I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This book was so difficult to put down - the story moves quickly and the characters are well developed (they could be your neighbors).

The plot is convoluted, pay attention or you will miss important clues. This is not a cozy mystery!

I look forward to reading more by this author.

The first thing you need to know is I read this book in under 24 hours, and very few books have been able to hold my attention like that lately. Social media: ignored. House cleaning: ignored. Work: begrudgingly completed just so I could get back to reading. Going into a thriller, your hackles are always up looking for clues and suspicions, but I still didn't put everything together for this one.

About 80% through, the bomb drops, and honestly, that's my favorite type of thriller. I don't want a cliffhanger ending, I want shit to hit the fan with enough time left for me to see the fallout. Wendy Walker definitely delivers with this one and I recommend picking it up if you're looking to be sucked into a psychological thriller.

I've been a huge fan of Wendy Walker since reading Emma in the Night and ever since, I've read all of her books and loved them. Don't Look Back was one of my most anticipated reads of 2020 and it didn't disappoint! What a twisty, suspense-filled book! I started it mid-afternoon and was unable to put it down until I finished it late at night because I was so caught up in this captivating novel! I was hooked from the very beginning by this story told in dual perspectives by Molly, who has gone missing, and her daughter Nicole. This is a stunningly well-written psychological suspense thriller that is haunting with its on the edge of your seat tale! My new favorite book by Walker and one that you can't miss! Highly recommended!

Thank you Netgalley and St.Martin's Press for the ARC.

Wow! I always look forward to reading a Wendy Walker book. She’s quickly becoming a one click author for me, he books are always so good. So well written and the story so well thought out and intertwined. It’s always so amazing to me how an authors mind works and how they can. They can connect all of these characters together.

For me, this book was a quick read. It took me a little under 2 days to read. And that’s on.y because I had to work and sleep in the midst of reading it! I’m not going to mention anything about the story, it’s best going in blind so nothing is ruined. But I would definitely say grab a copy because I really enjoyed it!

This book started out so strong. I loved the back and forth narration, switching between a clearly depressed daughter and a grief-stricken mother. The story felt fast paced even though the characters were moving slow. I liked Alice, and I like the relationship (manipulation?) of Alice and Molly.

However, Don't Look for Me lost me as the various male characters were introduced. I don't know if the author meant to be vague about all of them, but between Reyes, Kurt Kent, Chief Watkins, and Roger Brooks, I could not keep them straight. They felt interchangeable, both in their behavior and their roles.

The ending did not help to bring me back around. I did not care for the reintroduction of a character; it did not fit the narrative that had been building throughout.

Overall, this was a quick read but not one that I would put in the top of my list for 2020. I received an advance copy. All thoughts are my own.

Losing a child is never easy. For Molly – the pain of losing a child is magnified by the knowledge of how her daughter’s death occurred. The guilt from the loss is devastating, and Molly is certainly punishing herself for the tragedy. Not only does Molly feel at a loss, but her family is breaking apart. Molly’s husband is possibly having an affair, her daughter is not speaking to her, and her son acts as though Molly doesn’t even exist. Some days, Molly doesn’t even know how to go on.

With the weight of the world on her shoulders, Molly wanders off the beaten path during a storm. As she runs out of gas, Molly finds herself walking down the highway reflecting on her life. With rain pelting Molly at every step, there is relief when a passing vehicle stops to offer assistance. What Molly doesn’t realize is just how crucial that decision would become.

Don’t Look For Me is a thriller from author Wendy Walker. I have to admit, this is the first time I have read Walker’s writing. Rest assured, it will not be the last. This plot twisting thriller kept me invested in Molly and her circumstances. What I didn’t expect was to become invested in Nicole – Molly’s daughter – as she tries to navigate the murky waters surrounding her mother’s decisions that fateful night. With so many twists and turns, I couldn’t put this book down. I was fully engulfed in the mystery, controversy and ultimate end of Molly’s journey. How does it all end? Well ….that is the question! One thing is certain….you will find yourself joining the hunt all the way until the end.

Ok, so I am torn in my review for this book. I found it super compelling to read because I wanted to know the history and I wanted to see what happened. However, I found that I figured most of the mystery part out too early so the whole reveal I was just like ok, so I was right. The writing was great. The plot was a little contrived and I felt like the ending could have been dealt with better. Too many bows for me. Overall I would probably give this book a solid 3 stars. I will read more from Wendy Walker though. I find her characters to be well written and the story lines to be decent.

I LOVED this book! The story was complex and chilling. I couldn't put it down.

This book was one of the best domestic suspense drama/thriller stories I have ever read!

Molly Clark seemingly up and left her family. Clues and suspicion send her daughter to search the small town where Clark was last seen after the investigate stalls.

This Wendy Walker thriller will give you goosebumps and have your heart pounding from the very first page!

Don’t Look for. Me. How many of us have ever wanted to do that, to just escape from life. The story tells just that, of a woman consumed by an accident, and her family burdened by this truth. The story is beautifully written on a topic that some of us can relate to. The guilt and our own consequences. This was an action packed thriller, with me anxiously turning the pages to get to the finish line. Out of the four books I’ve read of this author, this is my favorite. Thank you to netgalley, St. ,Martins press who I am always eternally grateful for letting me read another of their ARC’s and the wonderful Wendy Walker for another great story. This is a great book for discussion by a book club.

I typically have a "meh" or "ok" feeling after reading Walker's books. This one left me on the edge of my seat. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and its twists and turns. There were many times I wanted to yell "no!" at the events going on. This book left me thinking about it for many days to come. Suspense, just the right amount of thrill for me and a holy moly shockwave throughout. Great read!

Wendy Walker seriously knows how to draw your attention, every book I have read by her, I am instantly sucked in. Molly is alone, on a dark road, during a storm, when her car runs out of gas and breaks down. Molly never returns home that night. Her family has been grieving over a death in the family for awhile now, and they believe maybe Molly just had enough and didn't want to return home again.
.
This is a seriously twisted, who the hell can I trust kind of novel. Like seriously, WHO DO WE TRUST?? Anyways (lol), the story is told through the eyes of Molly, and her daughter Nicole. Everyone may have given up on finding Molly, but Nicole hasn't. The closer she gets to discovering what happens to her mother, the more this story starts to get more and more complicated. I was honestly on the edge of my seat the entire time but let me tell you something... That friggen ending, I certainly didn't see that coming. It was such a shock to me that I'm still processing. I cannot decide if I absolutely loved it, or absolutely hated it. So bravo for that ending 👏🤣 If you're looking for a "read in one sitting" kinda book, run and grab yourself a copy of this one.

*4.5 Stars*

This was my first book by this author and I will be quickly going back to read her previous releases. This story was very twisty with an entertaining creep factor told in dual POVs with alternating time lines.

I did not expect to be sucked into the story right off the bat but I was hooked wondering what was going to happen.

We follow Nicole (the daughter) and Molly (the mother), after they find themselves in a situation they never imagined, after a horrible tragedy. The author pushes these characters’ limits and even the reader’s limits. While giving these two characters everything they can handle, you’d think they’d give up. They don’t. They are fighters until the very end.

If you’re looking for an addicting, creepy, suspenseful thriller, look no further. Don’t pass this one up!

Grateful to have received a complimentary ARC copy to honestly review.

I really enjoyed this book. Don't Look for Me was one of those books that really grabbed me from page one and did not let go until I was done. It was full of suspense and drama right up to the end. It has everything I want in a good story—strong characterization and a fast-paced, twisty plot. I highly recommend reading this book.

To me this book was like taking a hike on a steep mountain that is very new to you. You walk briskly and take each twist and turn with careful steps. You watch out for anything and everything. So many things that are there in your way. Possibly it will never end. Just when you think it will go straight another huge curve is thrown at you. The twists are plenty. You are so out of breath by the time you finish you are not sure it really happened. But it did...

A few excerpts from the story:
Please let me go. Let me walk away. I feel the words in my head like a prayer. Please, they whisper. Don't look for me.
My beloved family, I am so very sorry. I couldn't make it home, and they I thought maybe you are better off without me.
But for now, for right now, as she drove away, there was just one thought. I'm not going home. Not without my mother.
And when a series of actions come together to create a tragedy, that's what it's called-an accident.
It never goes away. God, help me. It never leaves. I'm sorry, John, for falling off the scale. For being unworthy of you.
I feel it. The truth. The fight is coming.

This is the story of a mother. A mother and daughter. The things that happen between them. The things they will do for each other. What they each will sacrifice for the other. The fights between them. The sorry that drives a wedge between them. Then what they each do for the other. One to find the other and one to keep the other out of harms way. Mothers will do anything for their daughters. Most will. Even give up their own lives.

Molly goes to hell and back in this book. She's a mother and a wife. She loves her children more than life. She has three children and no one can say any different. One died. One died at Molly's hands. She ran over her own daughter. Now her life will never be the same. She doesn't believe she deserves any kind of happiness. She needs to pay for what she did.

Nicole/Nik, Molly's oldest daughter, has guilt of her own. She lives in a life of degrading herself with vodka and men. Once an ace student on her way to bigger and better things. Then the accident that caused her sister's death. Nicole blames herself. If she would have been different maybe Annie would still be alive. Maybe her mother would not have run over her. If only. Now Nicole drowns herself in vodka and sleeps with men she doesn't know. Trying to fill that void.

On a stormy night on a deserted highway Molly runs out of gas. Her nightmare is just beginning. She thinks it's best for everyone if she just walks away and they never see her again. She has no idea what that thinking is going to do to the ones she is leaving behind. Her husband, her son and her oldest daughter. Each has done some pretty awful things to Molly since that awful day. Each has turned their back on her in every way possible. Her mind can't take it anymore. The loss of a child broke her.

This story is going to take you into what happened to Molly. To who took her and why. To a child that needs a mother and a man who is totally insane. There are many characters in this story and each is likable. Each one seems to have a reason or chance to have taken Molly. But only one does. You may figure out who but you will never see each twist that comes. Each turn. Each reason for what is happening. What does Molly's daughter have to do with any of it. Nicole never believed her mother just walked away. She knew how much she had hurt her mom and also knew how much her mom loved each of them. She didn't just walk away. Nicole made it her mission to find her mother. She made a promise to her brother, Evan, that she would not stop until she found their mother.

So many twists and turns that your head will spin. But it's easy to follow also. This is one of the best, if not the best, thrillers I have read. EVER! I did not see many things coming. Many of the things that happen near the end will leave you holding your breath for sure. The depths that a mother will go to protect her daughter and that a daughter will go to find her mother. That love is so strong. Unbreakable. Perfect.

Thank you #NetGalley, #WendyWalker, #StMartin'sPress for this arc. This is my own true review.

5/5 stars and a very high recommendation to all!

Five years ago the Clarke family suffered a devastating tragedy. Their family has been falling apart ever since. Filled with debilitating guilt, Molly cannot forgive herself, but she’s not the only one. Five years later words were spoken, actions were taken and Molly disappears. Did she walk away or is there more to the story. Her daughter, Nic vows to find out and won’t take no for an answer. Walker adds just enough creep factor to keep the reader glued to the pages. What happened that stormy night? Did Molly walk away from a family she believes no longer loves her Or is there more to the story, much more?

At the heart of this story is the troubled relationship between Molly and her daughter, Nicole. The author skillfully alternates between the two women’s points of view – exposing their emotional underbellies and the chain of events that led to a rift in their family years earlier. But that’s the backstory. Now they each face a greater challenge.

Nicole is determined to find her mother and in the process puts herself at risk. It is through her eyes that the reader becomes acquainted with the townspeople and the pool of potential suspects. With each bit of information she uncovers, a new suspect comes into play. Molly doesn’t know her captor’s name and only describes his appearance in general terms, thus giving the reader no clue as to his identity. She is determined to get away, even if it means manipulating the emotions of his young child.

A clever plot with an abundance of twists made for a fast-moving, page turner with an ending I didn’t see coming. A well written and suspenseful thriller.

🎉pub day & review🎉
Happy pub day to don’t look for me @wendywalkerauthor !

I read this wild ride of a thriller last week and wow it hooked me from page 1! I read it in less than 24 hours because I literally couldn’t put it down😂

When Molly, a mother of 3, goes missing in a small, sleepy town, her daughter Nic arrives to look for her. What she doesn’t know at the time is Molly has been kidnapped and held hostage. Will Nic be able to figure out who the kidnapper is amongst numerous possible perpetrators in the town?

I loved that Walker kept the reader on their toes throughout the whole book, just when I thought I knew who the kidnapper was, someone else entered the scene and I didn’t know what to think again😅

Don’t look for me had an eerie feel the whole way through and truly kept me guessing the whole time which is everything you could want from a thriller! Highly recommend this one & it’s releasing today
