Shelly Laurenston is great and I LOVE this series. She writes great storylines that are funny, sexy and full of strong women! I am so excited to have more badger stories too!
LOVED THIS BOOK! I was absolutely dying for max to get a book and it did not disappoint!!
Hilarious, sexy and just plain fun to read!!
This is another amazing book by Shelly Laurenston. I am really enjoyed all three sisters books, but this one was my favorite. I love getting to see old favorites from the Pride series and I can wait to see what’s next. This can be read as a stand-alone but I would recommend reading the other two books in the trilogy first.
Conclusion of the Honey Badger Chronicles??? I don't know but I hope a certain family of brothers get their own series. I loved the series absolutely hysterical at every turn. I read a comedic shifter book and I just assume it's going to be like Shelley's books (un)fortunately no one writes like her, which leads to some disappointing reads.
I LOVED THIS BOOK!! I knew Max would be worth the wait and Ze is so chill compared to her it's a nice balance
I now love Honeybadgers. This story is about Max and Charles. Charles is a shifter that does not know anything about shifters much less that he is one. Max discovers Charles and decides to help h. Charles understand that Max is in danger and decides to help her. This is the third installment in the Honey Badger series. Shelly Laurenston is a great writer and each book makes you laugh out loud. I was unable to out the book down and hated for it to end
This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.
How can you not love those crazy killer MacKilligan sisters!! We have already seen Charlie and Stevie meet their mates and now it is Max's turn and she has a whole other side that we find out about. After she meets Ze, she keeps looking for her no good father while managing to juggle her search for answers for Ze, keeping up with her basketball team mates, and try to stay away from her cousin who is only one of many who want her dead.
I love when previous characters are throw in to the mix and we get to see Cella Malone and DeDee Smith, and find out the other side of the Malone family, plus a few others! I loved Ze and to see him progress into learning about his shifter side and that he can be the person that he has always hidden away. That he grudgingly likes Shen but cannot stand his constant chewing on bamboo is so great. The weird dislike that he shares with Charlie to Dutch who Max loves, and there are just so many that I can't even begin to list them all.
It is great the relationship that the three sisters share and that they will always be there for each other even if they do drive each other crazy at times! I was so sad when I realized that this is the last MacKilligan sister and probably the last badger book in this series until there was a HUGE reveal later in the book so good chance there will be another book!!!!
A big thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is part of a series but reads ok as a stand alone. While I love honeybadgers, I found this one to be a bit confusing. What the heck was up with the family and her cousin?? I loved Max and Ze together! Still couldn't put it down! 4 stars
I LOVED IT! I was so excited to read Max's story.
She has always been the hardcore one, the one who isn't scared of anything and doesn't get attached to anyone.
Up until now, everyone thought she was a psychopath for sure, until she saw Zeze; or better said, she smelled him and couldn't get enough of him.
Max didn't understand why, but the clueless cat caught her attention at once, and she couldn't leave him behind.
She didn't get attached, she didn't find people interesting at all; but there was something about the cat that she couldn't ignore.
Zeze had no clue what was going on, ever since the crazy small woman got in their van things went from bad to insanity. He knew she was bad news and he needed to stay away, but there was just something irresistible about her.
From the moment Ze woke up at the MacKilligan's house I couldn't stop laughing; him and the cabinet just cracked me up. Also the way the author starts showing how his personality resembles the one of a cat was hilarious! I liked him A LOT.
The fact that Max decided she was gonna help him shocked everyone, even her. Ze had just something about him; like the way he was so straight forward with Max, no nonsense allowed.
One of my favorite parts about this series is how the author manages to make these mythical characters relatable and oh so human. Every issue they encounter, every fear the face, and fight they have, makes us feel them like humans with a little twist.
Awesome book!
Complete escapism reading at its B E S T! I love Shelly Laurenston's ability to make me care about a group of off the wall 1/2 sisters that just happen to be honey badgers, as well as the cats, bears and wolves. I laughed out loud, cheered them on and had a blast reading Max's story!

This is my favorite in the Honey Badger Chronicles! I wasn’t sure how I felt about Max previously, but I love her and her snarky humor. She is bad ass in protecting her sisters, and badger to the bone. I like that her personality and dare I say it…humanity came through. That makes Ze’s attraction more than superficial. Ze’ oh my. I love how it was a “he” that didn’t know he was a shifter. That made for such a fun discovery arc that only added to the mayhem surrounding them. With everything going on, their personal relationship built at just the right speed, culminating in a very sexy romance. I couldn’t get enough of the group dynamics in this story. The camaraderie and ongoing banter within the different groups made me laugh like a hyena.
The writing was smooth and pulled me into their world with ease. This is one of those books where I slowed down reading toward the end. I just wanted it to last longer.

I absolutely love the Badger sisters and their crazy lives. I hope this isnt the past we see of them either. Max has finally found her panty melter........in a cat. Max HATES cats of all breeds but this one she just might want to keep....
What a fabulous story, I always know I’m in for something special when I pick up a Shelly Laurenston book. Badger to the Bone has fabulous characters and banter, the story was engaging, and I can’t recommend this author highly enough she is truly amazing and I will definitely be reading whatever she releases next.
4.5 Stars! I love the humor of these books and I really adore Max and her sisters. There were things I loved about this book but it wasn't quite a 5 star read for me. The plot was entertaining but it did jump around quite a bit and it wasn't until the end that I figured out how it was all tying together. That isn't necessarily a bad thing but at times I thought it did take away from Max's story. I LOVED seeing a lot of the previous characters from The Pride series but it's been awhile since I've read all those books and sometimes I found myself pulled out the book trying to remember the characters storyline from their books. I loved Ze but we didn't get a lot of time with Max and Ze and the romance was a very small part of this book with everything that was going on. I would have liked a bit more with the two of them.
I'm hoping that we get another group of books featuring Mairi and her brothers next. Love this world and I look forward to more.
This has been one of the funniest badger books. I had a lot of LOL and snorting moments! I loved Max and Ze. As always, Shelly wrote a book that pulled me in from the first word until the last. I can't wait to see what she has next in store!
Badger to the Bone is the third in Shelly Laurenston's "Honey Badger Chronicles," and, in fact, might be my favorite of the three. In this, Shelly takes on the most difficult of the MacKilligan sisters, Max, and her love story.
Max, who some worry might be a sociopath as she is violent, unscrupulous, and prone to pushing people to madness, isn't looking for love. Mostly Max wants to protect her sisters, stay alive, and get out from under the "curse" of being her father's offspring... oh and get away from these guys who kidnapped her. She's surprised to see a man with the eyes of a "good guy" amongst these criminals and even more surprised to find he smells like a shifter, unlike his criminal, full-human compatriots. Still, she'll she's got other things to deal with.
Zé doesn't know what is happening, and he gets even more confused when he wakes up in a strange house, on a china cabinet, naked. Unfortunately, his life is about to get even weirder, but, maybe also, better.
As many people who know me are aware, Shelly Laurenston is one of my all-time favorite writers. To enjoy her books, one must have an enjoyment of the following: cursing, violence, and (sometimes graphic) sex, but everything she does has a quality of humor to it. There is a lot of gore, but it's more like watching Shaun of the Dead or Zombieland than it is watching 28 Days Later or Walking Dead (*not that there have been zombies... yet).
For me, Badger to the Bone is another "great fun" read in a long list of "great, fun" reads by Shelly. Max and Zé are nice together in a surprisingly calm and peaceful way that I didn't expect from anything involving Max because of how "in your face" she can be. One of the things I really enjoyed about this book was seeing things from her perspective, better understanding her motivations, and her intentions. At the top of my "favorite things," list is an interaction between her and her Sister Stevie. (Have I mentioned how much I like that all three sisters have "boy" names? Charlie, Stevie, Max? No? Well, I am now!) Stevie has anxiety in a way to which I very much relate. Watching Max pick fights with Stevie to derail her panic attacks is perfect character-building. (My dad picked a fight with me once when I was in the middle of an anxiety attack, and it worked like a charm, much to my annoyance). It was so satisfying to see Max go from "mysterious, violent sisters" to a full, three-dimensional person. This book really elevates the two before it in the series, in that way.
If you already love Shelly Laurenston, than you'll be thrilled with all the returning characters, drop-ins from books past, and Shelly Laurentson's "signature" style. If you haven't read a Shelly Laurenston book yet, you are in for a roaring good time. Beware, though--these characters have a hell of a bite!
I voluntarily read an advanced review copy of this book
I absolutely loved this book and loved the series. This book is funny, romantic and action packed! Zeze and Max were an awesome couple that balanced each other's crazy.
Overall great book! I'm not going to lie I cried a couple of times which is a big deal when reading a book that gives sooooo many laughs. I really hope a spin off series is coming because I am not ready for this to end.
Crazy mad romp of a book it reads like a high octane thriller/action movie with an enormous cast of characters and non stop action scenes.
Honey badger, basketball player and lethal assassin Max “kill it again” MacKilligan has been kidnapped by a gang including ex marine ZeZé Vargas, but he has other ideas, like trying to save her. When she loses her cool when he is trying to get them both out of trouble, he realises she is a little loopy, to put it mildly.
For her part Max doesn’t know what a shifter is doing in a gang with these human criminals, until she realises he doesn’t understand his true nature. Max brings Ze home with her and discovers that he is a Jaguar shifter, and introduces him to her clan. As ze discovers his true nature and they get closer to each other Max and her badger basketball buddies, plus her scary sisters Charlie and Stevie from the precious books all get involved with a huge cast of characters trying to use/kill/trick Max - including shifter police, Max’s selfish criminal mother, her murderous cousin, and a whole host of aggressively unpleasant relations.
The plot is a constant series of conflicts and showdowns, and never lets up, but the real joy in these books is the humour and snark. I loved Ze discovering his big cat nature, and ending up on the China cabinet all the time, and also the banter and teasing throughout.
Definitely a fun and exciting read, although if you’ve not read some of her other books, the cast of thousands can be a bit confusing..
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and all opinions are my own.

This one was Max's story. Story was a bit all over the place. Ending seemed like it was just thrown in at the last minute and almost like it was a side story. Max and Ze really didn't get the relationship development they deserved. So many of the previous characters seemed to just pop in the story and then pop out. Yes, it had funny parts but it just wasn't enough for it to be more than a 3 star for me.

I have read most of Shelly Laurenston's shifter series, and they are hilarious and fun reads. This is the third book in the Honey Badger series, and it is very good. The writing as usual is well done and fun. I like the different point of views of different characters.
I must say this book was not quite as good as the first two. There was a lot of things going on and each thing did not seem to get enough time to develop. That said, I give a good four stars. Thank you Net Galley for an advance copy for an honest review
