Can you go wrong with a keto cookbook from this duo? The answer is no. Even if you don't subscribe to the keto diet, you will find yourself wanting to make these amazing drinks. I was so happy when this was published so I could add it to my own collection.
Delicious and wonderful recipes like smoothies, coffee, tea and other keto drinks and I would recommend this to anyone following a keto diet.
People say don't drink your calories...
The Keto series from Adams Media is impeccable. Keto Drinks specializes in an array of beverages as it compiles simple recipes with the visually appealing format and organization of content the series is known for.
While I'm not doing keto, I can certainly appreciate quality, tasty drinks. This book delivers that and more, For those of you who don't know...fruits and veggies aren't only good for you, they can be delicious! I liked this book and would recommend to anyone who wants healthier drinks.
So far, I've tried several keto drinks from the book and I am yet to find one I don't like! When I started keto, I was so sad about giving up my smoothies and drinks, but this book is proof that I still have so many options! I definitely recommend the Cinnamon Dolce Frappe which was AMAZING, and totally guilt-free. I'm definitely going to keep experimenting.....yum!!
I found this little book to be super helpful and has some yummy recipes! I can't wait to try a few of the chocolate and the coffee ones.
This is a cookbook stuffed with ideas. My husband has been missing his daily coffee, and I am excited to jump into all these ideas. I think they are great substitutes to support his KETO diet. I was impressed at how much was in this cookbook.
What an awesome selection of drinks! When doing keto you can really miss yummy drinks from lemonades to coffee fraps. But Keto Drinks by Faith Gorsky has come to rescue. I do like that she goes out of the box and even has broth recipes and infused waters. Can't wait to try them!
Keto Drinks by Faith Gorsky rand Lara Clevenger is a cookbook and well curated recipe collection full of keto compliant drinks and broths. Released 1st May 2020 by Simon & Schuster on their Adams Media imprint, it's 176 pages and will be available in paperback and ebook formats.
The introduction covers the basics of the keto lifestyle/diet, including a basic primer on ketosis, macronutrients, tips, ingredients, tools, supplies, how-to. The following chapters include the recipes arranged roughly by category: smoothies, coffee, tea, juice, keto drinks, and milkshakes (yum).
Ingredient measurements are supplied in American standard measurements only. There's a conversion chart for metric measures in the appendices. The nutritional information: fat, carbs, protein, fiber content, etc are listed for the recipes as well as serving sizes. Extra tips or recipe alternatives are listed in the recipes. The recipes themselves are fairly straightforward and are made for the most part with easily sourced ingredients. Many are very simple, none of them are overly complex.
The photography is not abundant; most of the recipes are not illustrated, but the photographs which are included are clear and well done. I wish there had been more photographs and serving suggestions, but I do understand that extra photography increases the price of book projects very quickly and the lack is not crippling because this is a drinks recipe collection.
This is a huge collection of recipes and even allowing for the fact that some of them are very similar to others in the same category, this will keep keto-cooks going for ages. Many of these can also easily be adapted to non-keto cooking.
Four stars.
Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.
I have been doing the low-carb diet for going on two years now so this book definitely held some appeal for me. I have done the bulletproof coffee but was looking for other tasty drinks to use in my quest to stay low-carb. This was definitely an interesting book and had several recipes that I want to try. There are definitely a wide variety of drink recipes ranging from types of coffees, juices, shakes & many more. One thing I particularly liked is that the ingredients are pretty much standard ingredients that you might have on hand.
Thank you to Adams Media & Net Galley for allowing me the opportunity to read an advance copy of this book.
What a huge variety of recipes- from smoothies to coffees to teas. There's something to please everyone here. One thing to note, some of these drinks are very high in calories so i would consider them meal replacements (anything upwards of 400 cals is a full meal for me). Lots of different flavors and ingredients to chose from.
I must admit, based on the title, I was expecting keto-friendly alcoholic drinks. So it was a pleasant surprise to find delicious-looking recipes for smoothies, milkshakes, coffee, and more. Whether or not you follow a keto diet, there are lots of choices here. I could have used more photographs of the recipes, but otherwise it's a nice little cookbook.
I received an advanced reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.
This is a great book focussed on Lego drinks rather than food which makes a refreshing change.
I loved the simple recipies with accessible ingredients you can find in most supermarket!
Some recipies have high fat content but some have very little (such as 8g). There are some beautiful pictures throughout, but it would have been fantastic if there was one for every drink featured.
The beginning gives some great information regarding Keto too.
It has basic wording/sentence structure which makes it easy to follow. Recipes seem nice, basic recipe set up. Not many books go into drinks, and this one can be helpful if wanting something other than water or milk alternatives.
Anxious about starting a keto diet but worried about the cravings for a normal drink routine? Look no further since these two authors have put together a beautiful book with amazing drink pictures. These drinks are low carb, and great tasting so you can seamlessly transition into a keto or low carb diet.
What did I like? From latte recipes to iced coffee...the book covers it all. I really enjoyed the infusion recipes but the pictures were just amazing. I never really paid much mind to what a keto diet really allows you to drink but after reading this drink recipe book I don’t think finding a favorite will be a problem. The book even delves into making good for you milkshakes.
Would I recommend or buy? This book is a must have! Not only can you wow your friends with beautiful drink recipes that will make them jealous but they are super great for you too. Just because you diet doesn’t mean you have to stick to water.
Thoughts for the authors? Way to step outside the box with this beautiful book. I can only hope these drinks taste half as good as they look. Congratulations on your new book release. Five stars of keto drink options. I received a copy of this book from the publisher and this is my opinion.
Wow, so many great ideas for drinks using low carb fruits, healthy fats and veggies. Lots of cold drink ideas, which is a plus for me. Great photos and most ingredients seem like they would be use to find. Going to try making quite a few! Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an ARC of this book.
Just the other day, I read a plea on a keto social media site: what else can I drink besides tea and coffee??
I myself have that question now and then and I'm often just too lazy to look up the recipes online.
This book would be handy to have. Such a nice variety of beverages for inspiration! The carb count for the recipes seem to be mostly suitable for a low-carber. I spotted just one or two with ingredients that are rather high in carbs, but they do caution on portion.
There are more cold drinks than hot. And there's a nice chapter on broths that I think is essential for a keto diet.
My impression is that many of the recipes require coconut milk and milled flaxseeds. I do wish they included possible alternatives to these ingredients and their equivalent measurements - for people who don't enjoy them. Though I love coconut milk, there are times I don't feel like drinking it.
I never thought of adding nuts and cream cheese into my drinks. That's new to me. Can't wait to try out some of the recipes!
Thank you Netgalley and Adams Media for the ARC. This is my honest review.
As someone who is brand new to Keto, this book was very informative about the diet and has excellent recipes for the adventurous keto pro and the very beginner.
5 stars! This is a really nice collection of Keto friendly drinks. I'm not currently on Keto but I'm going to make a few over the next couple of days just because they look so delicious.
Thank you Netgalley for an advanced copy of Keto Drinks.
Keto Drinks is full of stunning photographs and yummy recipes!! There is a wide range of flavors that should make everyone happy, and most of the ingredients are easy to find! There are tons of different categories- smoothies, coffees, teas, juices, milkshakes, and broths. They provide nutritional facts for each recipe and detailed instructions! I can’t wait to try them all!!
