The Fuss Free Toddler Cookbook by Barbara Lamperti is a must have cookbook even if you don’t have toddlers! I can’t begin to tell you how many times I have recommended this cookbook to many friends and coworkers. The cookbook is easy to follow, has a wide range of foods and is easy to read! It includes recipes for breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinners. It includes whether the recipe is gluten free, dairy free, egg free or nut free. Whether it’s vegan, how long it takes to prepare, how many ingredients, how many servings, whether it’s freezer friendly and how many it serves. Ways to make it appeal to little ones in your life, how to include them in the making and why doing so is important. (hint~they are more likely to eat what they help to prepare), so much information!

The Fuss Free Toddlers Cookbook makes mealtimes easier for both the cook and the child. When my kids were little we had a fixed budget for food and it was hard at times because the kids could be picky. Especially my eldest. She would sit forever with something in her mouth. She is still a picky eater and she is in her 40's.

As I looked through the recipes I found a lot that would have been helpful. Although, I did not make different things for each child. I did not have time for that. If they did not like it they didn't like it. These recipes are not only for the toddler, but they are also for the family.

The book has "If all else fails" section that tells the cook how to serve foods in a way that the toddler will eat. Like reshaping and resizing. These recipes will also help the cook and the child stress less so everyone is happy.

Chapter one is all about feeding your toddler without the fuss
Chapter two has a variety of breakfast items like smoothies, waffles and breakfast cookies.
Chapter three has recipes that are made for little hands, like little sandwiches and pita pockets.
Chapter 4 is a chapter full of veggies that you may be able to get your child to eat.
Chapter five is full of recipes has fish stick-free meals like grain bowls and skewers.
Chapter six is called non-nugget chicken dinners. There is roasted chicken, bowties with chicken and peas.
Chapter seven has meat recipes. Pancetta and Provolone Pork Rolls and Ham and Kale dumplings.
Chapter eight is full of dips, sauces, and spreads.

As I said, there are a lot of good looking recipes for the whole family or just the toddler.
I highly recommend this one as a child needs to have nutritious meals and snacks.

Being at home with a baby is stressful and when a child hits the age when prepackaged foods are no longer the only thing on her menu the stress doubles down. Nutrition, preferences and simply coming up with a variety to keep young children from getting bored is a true hassle and this book made my cooking quite a bit easier. The recipes are delicious, I prepared them with my daughter in mind but both my wife and I enjoyed everything we tried. Everything is easy to follow, ingredient lists are completely simple and the sections allow you to treat the book almost as a menu when deciding on what to cook each night. Wonderfully helpful for new parents, long time parents and even if you are just looking to expand your own culinary repertoire.

The Fuss Free Toddler Cookbook gives helpful hints and recipes for creating meals for picky toddlers.

Some of the recipes do not seem to be something picky eaters would go for, such as roasted broccoli and ricotta sandwiches or smoked salmon, avocado, and egg sandwiches. These don’t sound like toddler foods to me and I already know my grandson would never be persuaded to eat these things.

Green pancakes with blueberries sounds fun, however, as do pink almond waffles. There is a whole section on colorful foods but most of the recipes are not accompanied by pictures.

If you are looking for creative ways to feed your toddler healthy foods, you may find some ideas in this book.

I received a free copy of this book from Netgalley. My review is voluntary.

My three year old is the pickiest eater I know. If it's not a hot dog, chicken nuggets, or peanut butter jelly sandwiches, he's not eating it. I can't even feed him pasta! So when I saw this "Fuss Free" cookbook I knew I needed to read it. And I'm really glad I did. This is chock full with interesting facts and advice for monitoring and preparing a child's nutrition. It was charming and the recipes were easy to understand and unique. I will admit some of the recipes required a lot of ingredients I didn't have in the house, but I made some simple versions of the ideas that my son absolutely loved.
