinking I knew who was behind the evil, something would make me swerve in a whole different direction in my thinking.

Seriously, I got to the point where I thought for sure everyone had to be guilty of all these horrible murders. It just didn't make sense—they all had incentive, motive, and guilt. I really want to go back and re-read this book. Knowing now 'whodunit', I know I would interpret the clues differently. It would be interesting to experience it again in a whole new light.

His & Hers is a definite page-turner as you will race to the end as you try to figure out it for yourself. I highly recommend it but make sure that you have plenty of time to read it because you are not going to be able to stop once you start.

I missed the Tues pub day for what will most likely be my 𝘧𝘢𝘷𝘰𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘦 𝘢𝘶𝘥𝘪𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘳! The narrators were amazing, plus for the first time (for me) one of the voices (the killer) was distorted which was so creepy! ⁣

I’m going to be purposefully vague about plot details because this is definitely one that the less said the better. There’s a murder (then more) but that is just the beginning of what becomes a mystery combined with what I thought was 𝙝𝙞𝙜𝙝 𝙡𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡 𝙥𝙨𝙮𝙘𝙝𝙤𝙡𝙤𝙜𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙨! THIS is what a twisty plot looks like friends, I had no idea what was going on, who was telling the truth and “whodunit” and it was so much fun to find out. I highly recommend this on audio if you can get it, if not this should still be on your summer must read list.

Actual rating: 3.5 stars

This was a pretty good thriller overall! I do think I prefer this to Sometimes I Lie from this author. This book had some unexpected parts to it, so I definitely appreciated that. Both of our main characters are unreliable narrators, and I didn't particularly like either of them. However, I do feel sympathy for them! This does use a bit of the trope of a main character drinking excessively (which I don't love), but this wasn't too prevalent throughout the story. The beginning was a little slow for me, but it definitely picks up.

Overall, this was an interesting thriller that had some unexpected storylines! Content warnings for abuse, rape, bullying, SIDS, animal cruelty, blackmail/child pornography

I won this in a giveaway through the publisher - thank you! All opinions are my own.

If you haven't read a book by Alice Feeney yet do not miss this one!
It's an addictive suspenseful thriller told through multiple points of view that delivers everything you expect from a gripping story.
Feeney always writes brilliant characters & story lines with fast paced plots that I always seem to love getting lost within the pages of.
I don't want to give anything away so I'll just say if the synopsis peaks your interest you're not going to want to miss reading this one.
His & Hers is another fabulous example of why Alice Feeney is one of my favorite authors.

His & Hers is a fantastic psychological thriller.

Anna Andrew's has the perfect job, and she will do ANYTHING to keep it and I mean anything.

Jack, Anna's ex husband is working a murder case that Anna is sent to cover as a News journalist.

There are a lot of twists and turns and more than one side to this incredibly written story.

Highly recommend !

I mean, what is there to say about His & Hers by Alice Feeney that hasn't been said already? This book is CRAZY, and if you are going to consume it in one way that has to be the audiobook. Forget reading this one, the audio is probably the best one I've ever listened to and brought so much to the story that I can't even imagine just reading printed words on a page. Richard Armitage and Stephanie Racine are the narrators and Armitage is now one of my favorite narrators thanks to this book. Also, the mysterious killer's voice on the audio is too good/creepy to miss!

As for the book itself, I thought the pacing was relatively slow, but it was interesting enough to keep me going and I was dying to know what was going to happen next. At first I thought it was going to be a bit of a police procedural because of DCI Jack Harper's viewpoint, but I didn't really find that to be the case. The story is more about the characters and trying to find out whodunnit, but not in a detective/procedural way. Most of the excitement really comes from Anna's perspective, but I still loved the dual narrators along with the addition of the killer's viewpoint.

His & Hers does have a couple of very disturbing scenes that come towards the end, so this isn't going to be a read for just anyone. Despite the triggers I thought it was just so well done, and I loved Feeney's writing style plus the format of the book in general. The end hit me like a bus, and I did NOT see any part of it coming. Feeney did an amazing job of throwing suspicion on lots of different characters and I had very little figured out.

Read His & Hers if you listen to audiobooks because frankly if you don't like audiobooks I just don't think you're going to enjoy it as much as you have the potential to with the audio. I haven't read any of Feeney's other books yet, but I will definitely be doing that now, most likely via audio. This book is an experience and I highly recommend it to my crime/thriller lovers!

Thank you to Libro.fm and the publisher for both my advance listening copy and advance review copy. All opinions and thoughts are my own.
