This book had a very nice premise, however the followthrough was a letdown. The anticipation and the buildup was very nicely done, but when it came to the actual relationship of the two main characters all that came through was pettiness. This was a writing full of adolescent fights and ridiculous, non existent problems. I would not recommend this book too anyone over 20years old.

Perfect timing does make a big difference…and it’s certainly the case when Maggie gets a second chance to find happiness with Lynn. When they had first met, they could not pursue any relationship even though there was a connection. But now, a few years later, would there be obstacles that would not allow them to be together?
This was a good story loaded with quite a bit of angst. It was interesting to see how both Lynn and Maggie navigated through their feelings for each other as well as circumstances they faced. This was a good read.

Maggie and Carrie are best friends when Carrie introduce Maggie to her aunt there were instant connection to her and vice verse but at that time they couldn’t do anything because Lynn was married and Maggie was a teenager.

Now years later at 26 Maggie finally becoming a doctor and Lynn who 38 is finally at a place where she like but when she bump into Maggie that connection she felt before is still there but she hesitate to go there because not only because the age gap there her niece Carrie and wether she wants to give love another try.

When the two Mains meet the one is Young, a teenager really and years go by and blah blah blah.. I am not going to get into giving a play by play of the story because what's the point of you reading it if I give it all away. I have mixed feelings on this book. It is well written and I thought it started off well enough but slowed somewhat till around 80 percent. Things picked up and got interesting for the most part to the finish but wrapped up a little too easy for all the trouble that it took to get there I thought. I can only give this a 3 plus as I really did not feel a connection to the main characters. I was trying to decide why as I was reading through the book but I really did not care much about them and if they even got together. So in short I think many well really like this book but for me its a three and change stars.

Maggie has only ever loved Lynn and medince - Lynn is the icing on the cake for Maggie whi is a pediatric intern

Lynn, an older divorcee, is the adopted mom of Maggie's best frien, Carrie.

Carrie is convinced that Maggie is responsible for her parents divorce and she is not above issuing ultimatums that alter Maggie and Lynn's lives.

The story is well written - illustrating the need for clear communication in any realtionship, a parent's need for a child's approval and happiness and how people are manipulated by others.

There is a lot of angst in the story - at some points, I wanted to shout at the characters to "get over it" as they complicated their lives needlessly. The end wrapped up very quickly and predictably.

I would be interested to read more of the artist's work - I like the writing style.

Throughout the story, Maggie, a 26 year old intern, and Lynn , a 38 year old nurse had many emotional setbacks regarding their relationship. There were several reasons for this besides the 12 year age gap. Lynn was the aunt who raised Maggie’s best friend, Carrie, who was also an intern at a different hospital. Lynn didn’t want to get involved with another doctor since her ex-wife was also a doctor and placed her work ahead of Lynn; Carrie wanted Lynn to reestablish a relationship with Beth and did not like the idea of her “mom” and Maggie as a couple.

Even though the characters were likable, I felt the level of indecisiveness disrupted their relationship too often. Just when they seem to solidify the relationship, something else happened to disrupt it. Since Beth seemed to be very important to Carrie, I would have liked to see their interactions somewhere in the story. I think this would have added more depth to Carrie’s adverse reaction to Lynn and Maggie’s relationship.

Personally, I found it difficult to get invested in the characters’ lives with all those disruptions. But I know there are many readers who enjoy stories with a lot of angst and will like this one. So I will definitely recommend it to those readers.

I enjoyed this book and the story, but I couldn’t connect with the characters.

Maggie is a teenager her best friend Carrie takes her home to her aunt Lynn. Maggie is instantly attracted to Lynn, but aside from her being Carrie’s aunt she is also married. Years later when Maggie and Carrie get matched to a medical internship Maggie returns to Baltimore, where Lynn is now living life on her own terms. Maggie has stayed away from Lynn on purpose and Lynn has done much of the same. But there is this attraction and love that can’t keep them away from each other, no matter the complications. Lynn struggles with her love for Maggie and how this would fit into her life, with her being more like mom than a aunt to Carrie. And Maggie is just young as well.
They have a past and the book goes back to it some times, but I don’t like those parts.

Somehow all of their friends are rooting for them to work it out and pushing them together, no one seems to have any objections or negative/ realist opinions. There is so much left unsaid and the story just develops, the romance is nice, the built up is rather good. But for me there was just something about the characters that didn’t appeal to me. And I know this is just me, but I can’t stand it when there are multiple names that end with y, ie or i, I will mix them all up in my head.

I love Dena’s work! Love the stories she comes up with her characters in those stories. This one is gut wrenching sappy love story that made me saw aww and Shit in one sentence. I love the up and downs, the pull and push. I think both characters were created as people with flaws and I like that. I love it took them so long to get back to each other and they had their happy ending.
Sometimes if something is meant to be, it will happen.

Every book Dena Blake writes is better than the last. I fell in absolute love with Lynn and Maggie. The only complaint I have is that I want more. I seriously hope there is a follow up. This book was awesome.

Dena Blake is one talented author! Perfect Timing is about Maggie, a medical resident, and Lynn, an ex- lover. The two find themselves meeting accidentally years later. Age gaps play a big part of the story, however with the help of a great supportive cast, the two begin to rediscover each other. The plot moves along nicely behind the setting at John Hopkins medical university. It’s a beautiful story about starting over, courage, and love!

I love a good story about how and why two people can know each other for years, but somehow their happily ever after cannot coordinate until the right moment . Perfect Timing nails that with Lynn and Maggie’s situation of obstacles such as work, school, and people constantly getting in their way despite their open interest in each other. Both women are honorable and devoted in regards to their responsibilities that you literally feel their heartbreak when they are faced with the reality of hard choices. This book plays heavily into all of humanity’s feels, and not just love and passion. There’s the sting of jealousy and the sadness of rejection, but there is also the lift of hope that keeps you glued to the pages to see what happens next. The intrigue of their story goes deep into their history as we are gloriously allowed back story in flashbacks through both their memories which allows the emotions you feel for them to really set root because of the time and distance of their journey. You gain an appreciation for the intense drama in the fallout of their difficult choices, and ultimately in the intense passion for each other when they are finally allowed to let go and be together. Heavy sighs… This is a really good book with a terrific love story and yummy sexy bits! I loved the flirtation and the build up to the romance, which was a delight. I adored Lynn and wanted her happiness most of all. I could understand how Lynn felt when it came to her indecision with Cassie but I also thought maybe Lynn should have been sterner than she was with both her ex and Cassie, who was a bit of a spoiled, self-centered b*tch… But then again, that would have made the story different and maybe it wouldn’t have worked… I don’t know, I just know other than that I really liked the book and the ending was perfect!
