My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a ride. And I was here for it.

This review may be slightly spoiler-y if yo don't like to know anything going into a thriller, so just beware reading on.

One rainy night Molly disappears, and this is the story of what happened.

I feel weird that I really felt like I related with the main character, Molly. We basically had the same brain. Is that strange?

The main character is smart, scrappy, and doesn't take her situation lying down. Because one thing I love about a thriller where the MC has been kidnapped, and they actually try to escape. Maybe because I am on a Survivor binge watch journey, but I love that she see the cracks in the villains plans and will do anything to use them for her benefit.

And the relationship she builds with the kidnapper's young daughter is so complex and confusing, and I loved that part of the story.

I also loved her daughter Nic's Point of view. She's trying to find her mother even though their relationship is strained. She will do anything to find her mom, meets quite a cast of characters in a creepy small along the way, and doesn't know who she can trust.

If you love a suspense that keep you turning the pages, I think you should pick this up! You will be theorizing, follow red herrings and find the last reveals actually shocking.

TW/CW: death of a child, kidnapping, gaslighting, murder

Sorry I waited so long to read this book. It was intriguing, but I was a little disappointed toward the end. I'm sure people will enjoy it. ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.
Don't Look For Me is a sit on the edge of your seat thriller! I loved the dual POVs between missing mother and sleuthing daughter. Even with the two perspectives, I continued to question my guesses as to what was going to happen as I read. If you are looking for a quick-paced thriller I highly recommend Don't Look For Me by Wendy Walker.
Overall, this thriller was good. A little predictable, but the story was well-written. 3/5 stars for me and I would recommend it to anyone that enjoys thrillers.
Molly goes missing one stormy night. Her husband doesn’t notice her missing till later the next day. All they find is her car and cellphone abandoned after it ran out of gas. It’s the anniversary of her daughter's death and they don’t know if she just walked away from her life or if something happened to her. The story has many twists and her other daughter doesn’t know who to trust while looking for her. A great mystery to read.
Thank you Netgalley for a copy in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts are my own.
It was a dark and stormy night when Molly Clarke disappeared. All evidence points to her having walked away from her life, and who could blame her? Tragedy had overwhelmed all else and it would make sense for her to want to leave it all behind her, especially after a particularly nasty argument with her daughter, Nicole. But of course the most obvious answer isn't always the correct one. And as Nicole tries to piece together what happened to Molly we get a twisty, turny psychological thriller of a book that kept me engaged and guessing. I don't want to say much more, because I don't want to give anything away. But I definitely recommend this one for anyone who enjoys psychological thrillers.
Thanks to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for providing a copy for an unbiased review.
Wow, just wow! This kept me up late into the night racing to finish!! You will not be disappointed by this one!! I loved both of the intertwining storylines & found myself biting my nails more than once!!
Don’t Look for Me
5 stars
Wow wow wow. This book was so amazing! I read a lot of thrillers and am considered a thriller snob and this book deserves 5.5 stars! It was really unique and original. It’s emotional and heart wrenching but also action packed and though provoking. It’s exciting but also a nail biter. I was on the edge of my seat the entire book. I couldn’t put it down from start to finish. I loved it so much and recommend this book a thousand times to everyone! I look forward to reading everything from this author in the future!
This is the best Wendy Walker book I've read so far!
The story of a woman abducted. A man deranged. A daughter determined to find her.
The way this story unfolded was really unique. I tend to read a lot of thrillers and sometimes they all run together, but I have a feeling this one will stick with me for a while. I thought the way the author introduced us to the abductor early on without telling us his name or identity was pretty unique, so we were able to see both sides of this story, the perspective of the woman in captivity and the perspective of those who were searching for her. And when the stories eventually converged in the end, there was a surprise that I never saw coming!
This book reminded me a lot of Intensity by Dean Koontz so if you were a fan of that one, I think you would really enjoy .
-I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley, Wendy Walker, and St. Martin's Press for the opportunity to review.-
Entertaining but with an unlikable main character. It was a little too long but good. It is a hunting story and sad. Good thriller
Walker hit it out of the park, again, with this one. The way the author unravels a story is so compelling. The twists, turns, and reveals are exactly what I want in a thriller.
TW: mentioned death of a child, alcoholism, brief panic attacks, mentions of suicidal thoughts,
First off, I’m a little late with this review. The book is already out but nonetheless I’m happy to finally get this arc done. Thank you Netgalley and publishers for giving me this chance.
Second, I always suggest reading the book before reviews unless it’s for trigger warnings. Something I may like , may not be something you like. So yeah..
Now onto the story! We start off with Molly, who’s had lost one of her three children. Now dealing with the grief. The last thing we see is that she supposedly runs away. Throughout the whole book we’re switching from the past to the current with her daughter Nicole. I really like this. Rarely do I read books with POV shifts . Although it does get confusing at times. But on one side we’re dealing with mom and on the other we’re dealing with the daughter.
As I’m reading it, at first it was slowly gripping my attention but as I restarted it from the beginning and really focused in everything happening. It really caught and kept my attention.
I loved the pacing and overall the voices of each character. The themes are interesting, and yet compelling. It’s something I haven’t really read in a story before. Not saying they aren’t stories covering this. I’m saying it’s something I’ve never personally read.
Anyway, I’m really glad I read this. From beginning, middle and end it was such interesting and joyful experience. Still a huge fan of the authors work and I can’t wait to see more.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Don’t Look For Me - Wendy Walker
Gripping from the very first chapter! Once you start you will not want to stop!
I absolutely loved flipping back and forth between Molly and Nic’s perspective. It was a neat way to explore a damaged mother daughter relationship, and the drive to fix it before it was too late.
The twists and turns truly don’t stop until the end. Even without the final twist, my mine was blown over the quality of this thriller. Definitely one of my favourite thrillers of all time! Loved it!
Not my first Wendy Walker experience and won't be my last. She knows how to keep my attention - this is a must read for those that love suspenseful thrillers!
Molly's guilt sends her running away from her family, inadvertently into a dangerous situation, Angry as she is, her daughter feels something is wrong, and so Nicole searches for her mother. Dear Reader must truly stretch belief at the climax, but still, it's a good thriller, with lovely ambiguity, a creepy little child, and shattered family dynamics. I was fortunate to receive a digital copy from the publisher St. Martin's Press through NetGalley.
Go good! I thought oh enjoyed this book. Keep me up all night. Can wait to read more my this author.
Don't Look For Me is a fast paced, domestic thriller, that keeps you on thenedge of your seat. I love a good thriller. This book gives you all the feels.
It is told in dual POV and the timeline bounces from the present, to a few years ago, and days after the mom goes missing. You follow Molly, the mother, and Nicole, the daughter, through a devastating loss, trying to find their way through the pain and the grief, when Molly goes missing.
While Nicole is searching for her mother, she leans on a few people from the town she was last seen in. Hastings Pass, is a creepy little town, mysterious, in bum fucked Egypt, where she stumbles upon secrets that bring her trouble!
Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press, for providing mr with this ARC.
Wendy Walker has a way with her storytelling that makes it impossible to put down. This books exceeded my expectations and I couldn’t be more appreciative that I got the chance to read it early
The night Molly disappeared began with a storm, running out of gas, and a man offering her a ride to safety. But when the doors lock shut, Molly begins to suspect she has made a terrible mistake.
The authorities call it a walk away, where a woman leaves her family due to being overwhelmed, burnt out or another similar reason. When her car is found abandoned at a gas station with no sign of fowl play the authorities are not very concerned.
A new lead brings Molly’s daughter, Nicole, back to the small, desolate town where her mother was last seen to renew the desperate search. The locals are sympathetic and eager to help. The innkeeper. The bartender. Even the police. Until secrets begin to reveal themselves and Nicole comes closer to the truth about that night—and the danger surrounding her.
This book was a wonderful mystery! This was my second book by this author, but certainly not my last. I think Walker’s characters and plot lines are always so well thought out, and I really enjoyed this story.
