The author's writing was wonderful. They manage to put details in without making it boring; I was thoroughly engaged throughout the whole book. The characters were interesting, though I wasn't as connected with them. Instead of feeling invested in the characters, I felt more like an outsider getting a glimpse into a very interesting story. I think that this is definitely a better book for people in high school, since it is incredibly introspective. Trigger warnings for abortion being mentioned in the story.
