The information is broken down into easily digestible pieces. The colors and graphics make it fun and I can see this as a very useful resources for students.

Good start for those who need help or refresher on grammar in a more visual way than other books do. Good movement and flow to the topics. Basic grammar to grammar that can be harder to get.

I was so excited to see this title on netgalley. I love infographics. An infographic guide to grammar?! Is it even possible? English is one of the hardest and most complicated languages to learn. All those exceptions to the rule! I've always felt that the best way to learn English is to grow up speaking English and reading books in English!

After looking through this book, I must say I am not disappointed. I love the bright vivid colors, creative fonts and graphics. I really appreciate the pages on terms used for parts of speech and sentence structures. Just the other day, I asked a friend, what do you call this type of phrase? I've always been aware that I am clueless about grammatical terms. I certainly need help there! The punctuation and writing styles chapters will help strengthen some of my weak points too.

I find the chapter on common mistakes a bit too basic for me, but it will certainly come in useful for others who want to stop making those errors.

I would highly recommend this book for those who already have at least a basic grasp of the language and want to brush up on their grammar.

Thank you Netgalley and Adams Media for this ARC. This is my honest review.

In a world full of visual clutter, I have to both appreciate the artistry gone into this but also admit that it was just too much. Each grammar item is given a different treatment so there is no consistency and 'road' to follow in this journey of better grammar. Imagine metaphorically trying to get to a destination and having the signs and stoplights all change at each corner: different colors and shapes, style and flashiness, position and location. It's just chaos - a beautifully presented chaos but still inscrutable.

And there are some good solid tips here. A graphical format doesn't allow the author to go into enough detail to really make the points needed to understand the grammar rules presented but at least it is a visually stimulating trip with some nice tidbits hidden within. If anything, these would have made great posters for a classroom - as you are teaching one subject, just exchange out the posters. In that way, they make a really great introduction to the topic that can then be covered in more detail. But as a standalone, it's all style over substance. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

I read this whole infographic book through more than once and made a lot of notes. I LOVE Grammar and learned a lot from this which will benefit my writing in the future and allow me to teach others about proper grammar. It is colourful, informative, and fun. Teachers and librarians will benefit from this book immensely.

As a self-professed grammar nerd of an adult, this book was kind of like throwing me a huge bag of candy.

But where it truly would have been amazingly helpful was in middle school, when we all (even the word geeks like me) dreaded the grammar component of English class because it was just so danged boring and hard to parse.

This book was exactly the opposite of that. It sounds ridiculous, as an adult, to rave about the bright colors used, but I really did find it visually helpful and I would imagine that it would also be more compelling for a younger audience.

The infographics aren’t just more fun to look at. They’re actually far more accessible and make relatively complex grammatical concepts easier to understand. The tips for avoiding common mistakes were similarly well-presented and easily applicable.

The information included runs from very basic to just moderately advanced and won’t solve your most complex AP style questions, but it’s wonderfully helpful as a quick reference guide and would be an ideal teaching tool for ESL or middle/high school age children.

I'm not really sure who the audience for this is. If it's students learning grammar, there's not nearly enough information to teach the practical applications of the terms in the book. If it's English teachers, there's not nearly enough supporting material to build a lesson around. It seems to me like the book is trying to cover too much (the structure of the English language), and, in doing so, it covers very little; it becomes a glossary of terms, but each term gets only a cursory glance. It is a very visually appealing book, but it just scratches the surface on every topic in touches.

This is a engaging and informative manual on grammar. It breaks up topics and faces common misconceptions head on. It also helps that it’s easy to read and in a chart like format.

The Infographic Guide to Grammar by Jara Kern is a great tool to have on your shelf or your Kindle for easy reference and a brush up on grammar and writing.

The book is a cool way for anyone to learn English language grammar rules or to brush up on those pesky rules or common grammar mistakes, such as when to use affect vs. effect.

The guide is simple and easy to use and has fun and interesting graphics and examples. The book provides in-depth information on parts of speech, sentence structure, punctuation, writing style, and common mistakes such as who and whom, double negatives, and commonly confused words. The book lays out the basic rules of grammar and provides tricks to help avoid common mistakes. One helpful source is the Subject-Verb Agreement Cheat Sheet and how to handle subjects and whether the verb is singular or plural and provides an example. For example, titles of books, movies, and songs are always singular.

This is a very bright and colorful visual guide to grammar for kids or adults who like infographics. I have a rare form of epilepsy that makes me sensitive to sensory over-stimulation and I found the book to be like the literary equivalent of going to a rave, but I suspect that others will really enjoy the bright, bold, cluttered pages.

The book packs information in, without a lot of explanation. There are many examples along the lines of "do this" and "don't do this," along with charts and lists and such.

I could never just sit down and "read" this book since it feels like getting screamed at by a rapid succession of people in crazy outfits to me, but this will probably be a great resource for kids and adults who respond well to this sort of material.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for the purpose of review.

Excellent reference book. Simple, clear and modern. English Grammar easily explained for new English speakers and those of us who weren’t paying attention at school. Would appeal to any age group.

I absolutely love infographics. As I am a visual learner, I think they are a great way to study. Saying that, I loved this edition. It is easy to follow, colours are very easy on the eyes, the graphics are very creative, and grammar rules are explained in a concise manner. A fantastic reference book to have.

As a non native English speaker and struggling sometimes with grammar, The Infographic Guide to Grammar is a good resource for me. Not only that it is interesting laid out with colourful charts to make the info really interesting. The Infographic Guide to Grammar is a resourceful guide for everyone from native to non-native English speakers, whether you're a librarian, a teacher or simply someone who loves to read, you ought to add this book in your collection.

A very visually appealing guide to grammar.

This would be a good staple reference book in any library collection.

The colors are vivid and eye catching and I think some of the pages would actually make good display posters for classrooms or libraries.

Will definitely be getting a copy for my library.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this sneak peak at the ARC.

Good reference book! But I think is too basic for people who want to improve their English and not enough detail for people who are trying to learn. Love the graphics tho.

Thanks for the advanced copy!

Being bilingual with English and Spanish being my first languages, I've always had trouble learning, understanding, and applying Grammar and Punctuation rules. Reading craft books on the subject made me feel like I was reading Greek. I don't think I'll ever be able to recite rules despite consistently studying the subject since grade school and throughout college. The Infographic Guide to Grammar is exactly what my visual brain needs to understand important concepts in Grammar. And the bright and colorful mindmapping will assist me in understanding and applying concepts. I look forward to using this craft/reference book as a go-to with each book I write.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book. I will recommend to my writer friends.

A tight, informative guide to grammar in the English language. Being a native English speaker, I knew a lot of what was covered, but often instinctually, without realizing or even understanding the rules or names behind them. I am--obviously--not an expert in grammar or punctuation. But even from my limited point of view, I could tell that this book was genuinely GOOD: from the concise descriptions it gave, to the layout, feel, and general design of the book. Brightly colored with good fonts for the infographics, I found myself tearing through page after page, eager for the information this book provided me.

I feel like this book is a must-have for grammar enthusiasts, writers, educators, people learning English--for either the first time or even if they just want to hone their skills--and for people who are generally interested in language and grammar.

This book is stuffed full of additional tips, tricks, and information on the English language. I loved it.
