This was the first of the series Amish Candy Shop Mystery. I was happy to find this series. It is both fun and entertaining. I plan to return to Harvest Ohio soon for the rest of the series. This story finds Baily and the town celebrating Mother's Day. Her parents return to Harvest after leaving over 30 years ago. She wants to make this a special visit. When the money raised to help support a local women's support group disappears, Bailey has not lack of individuals whom to blame. Will she be able to find the thief? I really enjoyed this read. I look forward to the next. I received a copy through Netgalley. A good review was not required.

BOTCHED BUTTERSCOTCH is a fun little story to tide Amish Candy Shop Mystery fans over until the publication of the next full length book. This time around, Bailey’s helping with a Mother’s Day Tea fundraiser for Abigail’s Farm, a local half-way house retreat. In addition, readers get the opportunity to meet Bailey’s parents as they come to town for the weekend. The Tea is a wonderful success until it comes to an abrupt end when the money raised is stolen. Everyone, even Deputy Little, asks for Bailey’s assistance to solve the case.

Since this is a novella there is not much time for character development, and the thief is pretty easy to pinpoint. That said it is entertaining and diverting to solve a mystery alongside Bailey that does not involve murder or danger. It is great to spend time with Bailey and her friends and family no matter how brief, and, of course, Jethro the pig makes an appearance. Recommended for fans of the Amish Candy Shop series.

I received an ARC from Kensington Books through NetGalley and voluntarily shared my opinions here.

Amanda Flower packed a lot into this novella in her Amish Candy Shop series. In addition to the series' regular ensemble of characters, Bailey King's parents make an appearance. The main event is a Mothers' Day tea intended to raise money for a local charity and coordinated by Margot and Juliet at Juliet's church. That is the launching point for the mystery in this story.

Of course Bailey is integral solving the mystery. The book has a generally happy ending for Bailey and her crew with the resolution of the case, but there are a couple of loose threads at the end that seem to be leading to sad conclusions.

Overall, a very enjoyable addition to the series. Looking forward to the next entry.

Super cute novella that helps to progress the story line and introduce Bailey's parents to Aiden, his Mom and of course her service pig Jethro. This story is just sweet enough to get us through Mother's Day and ready for Marshmallow Malice. It is helpful to be familar with the cast of characters but since it is a novella it is enjoyable on its own as well. No violence or dead bodies but there is a wonderful butterscotch peanut bar recipe. Even though there is no murder there is still a mystery to solve in the way of a theft that takes place during a fundraiser of all things. So be sure to dust off your deerstalker cap and download this latest Amish Candy Shop mystery.

'Botched Butterscotch' is my first taste of Bailey King's candy making and crime solving skills. Having not read other books in the Amish Candy Shop Mysteries I had no trouble getting to know each person and pig. After meeting the main characters I'll be checking out the serie's past and future books. This novella is a sweet, quick, and enjoyable read. I received a copy of 'Botched Butterscotch' from Netgalley and the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

Botched Butterscoth by Amanda Flower is the 4.5th novella in the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series, and another great story. I really love this series, and am looking forward to the next book in the series, Marshmallow Malice. Bailey King left her job as a New York chocolatier to return to Harvest, OH to help run Swissman Sweets, a candy shop her Amish grandmother owns. It is Mother's Day, and Bailey parents are in town for the event. The Mother's Day tea is a special fund raiser for a local women's group. When the money, cash, is stolen, Bailey is determined to find the truth. I love the quirky people and situations in this book, especially Aiden mother and her pig. I found this book to be a quick read, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you guessing. If you love cozy mysteries, I strongly recommend this book/ series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Botched Butterscotch is a novella tucked in the middle of a cozy mystery series - Bailey runs a candy shop with her grandmother. She donates some treats to a local fundraiser, but things quickly turn sour when the box of donated cash and checks is emptied.

This was such a sweet (I couldn't help myself...) little story! My first experience with the Amish Candy Shop Mysteries certainly won't be my last. This is pretty short - I read it in one sitting. It was nice to have a short glimpse into a series I haven't read, and a lot of ground was covered in a short amount of time! I highly recommend this either for fans of the series, or for anyone interested in checking the series out (it's a nice way to get a feel for the writing and the characters without dedicating time to an entire book).

Thank you Kensington Books for the NetGalley ARC!

4.5 Stars
I always enjoy returning to the great village setting of Harvest, Ohio, where both Amish and Englisch live and work. There are recurring interesting, sometimes quirky characters and always a mystery to solve. This time we are visiting just for the weekend.
Bailey King left New York City where she worked as a chocolatier to help her grandmother run the family candy shop, Swissmen Sweets, after her grandfather's death. It is Mother's Day weekend and community leader, Margot Rawlings, has a special Mother's Day Tea planned at the church to raise money for a home for women with addiction problems. But someone stole the money from the event and Bailey puts on her sleuthing hat to find out who took it at the request of the home's owner.
Bailey's parents are in town for the special weekend so it is meet the parents weekend when her fiance' Deputy Aiden Brody his mom, Juliet, and her pet pig, Jethro, get to meet them. Fun times with yummy candy, wedding talks, and a mystery. Amanda Flower is a favorite Amish author for me. I always enjoy her stories.
I received a complimentary ARC from Kensington Publishing through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.

This was a fun little novella - not a murder to be had - telling of the robbery of all the cash at a fundraiser for a farm which helped recovering addicts. We finally meet Bailey's parents and the interaction between them and Juliet (who thinks Bailey is engaged to her son) keeps the laughs coming while the mystery of whodunit is solved. Love the characters and the story.

Of all the cozy writer out there Amanda Flowers is one of my favorites. She has a knack for adding in humor in her books. Botched Butterscotch is in the Candy Shop Mystery series but it's a novella but that does not mean it is not enjoyable. Bailey doesn't find a body like she has in the previous books but some money raised for a charity goes missing and the person running the charity asks Bailey for her help. You see Bailey has gotten the reputation in the village for solving crimes and she does just fine solving the crime.

Big Time Crime Comes to Small Amish Community
I love Amanda Flowers' Amish Mysteries. They center around a young chocolatier who is working in Amish Grandmother's candy shop. This story is about a Mother's Day Tea to benefit a local charity. Bailey's parents come for the weekend and everything breaks loose! While all of these stories follow a timeline and contain the same characters, the books can stand alone easily. This is a shorter novella which makes it fun and easy book to enjoy. I received this ARC book for free from Net Galley and this is my honest review.

A great addition to the Amish Candy Shop series. If you're a fan of the series this book can be read between any book after the first book, you need to at least read the first book to so you know how is who in the series.

This is a short story that features no murder. WHAT! No, murder you say? Yep, its this is simple who took the money mystery and I LOVED IT! It was different and enjoyable.

Follow Bailey and all of her friends as she tries to find out who took the money away from those that need it most.

Know up front that this is a novella- it's a perfect afternoon treat. It's also a good introduction to the series if you haven't read it. Bailey left the city to help her grandmother with her candy shop in Harvest, Ohio. Her family left the Amish faith and now, for the first time in years, her father is coming home. At the same time, someone - a real rat- stole the proceeds from an event that was meant to benefit a facility for women recovering from addiction. AND, Bailey's got a a problem because her love interest Aiden has a meddling sister who wants to plan a wedding. Whew. That's a lot in a small package but it works . The theft theme is a nice switch from murder. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. I'm looking forward to the next full length book. Oh- and there's an awesome recipe!

Botched Butterscotch(a novella) is book 4.5 in the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series.

Mother’s Day is almost here and Bailey finds herself quite busy. She has been busy preparing treats for a Mother’s Day Tea, to be held at the church across the green from Swissmen Sweets. Bailey’s parents are making a rare visit to Harvest, too. Bailey’s father, Silas, left the Amish faith some thirty years ago.

The Mother’s Day Tea is being held to raise funds for Abigail's Farm, a half-way house for women recovering from addiction issues. The tea is proving to be a big success and the time has come for Polly Anne to speak on what the farm is about and to thank everyone for coming and their donations. Once Polly Anne was done with her talk and presentation of the money was going to be made it is found that the box containing the money is empty. Someone has stolen about $10,000.

Bailey is surprised when Deputy Little arrives to investigate the theft. She was hoping that Deputy Sheriff Aiden Brody, her boyfriend, would be arriving. Deputy Little is new to the department and Bailey is concerned that he may not be experienced enough to handle the investigation. Bailey has helped with several cases and plans to give Little some guidance and do a little sleuthing on her own.

A wonderful addition to his delectable series.

A delicious-sounding recipe is also included in the book.

I’m looking forward to the next book in this wonderful series, Marshmallow Malice which due out on May 26th.

Mother's Day is Swissman Sweets' busiest holiday, and Bailey and the rest of the staff are even busier because the shop has been asked to provide treats for a fundraiser for a local farm that provides support to women. On top of everything else, Bailey's parents have come to visit for only the second time since they left town more than thirty years ago. Things are going well, though, until the fundraiser's money box is found empty. Bailey's parents are not happy when they learn that she has assisted local law enforcement in the past, and they're even less happy that she gets involved this time as well.

This is a short story, a filler between full-length books in one of my favorite series featuring an Amish candy shop. While I enjoyed reading it, I missed some of my favorite recurring characters, who only got passing mentions. I know it's due to the book's length, but I'll be glad to see them play more important roles in the next book. The mystery in this book isn't a murder, but figuring out who the thief was and the motive behind the theft. There were a couple of red herrings, but given the shortness of the book, the real culprit was pretty obvious relatively early, and the reveal was almost anti-climactic. I look forward to reading the next full installment of this series later this year.

I love visiting this Amish town. Always a good mystery that Bailey needs to solve. Juliet and Jethro show up as well.
I really wish I could try some of the candy mentioned.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for my eARC in exchange for an honest review

I very much enjoyed this novella. This time, instead of Bailey finding a body, it revolves around a theft. Of course, Bailey has to get involved. The book, being so short, didn't have many suspects so it was easy to figure it out. Nonetheless, it was nice to meet Bailey's parents and see Juliet involved in making wedding plans for Aiden and Bailey. I look forward to the next full length novel in the seroes.

Botched Butterscotch is an easy to read novella with the Amish Candy Shop mysteries by Amanda Flower.
It's Mother's Day week-end and Bailey's parents are visiting. Hoping for a quiet week-end for the visit, Bailey has planned to take her mother to the village tea at the church. The tea is going along great, when it is discovered the money from the fundraiser is missing. Bailey jumps to help the deputy investigate who would steal the money. Thus doing so, her parents find out she has become an amateur sleuth. As always with Flower, you get a bit of humor and twists and turns.
I was given an ARC by NetGalley and Kensington Books for an honest review.
