The author's raw honesty about her past experiences with abuse made this such an inspiring read. As a psychology student, I have always been interested in learning more about why men and women stay in abusive relationships, especially with children. The author conveys how difficult it is for the abused to leave and offers practical advice from her own experiences to assist those looking for hope in their hopeless situation. This is an inspiring read. I highly recommend it!

This book may give some hope to people who are suffering in this way. It is a brave story told in detail by the author (more of a biography than a self help book). But maybe it will be in the details that it will resonate with people suffering similar abuse and encourage them to seek help.. Difficult to read in places as it is so dark, but it is a story that needs to be told, and will help those who believe they are the only ones suffering.
