Donna Grant's novel "Flame" is her next bestseller in her DARK KINGS story. It's a story of love and trust; betrayal and subterfuge. Noreen was a Dark Fae who had a score to settle with the Dragon Kings. Cain was sent to scrutinize Noreen and her story. Although he wasn't looking for his mate, sparks fly. Meanwhile we discover who Con, the King of Dragon Kings, true mate is. Donna Grant finally gives it up and divulges the answer to her readers number one question. Add in "the Others" who work to further their plans to finish off all of the Kings. To say the least this book kept me reading well into the night. I had fun riding on the back of a dragon through the ups and downs of a wonderful story. Thank you NetGalley for gifting me this arc book.

Cain and Noreen are great leading characters! Cain is pretty straight-forward as Dragons go but Noreen? Oh that woman has secrets, layers and layers of secrets! Just when you think you have her sussed, blam another secret. This book just gives more weight to the old saying "Don't judge a book by its cover". Another example of that is Ubitch - I mean she is just rotten to the core!

I'm now on tenterhooks for the last Dragon Kings book. I'm torn - I want the conclusion to the story arc, to know EXACTLY what happened and when. I need to know that my faith in Ubitch being the worst baddie in the world is justified LOL!

Please read this series in order, along with its offshoots. It just helps so much to keep Dragon Kings, Mates and assorted other characters straight in your head.

PS I do hope ol' JusticeBringer is sharpening his skills - I think his time to shine draws near!

Wow! Action-packed, information overload, hot hot hot!
Cain is a King that takes his time, watches and sees all sides. So when he comes across an email with information that may just help them in their battle against the others, he volunteers without question. He does not however expect to be drawn to the Dark that sent it. He feels a need to keep her safe from her former group, whilst getting all the information she can provide.
Noreen has spent her entier life hating the Kings, plotting to destroy then with glee. Until she discovers that all is not what it seems, and she sets out to bring them down. Atleast from and information point of view. She finds herself drawn to Cain. He is a strong, magnificent creature in Dragon form and a caring, protective man. Their relationship will be hard, enemies are everywhere as the final battles draw nearer and the allies gather.
This is not a story that you will want to miss, the end is getting closer and no one should miss a single book! Well done to the Donna Grant! Outstanding, five fire-breathing stars!

Omg! Donna Grant has done it once again. I love her Dragon King series and this book made me fall in love all over again.

This book was given to me by the publisher to review. All opinions are my own.

Flame: A Dragon Kings Novel is amazing! This was my first step into the Dragin King world and I enjoyed it immensely.

The plot twists and character development had me turning page after page wanting more. I've never read any of the other series so I felt I missed out on a lot of the history, but I could still understand what was going on.

Noreen struggles with her own identity and doesn't believe she can truly be happy. Cain is loyal to his brothers, but when fate brings Noreen into his life, will he have to choose?

This is an wonderfully written novel and has set the stage for the finale. So I guess I need to go back and read the other 16!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review. OMG another awesome book in The Dark Kings series. So sad that it will soon be ending. Can't wait to read the next book.

This is the 17th book in this series and the next book is the last book in this series. In this book the author starts tying up lose ends and gives the reader more background information about the Dragon Kings, the Faye and the others. I have loved this series and could not put this book down. I kept trying to turn the kindle page as I did not think I was at the end of this book and I wanted more. I am hoping for more spin-off books to this series as I do not want it to end. Highly recommend this series

I fell in love with the Dark Kings series and have devoured every one of them. Then I went back and read the series that came before it and all the other spin-offs. Of course, I devoured this one. I so enjoyed Cain and Noreen's story.

I admit to be unhappy about this being the next to the last in the series. I do hope more spin-offs happen in the world. I enjoy it too much to leave it. At least there is rereading that can take me back here.

This book has the same great writing as you'd expect from Donna Grant. I enjoy her little twists and turns. This one had a few more than normal. Lots of little details coming out about things I have wondered and guessed at for quite a while. One I guessed correctly, one I was stunned at and some that I hadn't considered. The really incredible thing about this author is how she can turn the series on a dime and make you rethink things that have happened in previous books. This is one of those books. I enjoy that about this series.

As for Cain and Noreen, they are an unusual pairing. I won't give a thing away, but I will say that Noreen is dark fae. Yeah, don't expect that knowing that tells you one thing about Noreen because it doesn't. Every time I think I had her figured out, a twist changed my perspective. It definitely makes you realize that you shouldn't judge anyone. Besides not knowing where they came from, you have know idea what they've been through. I like that.

I read this several months before release and when I finished I just paced. I wanted the next one even though that's the ending. I need more. I also want another reaper story. There is one in particular that I want. If I could make a request, I would but I have a feeling it's going to happen. That's all I'll say about that.

Of course you will want to read this if you've a Dark Kings fan. I wouldn't jump into this book if you haven't read the main books in the series. But it's a good excuse to start this series. I read it before any of the other spin offs and fell in love. Romance, magic, dragons, fae, and more - who could ask for more. Not this reader.

Loved this book. The hole what’s going to happen next thing threw the book was great. The different POV I loved. And the reveal of the two girls was crazy but exciting to see what comes of it. Can’t wait for the next book in the series.

Another great release in the dragon king series. This is Cain and Noreen’s story. Cain is one of the last of the dragons to find his mate. This story not only tells his finding a mate but also gears it up for the final release which is Con’s story. This book sets up the final battle with their enemy’s and introduces Noreen who will play a part in the war with Moreann & Usaeil.
So excited to finally get Con’s story and to see where DG takes us next!

I was really looking forward to reading this book!!

Usually I can't put the books down in this book series but this book was not like that for me. I will be honest in that as soon as I see a Donna Grant book has been released I am straight in to reading it, and I will put down my current read to start any of her new releases, and I did the same with this one - but I found this to be a much slower start to the story than the other books in the series and the story I didn't feel really started until around 50% through the book.

It was still a very good read and enjoyable after it picked up and I am still giving it a high rating but I did feel that this was possibly a book too far in the series - it was good in that it started to wrap to the loose ends and was tying things up but you can tell the end of the series is near now and it did in places feel like she had dragged this one out and I was genuinely a little disappointed as I have given nearly all the other books in the series 5 stars!

This is a book that needs to be read in order with the other books in the series and I don't think it would work too well as a standalone with it effectively being quite a mop up book of what has gone on earlier in the series.

It is 4 stars from me for this one, I am really looking forward now to seeing how the series gets wrapped up - that is one book that I am definitely waiting for!!

Flame is amazing. I laughed, I cried, I cried some more. There is so much content in this book and I don't want to spoil any of it but know that you can NOT miss this book. It is amazing. I know a lot of my sadness comes from how close we are to the end of the series. This universe is one that I am not ready to leave. You will LOVE this book!! Trust me!! Go, go buy it right now!!

Holy cow and wow, ok so much to talk about, but I’m not gonna lol. This one will rock your world. Reach for the stars as this page turner gets you on the edge of your seat. Keep them coming.

I really liked the world and all the different characters and what they were but I think you definitely need to read the many books that are in the series to really understand everything going on. I did enjoy the conflict and the Dragon Kings are definitely awesome and having Dark fae and Light was interesting too. The romance was actually what I didn't enjoy, it was too insta-lovey for my taste, I think they knew each other for a day and already were in love. I know not much time passed when Cain already told Noreen that she was his mate. There were also very cheesy conversations that made me roll my eyes. But it's definitely not a bad read, just not great for me in the romance department. It did have some steamy scenes for those that enjoy that sort of thing. If you are a fan of this series I definitely recommend reading this one. There are some very important bits.

Donna Grant has done it again! This highly anticipated Dark King novel is the 17th book in her very successful series. This book centers around the Dragon King, Cain, and a dark fae named Noreen, who has ties with the Others. As with all the books, we learn more about who is trying to destroy the Kings and why. We also learn alot more about our favorite characters from previous books. There are so many pieces that fall into place with this book and so many more to anticipate! This is a must read for fans of Donna Grant.

This series keeps getting better and all the twists and turns in the story line keep you on your toes. Noreen is a dark Fae that has been part of the Others, the not so nice group after the Dragon Kings, but she’s experienced a recent change of heart. After sending an anonymous email to the Dragon Kings she thinks she’s done but lo and behold they send one of their own out to investigate. Cain seems interested in Noreen, feeling she’s telling the truth about her regret. Along their journey to the truth there is an instant attraction between the two that almost seems spell binding, but all is not as it seems. This story continues on after the Big Battle and you get to see more of what is truly going on between the Fae, the Others and the Dragon Kings. There’s so much behind the scenes stuff that some of the romance between Noreen and Cain has been downplayed (compared to other couples), but there is sill a lot of heat. For greatest enjoyment you really need to read the other books in the series as there is only so much that the author can explain but there is lots of intrigue and excitement of what’s to come and the relationship is a bit steamy too. Can’t wait for the next one. 4 stars. I received an arc copy of this book from NetGalley for my honest review

I have to admit that I've never read the prior Dark Kings novels but I had an opportunity to review and ARC from NetGalley and I took it. And oh my goodness, what have I been missing? This was a fast moving, interesting and great story. I think that people who have kept up with the story would probably understand all the twists a little better than me and know the characters who keep popping up but I'm not going to blame the author for my failings. What I do know that even with my limited knowledge, this book kept my attention and makes me want to go and read all the other stories in the series.

There's a lot going on in this book. Noreen, a dark fae, decides she cannot abide by the evil that her group is trying to spew. She tries to warn the Dark Kings (DRAGONS! and her enemy) and Cain, one of the Kings, is sent to assess her truthfulness and protect her. He and she of course are attracted to each other and during their escape, we learn a lot about the history of this war. There's so much happening in this book that I didn't want to put it down. All of it comes to a head prior to them getting their HFN but of course, the story must go on. At least I'll have a little time to get caught up with the story before the next one comes out!

ARC received for review

4.5 stars

Oh my goodness! Oh my goodness! So much stuff happens, but no spoilers here....

Cain and Noreen are perfect for an enemies to lovers story. Noreen is part of the Others, or is she? Great romance between the two of them. Plus we find out what happened to UB!tch, Rhi, and Balledyn. We learn more about Moreann and the Others. Erith and the Reapers make several appearances. Of course, the bad gal gets away. We are so close to finding out who Rhi's Dragon King is....

This ARC was received through NetGalley for an honest review, any and all opinions are strictly my own and no way reflect the opinions of the author or the publisher.

This rollercoaster of ride begins with a Dark Fae, Noreen, sending a warning email to Dreagan which is read by Cain. After meeting Noreen, Cain has to hide her from the Others which becomes problematic since she is being tracked. Once she is safe and the beans begin to spill about the Others, other revelations begin coming to light.

The couple are great, but the back-story bombs are the best. So many story arcs are tied up or a few more puzzle pieces are added so you can see more of the picture. All the back stabbing and double crosses that you didn’t see coming… it was hard not to get whip-lash. For those who familiar with the Dark World. Rhi’s DK has not been officially named yet….BUT you do get to learn all about the Others, the fate of those who fell during the battle at the Light Castle, why humans were brought to this realm and so much more. It is a must read.
