I have been a fan of Quarto's books about the United States for a while, but since I have a soft spot for National Parks, this has been my favorite thus far.
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Great book for kids who might be traveling to these parks are want to.
Really loved this and so did my kids. It added to our previous trips to the parks and helped us look forward to new adventures in the future.
Wide Eyed books are some of my faves and this was another great one. I wish they were longer and I hope that the pages are perforated. Thank you to Netgalley for providing the digital copy.
National Parks of the USA: Activity Book would be a great addition to any library's non fiction collection. The illustrations are wonderful and the book is brimming with a variety of activities for a range of interests.
Here is an activity book perfect for when traveling to the park, working while outside enjoying nature or whenever you want. This has many activities from nature facts and park trivia to puzzles and quizzes along with coloring. There is more too! Some of the parks mentioned in this book are Glacier Bay, Yellowstone, Yosemite, Hawai’i volcanoes and Everglades. You will find activities featuring animals and park information. The activities include mazes, designing a park, work search, crossword, spot the difference, True and False, fill in the blank and more. There is also a national park pull-out poster. This activity book is colorful and well designed with a nice variety of activities. The illustrations are beautiful. We recommend this book. This is best for elementary age.
This is a super fun educational book for children. It is jam packed with all sort of fun activities but it also allows the reader to learn more about the national parks without it being to intense or boring. Perfect!
Such a perfect activity book for kids or the whole family! Definitely would bring along on all road trips.
I assumed this book would be interesting to younger people but found that even at my age...I'm a grandmother...the authors have done an excellent job of bringing together learning materials along with activities to make any trip to the National Parks much more enjoyable. Not only did we use the book on our trips, we used it to help plan the activities along the way.
Huge fan of the national park system, current pass holder (though because of COVID-19, had to cancel my Yosemite trip) and parent of proud junior rangers! So excited about this book but now woefully disappointed with it.
No complaints on the charming art and the opening pages. However, it's a very thin volume and the activities didn't seem to stretch far on variety. The best part is the national park map.
Retailing around $10 USD at a Walmart or Target, I would rather put my money to other activity books in the book store of a national park so they can better benefit and my child can have something of stronger edutainment quality.
National parks of the USA activity book by Claire Grace and Kaite Siber Is an awesome activity book for children. The illustrations are great and the activities are fun. This book has tons of puzzles and fun facts about animals and plants in the national parks. This would make a great gift for any child.
There is an impressive range of puzzles in the book including code breakers, word searches, crosswords, mazes, spot the difference puzzles and more. Geared to 7-10 year olds, this title will keep kids happily occupied and entertained. It is colorfully illustrated and engaging. Definitely worth a look.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.
Both my grandchildren had a lot of fun with all the activities provided while learning all kinds of cool and interesting facts. It's great for taking along on car rides and especially great at giving them a break from screen time. Not only is it parent approved but its kids approved as well. A definite win win.
What an awesome activity book! Perfect for family road trips to National Parks. The illustrations are gorgeous and activities look fun. It's chock full of information about animals and park environments. I would have loved this as a kid as my favorite vacations were to National Parks. I would suggest this for children 7 and up, especially ones who love animals!
Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group-Wide Eyed Editions for providing this ARC.
Siber's activity book is filled with colorful illustrations of the animals, trees, and scenery kids will find in national parks. It would be a great gift for any road trip.
Thank you NetGalley and Quarto Publishing Group-Wide Eyed Editions for the opportunity to read an advance reading copy.
This adorable, wonderfully illustrated activity book will pair perfectly with Kate Siber's National Parks of the USA nonfiction picture book. While an activity book doesn't lend itself for library usage, I would recommend this activity book to any students/parents that enjoyed the original picture book. This would be a great book to complete together as a family while learning about and/or traveling around the US.
This is excellent for kids, the 8 year old grandchild loved the setup, and I even liked the facts included about each park, not overwhelming, but piquing more interest.
A lot of interactives making it a joy to actually learn a bit about the habitat, occupants, and wonders of each park.
Would recomend this no matter what, but especially if going on any road trips in the USA. Having the actual physical book, keeping the kid(s) entertained, along with the anticipation of seeing anything indigenous to a particular area, will make a vacation even more memorable for both kids and their adults.
This ebook was even good, though we couldn't actually write on the screen. It was time very well spent with the grand, and they didn't realize they were learning lol. Rated 5 stars by the Grand, and 4 from me bc I would've liked to have been able to know how to write in the ebook.
This book is well laid out and somewhat interesting. I think my family will enjoy it this summer on a cross country road trip.
Simple but great resource for a beginner or for a trip. The activities will suit a variety of age and skill levels. The artwork is detailed and uses complementary colors.
An absolute visually stunning book! This is most beautifully illustrated activity book I've ever seen. There is a great blend of different types of activities from code breakers, mazes and even a create your own park. The puzzles are challenging enough for older children but not so much that with the help of an adult, younger children can enjoy as well. The colorful but muted illustrations help to attract interest but doesn't take away from the activities. A fun book on it's own but pairs wonderfully with "National Parks of the USA" by Kate Siber.
Thank you Quarto Publishing & Netgalley for the ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.
