It was an okay read for me. It started out really good but I didn't like the ending. I love the sisters but at times hated them but in the end they came together that is what I like most about the book.
Danielle Steel has another great book under her belt. I have been reading her books since I was in high school - and they are always so good. Daddy's Girls is about three sisters who were raised by their father. They are three very different girls - and all have very different personalities Three sisters who grew up on a ranch in California. They took very different roads in life. When their father dies suddenly, deep dark family secrets come to light. How they each deal with it is inspiring.
Well developed characters, original storyline, fun read.
Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to read a copy of this book.
You can always count on a good ol' #daniellesteele novel to sweep you away from reality ❤️ #Netgalley #netgalleyreview #daddysgirls #bookstagram three sisters lose their father and in his death is their rebirth. As they grow up together. Find a horrible secret that their daddy hid from them how can these three move forward? You're heart grows to love these three ladies. All different. Yet. Sisters. As they each remember the different ways their daddy loved them and treated them they must learn to come together and be together. While this is a great escape I found that some bits got repetitive for word filler. It wasn't awful. But. It did get annoying. For a light wholesome read of family. Death. Love. And. Of course more love. Grab this book and get swallowed up in it. #chicklit #beachread #summerreading #summerrelease #bookreader #booksofinstagram #queenofromamnce #sunshine #love #thisisfortyone #thisislifewithautoimmunediseases #booknerd
Daddy’s Girls is classic Danielle Steel! As a daddy’s girl myself with 4 sisters sit an interesting read on how a child can turn out having the same parent. Thanks to NetGalley and the author and her publisher for letting me read an advanced copy of Daddy’s Girls.
First off, I love each and every one of Danielle's books -- they are all so special to me!! I feel so blessed to have had such a journey with her. I feel like her writing gets better and better with each book. I also love how she explored sisters fiction with this one. You always know you are going to love her endings and this one did not disappoint!!
3 sisters almost starting over.
Sisters Kate, Caroline, and Gemma have not been close since they were young. The death of their father brings them back together again and stronger than ever.
Also, at that same time, their lives take a major hit. A major bump on the road that turns their lives upside down and forces hard decisions that are practically like starting over.
I liked this book generally. I was really happy to see the bond of the sister's relationship come back together but the decisions made to solve their individual life issues were sort of disappointing to me...but it's not my life... I felt only partially satisfied with the sisters' outcomes.
Overall, it was a fine read
Daddy’s Girls is a wonderful story about three sisters who aren’t very close but come together after the sudden passing of their father. Kate,Gemma,& Caroline live very different lives but realize quickly how much they enjoy spending time together . After years of believing their mother was dead they find out their father had lied to them and were eager to find her and get the answers they were searching for. While facing career decisions the sisters find love and happiness .
This is a wonderful story about family which includes love and heartbreak .
Daddy's Girls explores the relationship a father has with each one of 3 girls. Its a cozy family story that everyone will find a connection to. Kate, the oldest, is her father's right hand girl. Gemma, the middle, has always been referred to as "Daddy's Girl" yet she's spread her wings and is out in the world chasing her dream. Caroline, the baby, never really had a relationship that she enjoyed with him. Each is brought to the ranch that the family owns for an event and they become even closer. Thank you Netgalley for the advance copy, all opinions are my own.
Daddy’s Girls by Danielle Steel gives us the story of three sisters after the death of their father. Each had their own unique relationship with their father, but what will it mean when they discover new truths? How will their relationships change? Eve as each was going through their own issues individually, we also see as they navigated the death and grief of their father. A story about family, loss, grief and so much more.
Happy reading!
Daddy’s Girls is a light contemporary novel featuring three dissimilar sisters. Each of them had a different relationship with their father who was large and in charge. Their father moved them from Texas when they were all under four to California. JT, their father, eventually came to own 10,000 acres in Santa Ynez Valley, California. Kate loves the ranch and has ideas to improve it, but her father is the one in control. Gemma left at eighteen for Hollywood where she is now the lead actress on a television series. Gemma has a temperament just like JT and has no qualms about sharing her views with him. Caroline loved to read from a young age. She felt that her father did not understand her and ignored her. Caroline could not wait to escape the ranch and find culture in the city. She is happily married with two children of her own and writes young adult novels. They rarely visit despite having their own home on the ranch. With JT’s death, the three sisters must go through their father’s papers and belongings. Papers in the safe send them on a journey. I thought the story contained Danielle Steel’s trademark writing, but I did feel that the story was expected. It is easy to figure out how each sisters story will play out. There was quite a bit of repetition of details. Daddy’s Girls has a lovely feel good ending. I was, though, disappointed with how Caroline’s story turned out. It seemed like a step back for Caroline. Daddy’s Girls is a feel-good novel that was a good break for me from other types of books that I read. Daddy’s Girls is a lovely respite from reality and a relaxing way to spend an afternoon.
I wanted to give this book 5 stars but one thing bothered me throughout the book. That was calling the father either Jimmy or JT. Every paragraph was different and it was confusing at first until you realized it was the same person.
Decades ago, after the death of his wife, Texas ranch hand JT Tucker took his three small daughters to California to start a new life.
JT's relationship with each daughter was entirely different. Caroline, the youngest and most reserved, was overlooked by her father for her entire life and fled to become a wife, mother, and writer in Marin County. Gemma, his declared favorite, sought out Hollywood glamour and success and became a major television star. Kate, the eldest, stayed at home with her father to do his bidding as a ranch hand, without thanks or praise, forsaking marriage and a family of her own for the love of him.
He dies suddenly at 64. Then they go into his safe and the papers in there tell a different story than what they grew up believing.
Even though he had a favorite daughter and treated them all different they didn't treat each other different or resent each other. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.
I received this from NetGalley for review.
A captivating tale of sisterhood filled with emotional turmoil, gut wrenching realities and that happily ever after punch that can only be delivered in a beloved novel by the queen of romance herself! DADDY'S GIRLS delivers the raw emotion that we can always count on in a Danielle Steel novel with several jaunts into happily ever after. I was spellbound from page one and happily refused to put it down.
Jimmy "JT" Tucker was the epitome of a self-made man and took pride in the California ranch that he built from the ground up over the years. He was a hard man, but approachable to certain people in his life. Upon his sudden death, his three daughters are left to pick up the pieces and come to grips with their unresolved feelings about the relationship they each shared with their father and how to deal with the secrets they stumble across that could change their lives forever.
Kate came across as easily likable. She worked at her father's side her entire life basking in nature and her love of the land. She knew her father best because she was there day in and day out but their relationship was far from close knit.
Gemma shows her spoiled side from the get go and makes you think you can't possibly relate to her and her divaness ... but she quickly grows and becomes more personable. She was her father's favorite ... and he never was shy about screaming that from the rooftops.
Caroline came across as cold, but as her story unfolds, we understand her more. She was the youngest and the forgotten. She was quick to leave the ranch and set out in her own life as a wife, mother and writer and never really looked back.
Three sisters reconnect and prosper as life moves forward after turmoil. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of a family centric saga with heartache and romance woven in brilliantly.

4.25 Hearts So it’s Danielle Steel, if you are a fan of the genre of course you know the story is great.
This story is about family and the relationship dynamics between sisters and the different relationship they have with their father. How can three girls grow up with the same dad and have completely different feelings towards him and about him?
As with every Danielle Steel book there is real life thrown into her stories. You will definitely connect with at least one of the girls and maybe all of them in some form or another.
Steel is the queen of her genre and any fan grabs her stories as soon as they come on the market and this is one you will love adding to your collection.

Three girls grow up on a ranch and take three different turns in life. Gemma went to Hollywood and became a famous actress. Caroline went to college, got married with two children and became a children's author. Then there was Kate, she stayed on the ranch and become a helper to her father on the ranch. When their father dies from a heart attack it brings the girls back to the ranch and gives them an opportunity to reevaluate their lives.
This is another successful novel from Danielle Steel. It would be a great beach read!!!
After the death of his wife, JT and his three daughters as they leave Texas and head to California. Kate, Gemma and Caroline are now adults and dealing with the death of their father as they find out things about their dad they never knew. This is an emotional read filled with family drama, angst, secrets, intrigue and a perfect ending. Daddy's Girls is a heartbreakingly beautiful, have a Kleenex handy kind of story and I loved every delicious page.
J.T. has worked hard his entire life. He is as stubborn as a mule but his daughters have always still loved him in their own way, just as he loved them in his own way. When J.T. dies suddenly, the three daughters discover secrets their dad kept from them. Together, they go through emotions of anger, sadness, love, and finally closure.
I usually enjoy reading Danielle Steel novels because they're like a Hallmark movie to me. While this storyline gave me that sense, I feel like a lot of details were repetitive. I seemed as if the story was rushed to be finalized. Other than that, I think it was a good book.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
Another winner. Utterly unputdownable. I always make sure that I have lots of time because once I start reading you're not prying it out of my hands. Vivid with a well written seamless plot you will absolutely love this gem of a book. A must read and keep the Kleenex handy. Way to make a girl sniffle. Happy reading!
I really enjoyed this stand-alone novel by Danielle Steel! It is about 3 sisters and what they go through after their dad dies and leave the ranch to the three sisters. They also find out their mom never died and reconnect with her. Overall, I love this story about the 3 sisters, their lives, and what they do together. I love this author's characters!!
Another riveting story from Danielle Steel. I couldn't put it down.
You empathize with the main characters, three sisters who were raised by a domineering single dad. He died unexpectedly at 64 of a heart attack. Upon opening the safe in their father's ranch office and discovering a family secret, their lives will never be the same. Their grief brings them back together and strengthens their relationship.
It's a story of redemption, discovery, forgiveness, and love. A great beach read that you'll want to be sure to add to your "to be read " shelf.
I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinions.
Kate, Gemma and Caroline Tucker are Daddy’s girls. When they were very young, their father JT moved them to California from Texas after their mother’s death. Driven by ambition and hard work, he created a huge, financially successful ranch. Now, years later, they rarely see each other. Kate helps JT run the ranch. Gemma, the middle daughter, is a successful actor whose long run on a TV series is coming to an end. The youngest daughter Caroline is a young adult novelist, happily married with two children.
JT’s sudden death changes everything. When the women come together to go through their father’s papers, they uncover a long buried secret that will change their lives. As they spend the summer together on the ranch, each will face decisions that will affect their futures. Their newly strengthened bond helps them make choices and help each other.
No one knows families like Danielle Steele. She knows the pain secrets cause. She understands estrangement, reconciliation and the power of love. She has poured all of those things into Daddy’s Girls. 5 stars.
Thanks to NetGalley, Random House and Danielle Steel for this ARC.
