A Dream Within a Dream is the third book in the Coffey and Hill series. I was so excited to see it on the list of new releases. The thing I like best about Mike Nappa's writing is the lack of predictability. Each story is unique, filled with his unique sense of humor, and plenty of intrigue. Melissa Kosci is a new-to-me author, and I am sure her contributions to this book were equally valuable.
While this book would work as a stand-alone read, some dialogue will be best understood with having read the prior books in the series, the book as a whole will make sense and be an enjoyable read. I will admit I was into Chapter Four before I had a clear idea of what was transpiring, but I trusted Nappa enough to hang in until the picture became clear. I rate this book five stars for the enjoyment I had reading it, the plot, character development, and dialogue. I am grateful to have received a copy from Revell via NetGalley in exchange for my honest opinion. I was under no obligation to provide a positive review, and received no monetary compensation.
Dream within a dream was the best book I've read in a long time! It was full of intrigue, drama, and mystery and literally had you guessing along with the characters until the very end of the book. Along with the mystery and suspense it was a story of love, friendship, forgiveness, and trust. I would highly recommend this book!
This whole series is fascinating and this book did not disappoint. It was very well done. I am old fashioned and do wish that two of the characters had not divorced but overall, it is highly recommended.
I have been longing for another book in the Coffey & Hill series. Thank goodness it is finally here! I adore Trudi Coffey. She is like my favorite female heroine ever. I want to be like her. She is tough and tender and has a quick wit too. Now, for Samuel, he grew on me. The Pig. This story has lots of action, mystery and suspense with some heart warming scenes too. I literally couldn't put it down. I hope this isn't the final book. Please say it ain't so!! I want more. I thoroughly enjoyed it and I recommend it to all mystery/suspense reader who love some quick witted humor and banter.
*I was given a copy by the publisher and this is my honest opinion.
