3.5 stars for Don’t Look For Me by Wendy Walker. I have had a hard time reading during these crazy times in all of our lives and this book did keep me captivated. It was the first book I have read so fast in the last six months. I always appreciate a physiological thriller to change things up from my usual historical fiction reads. This being said, and even though I raced through this book I did not find myself really loving any of the characters and I did not find the WOW factor in this one. Molly, a mom who doesn’t feel loved and appreciated is trying to cope with her grief, Nic her daughter also trying to cope with their families loss and Alice the little girl who had to endure parents who abused her did not grab me.

This book got great reviews and it is a page turner so if you are in the mood for a fast read and a phycological thriller, give this book a try. I have not read any other book by Wendy Walker but I will give another one a try. Any suggestions?

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Thank you St. Martins Press and Netgalley for giving this twisted tale of Molly Clarke. What did she do and feel? Where is she ? This town of Hastings has lots of characters all trying to cover for themselves and each other. Back stories of their past come to life all searching for Molly Clarke! A Aka Misery type story of the person who and where is Molly.

Wendy Walker does it again! I’ve loved all of her books and this was no exception. She’s for sure an official auto-buy author at this point. DON’T LOOK FOR ME is gripping right from the start.

I always love dual narration/timelines, but I especially loved going back and forth between Molly going missing, and what actually happened to her, to—fast forward two weeks—her daughter, Nicole, looking for her. It really kept the pace, because I was dying to get back to Molly’s chapters each time.

Walker is able to fill her writing with red herrings so you’re constantly second guessing every single character Nicole comes in contact with.

The way Molly just disappeared without a trace in the middle of the night actually reminded me a lot of a true life missing person case that I was obsessed with for a while, Maura Murray. Curious if anyone else had heard of it, or saw the connection. Even though we still don’t know what happened to Maura, unfortunately.

The ending takes a complete 180° turn that I was not expecting at all. Part of it was honestly a little far-fetched for me, but despite that one big NO WAY moment I loved everything about this story. It was still a fun, exhilarating ending, but I anticipate that it won’t work for some readers because it felt like it came out of no where.

Absolutely terrific. This novel is told basically by two POV’s Molly, the mother and Nic, her daughter. 5 years ago Molly accidently hit her youngest child with her car and the rest of the family has never been the same. Her daughter Nicole began to drink and couldn’t succeed in school, her son Evan plays ball which Molly goes to see him play but the feelings from her son and husband are cold and removed. One day Molly is driving home from watching her son play ball when there is a terrific storm and she runs out of gas. Without giving away any spoilers, after 5 days the police call it a “walk away” but Nic on day 14 decides to further investigate her mother’s disappearance. The reader does know what happened to Molly but the twist and turns at the 75% mark kick in and it is a race to the finish. Once I picked this book up I couldn’t put it down. Absolutely awesome. Thank you net galley for this ARC I received for an honest review. This is a must read if you like psychological thrillers with tons of suspense and killer twists.

Don't Look For Me by Wendy Walker is an intense psychological thriller about one woman's disappearance and her daughter's search for her mother. One night, during a bad storm, Molly Clark didn't return home after visiting her son at his boarding school. Police believe that she "walked away" because her family life and her relationship with her husbands and children were falling apart. But her daughter Nicole is determined to find her mother as she feels guilty about their last confrontation, which may have pushed Molly to leave. The question is, did Molly leave on her own accord, or did something sinister happened to her?

The story is told from Molly's and Nicole's POVs, and I enjoyed reading both. Even though unlike Nicole, we the readers find out early on what exactly happened to Molly, there are still a lot of twists that keep the story suspenseful. I highly recommend Don't Look for Me for all thriller fans.

Man, this one presses the gas from page one and takes you on the best kind of thriller ride. The characters are nuanced and interesting. The plot makes sense, and the ending is not rushed. If all Wendy Walker books are like this then count me in as on board. Once I started listening to this one I could not stop.

Before you read this book, take a good look at your fingernails. Are they long and nicely manicured? If yes, then read this one at another time. Preferably a few days before your next manicure appointment. Don’t Look For Me by Wendy Walker is a true nail-biter. It’s intense, suspenseful, and extremely addictive. In my opinion, this is a slower burning thriller. It’s not super fast-paced, and this is something I ended up really appreciating. I thought it was very well crafted and thought out. Nothing felt too hurried, yet I was still on the edge of my seat with anticipation! You all know that I love my family dramas, so the mother/daughter storyline in Walker’s latest was an added bonus for me. Definitely pick this one up on release day, September 15th! Highly recommend! 5/5 stars for Don’t Look For Me!

Mrs. Walker is a phenomenal writer of thrilling tales and "Don't Look For Me" is her latest.

Following Molly Clarke on a dark and stormy night, we learn that she has decided to leave the pain of a family tragedy behind. Disappearing. Leaving everything and everyone she loves behind.

Or does she?

Molly's daughter begins to piece things together and isn't happy with the story that her just left without any warming.

What ensues in a methodical but quick paced read that answers the question, "When you think all is lost, does love triumph?"

I highly recommend "Don't Look For Me." A perfect read for those seeking a well written psychological thriller.

Don't Look for Me is a gripping psychological thriller about the disappearance of Molly Clarke who seemingly just walked away from her life on the five year anniversary of the death of her youngest kid. Everyone believes Molly would just leave. It doesn't help that a note appears telling her family not to look for her. But Nicole's daughter doesn't believe. The story alternates between perspectives with Molly in first person and Nicole in third person. Nicole is trying to find out what really happened to her mom, while with Molly we see what happened as she's offered help from a man with a nine year old daughter who says he'll call her family. What if he doesn't? The story is filled with twists and very solid writing. Readers will be addicted as they race to the last page. Highly recommended to readers looking for an unputdownable psychological thriller.

I enjoy dual time frames, and this one fits that bill (with Molly and then her daughter's POV). There were a few twists I wasn't anticipating, but there wasn't as much of a "pop" to the story as I'd expected. It was a bit too predictable, overall, for my preference. It is suspenseful, but it was a bit hard for me to stay engaged due to the pacing. It was repetitive with the some phrasing, and that was a bit annoying. Some parts were a bit unbelievable, as well. Molly was an okay character, but I wasn't fond of Nic. This was just "meh" for me.

I will leave a review on Amazon or B&N on Sept. 15, 2020

Wow this book is so full of twists and turns, this is one of my favorite genres and this one certainly didn't disappoint. From the beginning until the end of the book, it kept me on my toes and turning pages to see what would happen next. Tragedy can destroy a family, or it can also bring a family back together. I really thought I knew whom the culprit was about half way into the book, yet it proved me wrong. This was a very well written book, and one that I definitely would recommend to those that enjoy psychological thrillers.

I received a ARC from NetGalley and St. Martin's Press and was under no obligation to leave a favorable review, all opinions expressed here are my own.

Molly has suffered a terrible loss, and decides to disappear, or did she? All signs point to her walking away from her life, yet her family has a nagging feeling about it, and won't give up until they know for certain.

The book follows two time frames, one from when Molly disappeared from Molly's perspective, and one 2 weeks later from her daughter's perspective. I always love different time lines and perspectives. This is a plus for me.

This is a very fast moving book, with at least one jaw dropping moment. It was thrilling and addictive but was missing a bit of oomph. A very entertaining, albeit somewhat predictable, read.

.
Summary: One night, Molly Clarke walked away from her life. She had been at her son’s football and was driving home in a horrible rainstorm. She doesn’t want to be found. Or at least, that’s the story. Her car is abandoned near a gas station miles from her home. Her cellphone left charging in the car. The police said it was a “walk away”. Women leave their lives behind to start over. Molly even left a note and her clothes at a nearby hotel. The note said, “Don’t look for me.”
.
This book grabbed me from the first pages. It was so scary, unsettling, and atmospheric. The dead of night, a terrible rainstorm. Molly is a mother in crisis and I could feel her pain and anguish about her marriage and her children. The story is told from two POVs, Molly’s and her daughter, Nicole.
.
About halfway through, I thought the book lost its way. I guessed what was happening and the twist was anticlimactic for me. I feel like the story started out so strong, but sort of fizzled and fell apart in the middle. And I found Nicole to be an irritating character for much of the time, so her chapters didn’t appeal to me.
.
The book did pick up near the end. I do think this was a better book than The Night Before. Wendy Walker is definitely able to combine family drama with all the twists of a good thriller. It’s worth the read for any thriller fan. I do have to mention how much I love the cover on the finished copy with the sparkly rain on the black background.

What a twisted psychological thriller!

Molly Clarke understandably hasn't gotten over the loss of her nine year old daughter five years prior. Neither has her husband or her two oldest children. This family can't quite get a rhythm back for their lives. Molly runs into a storm while driving home from her teenage son's football game and briefly considers ending it all. In the end, she flags down a vehicle for help after running out of fuel.

This novel is told from two points of view: Molly's and her young adult daughter Nicole's. Each chapter switches between what is happening from their perspective. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to see who the villain was and how things would turn out. In the end, I had it all wrong, which was a delightful surprise.

While there is a great deal of suspense, there is also a thread of love and sacrifice. It was so rewarding to see Molly and Nicole work through some of their pain and find love on the other side.

Walker lives in the USA and is a former family law attorney. She is also the successful author of many novels including thrillers such as "All is Not Forgotten". "Emma in the Night" and "The Night Before". This newest release tells the story of Molly and her adult daughter Nicole. Devastated by a family tragedy, Molly disappears on stormy night and the evidence looks like she voluntarily walked away from it all. Nicole is determined to find her anyway. What we as the reader know is that Molly is being held against her will by a man with a nine year old daughter. This a great recommendation for domestic thriller fans as it comes complete with the appropriate twists and turns and also some depth.

I love a good thriller, and Don't Look for Me is definitely a great thriller - it hooked me earlier on than I expected and I couldn't put it down. What really distinguished it though, was the character development. The grief this family experience grounded the book and let their actions throughout the book feel realistic. The twists were great and the suspense was non-stop - highly recommended!

A grieving mother seemingly walks away from her family but her eldest child is determined to find her and bring her home.

A mother of three, grieving the loss of her youngest child in a freak accident, travels to a remote town to watch her son’s boarding school football game. On her way home, Molly gets caught in a storm that marks the beginning of a new nightmare, one in which she won’t be returning from.

Molly’s eldest child, Nicole has been suffering from overwhelming guilt since the death of her younger sister. Nicole cannot accept what she has been told, that her mother willingly walked away from her family and disappeared without a trace.

Nicole returns to the town where he mother was last seen and with the police to reopen their case. Nicole’s questions yield the realizations that this town and its inhabitants have secrets that go way back and most do not want to give them up. Her instincts tell her to keep searching for her mother. She’s about to find out more than she bargained for.

Don’t Look for me is an engaging thriller that will have you rooting for a mother who lost one child but never stops fighting for another.

BRB Rating: Read It.

I am a big fan of Walker’s work and absolutely loved Don’t Look for Me! It has a great balance of twists and suspense, family drama and lots of red herrings that are really well executed. ⁣

Molly Clarke is missing but authorities think she’s decided to “walk away” from her life due to past tragedies. Her daughter Nic doesn’t believe this and starts to search for her mother, getting drawn into the world of a small town holding a lot of secrets. ⁣

Walker’s writing engages you from page one and doesn’t let go. The dual narrations by Molly and Nic build the suspense and a sense of urgency throughout the book. I also really enjoyed the way it explored grief and how differently it manifests itself in the characters lives. Just when I thought I had it figured out, the ending delivered twists I did not predict! ⁣

I highly recommend Don’t Look for Me to all my psychological thrillers lovers ! ⁣

Thank you to @stmartinspress and @netgalley for the arc in exchange for my honest thoughts. ⁣

This was a very gripping and fast-paced thriller, with surprisingly little violence. I read the first 70% in one sitting and it actually gave me a nightmare, which is good in my opinion because I never get scared! Molly accidentally killed her youngest child and has since grown apart from her other two children and husband. She is driving back from her son’s football game when she runs out of gas in a storm and must set out to find help. Nic is Molly’s daughter, and her part of the story is told starting two weeks after Molly has gone missing. There are several suspects who could be the “bad guy” and unfortunately, I guessed it correctly, so I guess it is a bit predictable. I would still highly recommend it!

Don't Look for Me is a fast-paced thriller about the disappearance of Molly Clarke. When Molly disappears on the 5 year anniversary of the death of her youngest child, her family is left to wonder if she walked away from the family or if something happened to her. This book is told from 2 perspectives - that of Molly and that of her daughter Nicole who is searching for her. I really enjoyed the character development in this novel - Molly, Alice, and Nicole each have experienced trauma in their lives and are acting on it in different ways. This novel kept me guessing in the best ways. I was surprised by the ending. This was my first book by Wendy Walker but it won't be my last.
