I'd not heard of this author before but really hope to hear of her in the future. I really enjoyed this light-hearted novel. Who hasn't felt the need to get away from the mundane obligations and the interfering of our families? Who hasn't started with an innocent white lie that quickly spirals out of control? Lucy's decision to take her sister's spare honeymoon (who has one of those?) means she has to pretend to be newly married to continue to stay in the hotel. Her adventures are fun and engaging and had me turning the pages quickly until I finished this enjoyable book.

Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. Lucy’s sister gets married and since she is a planner, she double booked everything, including a honeymoon. Conveniently, she forgot to cancel her second honeymoon so Lucy, against her norm, heads to London. When she arrives, she realizes she is staying in a couples only, honeymoon resort. Thankfully, Lucy’s best friend looked up an old classmate to keep an eye on Lucy while she was there. Cary ends up posing as Lucy’s husband. Cute story with a fun mystery to boot! #honeymoonalone #nicolemacaulay

This was a nice afternoon read. I enjoyed reading it even though I could predict what would happen before it did. All in all this was a pleasant read. I recommend this for chicklit lovers who are looking for a quick read.

An engrossing read that charts the journey of personal growth people go on. Being written in first person it kept the reader guessing and in the dark as much as the characters, which made for a very engaging and fun read. A book that is so easy to binge on in one or two settings as you want to know what happens next.

This was a cute book, it reminded me a lot of the book The Unhoneymooners. The characters were great and the story was wonderful but there were a few things missing for me. I wanted more build up between Lucy and Oliver, while you got the hint something was there I just wish there had been more. I also wish the ended had an epilogue into their lives after, I would have loved a catch-up. But I enjoyed the quirkiness and the banter but would have loved more steam, given the fact that our main character is supposed to be married I get why there wasn’t however. All in all I enjoyed this book, it was a great read and a cute romance.

A nice idea for a romance., which is what drew me to the book in the first plsce. The execution needs a little work but overall enjoyable.

Honeymoon Alone was a cute and entertaining read, but the characters all felt a bit one dimensional. I wish that the family blog aspect had been used to provide more background info on the family. Overall, it was a sweet, light-hearted romance.

Light, fluffy, romance reads are right up my alley, so when I saw Honeymoon Alone available, I was so excited to read it. This books was super fun and flirty, full of light-hearted drama. It read like a cheesy Lifetime or Hallmark movie, which I quite liked. I liked Lucy as the main character, and reading about her travels really brought me joy especially because of the current quarantine).

But while I thought the book was fun to read and live vicariously through Lucy, I found myself forgetting parts of the book soon after finishing it. So it was fun to read in the moment, but easily forgettable.

Overall I'd give it 3 stars

Finding herself dumped at her sister's wedding, Lucy escapes to London to find herself and have a new adventure. Told through the first person, she begins experiencing new things. This was a fun, light read that I read quickly.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy of "Honeymoon Alone" in return for an honest review.

Lucy Gray is part of a very large family and always does what's expected of her. That is until her sister forgot to cancel backup honeymoon arrangements in London. Lucy decides it's her chance to go on an adventure.

"Honeymoon Alone" was a cute, lighthearted story about Lucy's journey to discover more about herself, while meeting handsome men along the way. The story was a little slow at first and I have to admit, I initially found Lucy a little annoying. That did change though once she started to grow as a character in London. I thought the plot was a little predictable, I caught the twist with certain characters pretty quickly. That said, in the end the story was fun and readers will enjoy watching Lucy grow as a character.

This was just okay for me, I really wanted to enjoy this but I just couldn't stand her family. Just way to over bearing for me.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance read, voluntarily read and reviewed all opions are my own

This was a very cute, fun read. It was quick, well-paced, and all-around enjoyable. I think the story could have had a little more depth to it, which is ultimately what brought it down from a 5 star for me. It reminded me a little of a Meg Cabot book, in a good way. A fun, quirky main character is always a draw for me. I would definitely recommend this to people.

This was a fun, light read. Lucy was a characters I can relate to: sheltered, quirky, funny.
I really enjoyed Lucy's story but her family was so overbearing it ruined the story for me to a degree.
I know the characrters were meant to be unlikeable, but it was a bit too much. Still an enjoyable quick fun read.

Predictable Lucy is just that... predictable. But when the date she brought to her sister’s wedding publicly ends up with someone else there, Lucy finds herself in the psychic's tent as a means of escaping. The psychic tells her to stop avoiding the signs of fate, and wedding psychics are absolutely reliable, right? Wrong. Lucy decides that while she's ignoring fate, she'll also ignore the psychic. Watering plants at her sister's house one day, Lucy discovers that her sister, who booked two honeymoons because she couldn't decide which one she wanted to go on, never cancelled the second option to London. Is this the sign the psychic was talking about? Lucy decides that it is, and so begins her whirlwind adventure in London, her honeymoon alone. This was absolutely adorable & absolutely fun! The writing was incredibly real & I laughed out loud at multiple parts. This book is everything you want in a romcom. Thank you to the author, the publisher, and Netgalley for my review copy.

Thank you to BooksGoSocial and NetGalley for an ARC (or rather, a free review copy, as I received it after the book was published), in exchange for an honest review.

This was a light and fun read, and the author really made the main character come alive. Although I did get a bit fed up with her absolute naiveté and general cluelessness, her overall sweetness of character made up for it. I loved the way the family relationships were brought into the story as well. The build-up to the crime caper she got involved in, and its denouement, were very foreseeable, but this did not detract from my enjoyment in the least. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Sorry but this just isn’t my kind of book.. it is so ‘sweet’ that it’s saccharine. The ‘bog’ was just so teeth grindingly awful that I cringed every time I read it. I couldn’t engage with the heroine or her family at all and I was simply bored. It’s not badly written although some judicious editing would have helped stop the meandering style perhaps. Just not to my taste - hence the 2 stars.
