Judith Arnold could write the weather forecast and make it seems extraordinary and funny. Full bloom is located in New-York. But the themes are universal. How families stay together, how even your closest relatives are sometimes totally against you , how , despiste all your efforts, you can never please every single person you meet in the day. You read the book, and you keep marvelling at the richness of the descriptions, the pace of the dialogues, and then ... you smile or laugh. I truly appreciated the absence of sarcasm or easy sense of humour on other people 's back. A great time spent reading, I would recommend the fun to anyone !

This book was physically painful to slog through. So slow moving about a family whom was entitled due to the hard work of their predecessors. A few light moments but I found myself excited for it to end.
This book was hard to put down. I devoured it in two sittings. The story was so captivating it made you not want it to end. I love it!
In true-to-life fashion, the author has conveyed all of the intricacies of family life. She resurrects the Bloom family (from previous books) to bring another chapter in their saga. The drama definitely feels real...from the jealousy to the protectiveness, the nitpicking to forming alliances. You don't have to live on the Upper West Side to be able to relate to this family!
This was such a great read and captures the intricate relationships within a Jewish family that works together at their family business perfectly. The jealousy and also the loyalty of the members of this family were written so realistically. This is a great read that I highly recommend!
Since I lived for many years on Broadway and 81st Street, I quickly realized that the book was inspired by Zabars. So, from start to finish I loved this homage to my favorite store (still is) and the fractured family that runs it.
Without a doubt this is a delight for even non-upperwestders to read. It’s a lovely story of a typical dysfunctional Jewish family coping with jealousy, change and complicated relationships. So much fun to read, with very likable characters. At times it’s laughable, as Arnold taps into the archetypes that make up the Bloom family. I especially loved her descriptions of the newly botoxed mother and the uber-politically correct Aunt.
I know that all the folks in my Upper Westside book club will love it, as well as many other groups. This will go right on my email to my friends in Florida.
Thank you Netgalley for this absolutely delicious read.
