I am a huge fan of one pan dinners. I don't have a lot of time to put meals together so being able to make them all at once is huge for me. The bonus is that these recipes are healthy! This cookbook is full of recipes that I will use again and again. My family is excited to see what I will make next!
Always enjoy finding ways to make meal time easier! This was a great cookbook with lots of great ideas and combinations for making everything in one pan.
A very solid cookbook for those looking to save time in the kitchen. Easy to follow recipes with nice photographs. I would gift this book in a heartbeat, as well as purchase a copy for my own collection.
This was a great book for those that want to live a healthy life and those that are also obsessed with cookbooks (as I am). I really liked the different recipes in it. I highly recommend.
Excellent, easy to follow recipes! My family loved the Thai Chicken Lettuce Cups. I loved the one pan idea...it is a lifesaver on busy nights.
Loved this cookbook. That said the recipes seem balanced and thus healthy but if you're looking for a book that lists every calorie this might not be for. Overall I love this book.
After 4 plus months cooking dinner at home nearly every night due to the pandemic, I am desperate to change things up. If I can add variety and do less dishes, sign me up! This book does just that.
This book is perfect for a beginner cook or someone wishing to change things up. It's broken up by type of cooking such as sheet pan or slow cooker. This is perfect for planning and deciding if you have time to start cooking in the morning or if it's too hot for that oven.
Overall a well balanced cookbook that I will use again and again!
Thank you DK and NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Thank you to Netgalley for a chance to read and review Healthy One Pan Dinners! This book would be fabulous for beginning cooks that are looking for healthy and tasty but easy ways to create meals. Steps were easy to follow and lots of sound advice.
Healthy One Pan Dinners is exactly what you will find in this cookbook. The author does a great job of describing everything needed and steps to creating a healthy meal your whole family will enjoy.
I prioritize eating a healthy, clean diet however I do not love to spend much time in the kitchen. I am always excited to look at recipes that are simple, easy and relatively hands-off. This was a great cookbook - lots of delicious recipes however with easy preparation. I look forward to trying the Kale & White Bean Soup.
Thank you, DK and NetGalley, for a digital ARC!
Loved this cookbook. That said the recipes seem balanced and thus healthy but if you're looking for a book that lists every calorie this might not be for. Overall I love this book. I've made four recipes so far and am loving the look of most of them. I absolutely love how the recipes are divided into how you cook them (sheet pan, skillet, etc) although I wish there was more of a divide between the multicooker and slowcooker (only because I own one and not the other). Wide variety or recipes so you can find something no matter how you feel that day.
I love the recipes and how it is set up by cooking vessel! These are all simple, one pan recipes that are helpful for when you don't want a lot of dishes! I just wish there were more pictures.
This is one of those cookbooks which I will likely give as gifts this coming Christmas. It has great recipes and information. It is a beautifully done version of what you want most - easy, quick, healthy, and delicious recipes in an easy to navigate book. Strongly recommend.
Thank you to Netgalley, the author Dana Angelo White, and the publisher DK for the free ARC in return for my honest opinion.
Healthy One Pan Dinners: 100 Easy Recipes is a well curated recipe collection and cooking guide to one pan/pot/sheet dinners by Dana Angelo White. Due out 9th June 2020 Penguin/RH on their DK imprint, it's 160 pages and will be available in paperback and ebook formats. As almost always with DK's offerings, I was blown away by the detailed, clear, and solidly expert photography. Every photo is well rendered and easy to follow. The supportive text is also clear and spare.
The book follows a logical layout. The instructions presuppose no previous experience on the reader's part. The book begins with an introduction covering tools and supplies including different coooking vessels (most will already be on hand), pantry ingredients and staplest o keep on hand (ditto - they'll be available in a well stocked kitchen).
The recipes are arranged around the method of cooking and vessel used (sheet pan, etc). Each recipe includes serving yields, special notes (gluten free, freezer friendly, vegan, quick to prepare) and tips, and prep times. Recipe ingredients are listed bullet point style along with optional ingredients. All measurements are given in American standard measures only (there is no measurement conversion table included in the book, but it's a hassle not to have them included). The directions are given step by step, numbered sequentially. The nutritional information is given in a footer under the recipes and includes calories, fat, protein, sodium, and fiber.
The recipes' ingredients are easily sourced and the resultant dishes are family friendly and appealing to kids and adults. For cooks who are living alone or couples, very many of the included recipes are freezer friendly and could be adapted to fewer than the stated number of servings (generally 4). There are a number of these which will become weeknight staples for my family.
Four stars. Timesaving, nutritious, and tasty.
Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.
This cookbook is easy to read and thorough. The table of contents breaks down the recipes based on the method of cooking--in other words, the type of pan you will use to create the dish. Each type of pan/method of cooking is discussed as to the different benefits, types of foods best prepared that way, and preferred brands, among other things. A list of essential, commonly used ingredients is also provided at the beginning of the book.
The recipes are easy to follow. They are relatively short and the language is understandable, so anyone can cook using this book. You don't have to be a professional chef to understand the instructions. Prep and cook times are provided, along with nutrition facts for each serving. There are many pictures throughout the book, showing off the delicious food you will be creating.
I look forward to trying many of the recipes in this book! The recipes are simple, healthy, and delicious! Thank you to #NetGalley for providing me a free copy of this cookbook in exchange for my honest review.
A unique cookbook. Easy recipes to follow. I liked how the cookbook was organized. I really liked the chicken recipes.

One thing that always lures me into a cookbook are the pictures. I really love the bright and cheerful images in this healthy eating book of recipes. Also, anyone familiar with the author will know that the instructions are simple and the ingredients are easy to source. There are so many different methods to create a meal in one pan, and if you are like me, you will appreciate the quick clean-up.
The contents of the book are as follows:
Intro
Sheet Pan
Skillet
Dutch Oven
Baking Dish
Multicooker & Slow Cooker
❀ LOTS OF RECIPE IDEAS
I really enjoyed creating the Chickpea Stew in my slow cooker. I know that this is going to be a recipe that I come back to often, as it requires minimal effort and it is quite hearty. After a long day, I always enjoy a pre-made meal from the slow cooker.
❀ WILL PLEASE ALMOST ANYONE
If you are on the hunt for some recipes and ideas to cut down on time involved in the kitchen, this is one book to try. There are lots of interesting and simple ideas that will please almost anyone. Healthy One Pan Dinners by Dana Angelo White is a must-have cookbook for anyone who enjoys a quick and healthy meal.
I would recommend this book to any family that is busy and has a lot of people to feed! The pictures were nice and I loved the overall layout of each recipe. Each one gave nutrition counts which I especially look for in all cook books. We really enjoyed the sheet pan pizza night, and plan on making that one again next month. Great recipes and food the whole family can enjoy!
I enjoyed the style of this cookbook. It breaks down 10 perfect one pan cooking vessels, a list of kitchen staples to keep on hand, and 10 must have ingredients. There's a section that gives details about each cooking vessel including what sizes to get, the ways to use each of them, how to clean them, how it will benefit your kitchen. Then the cookbook is broken into sections of recipes for each of the cooking vessels. It also labels all the recipes as gluten free, dairy free, vegan, under 30, and freezer friendly.
Unfortunately this is where the book makes me angry. I knew going in this wasn't a vegan cookbook. Out of the 100 recipes, I believe around 30 are labeled as vegan. In actuality, only 6 are and that's if you allow recipes with parmesan topping (which vegans don't, but easy enough to omit). The vast majority of these 'vegan' recipes call for eggs. Feta cheese. Ricotta cheese. Mozzarella cheese. Butter. Cheddar cheese. Buttermilk. Greek yogurt. Provolone cheese. It was ABSURD. If this V title was changed to 'vegetarian' I would have no issue. But the mislabeling really irked me. Most people won't have issue with this though. Personally to me, cheese loaded recipes aren't healthy, but with the keto craze, I'm sure plenty might seek this out.
This cookbook has 100 recipes and about 33 pictures. One picture for every 3 recipes isn't too bad. I do prefer at least 50% because I'm a cookbook snob. Some of the pictures are just okay, and some are really aesthetically pleasing. Overall, a decent cookbook. No crazy ingredients needed. Most things look pretty good. My favorites were the sheet pan pancakes, egg sandwiches, and pizza do look like fun and easy meals to make for my family. I love sheet pan cooking, makes it very simple.
Nice cookbook! The material is well written and presented in an easy to follow manner. I look forward to trying out several of these recipes.
