This is a fine structure for a health journal/planner. It's organized to be focused on several aspects of your daily health, but of course, its main focus is fitness and diet. It follows the standard planner and journal templates. All in all, it is a more than adequate journal, with enough standard features for the average user, but it is not necessarily a unique product compared to other health journals already on the market.
I received an arc of this book from NetGalley for an honest review. This book is not suited for the library, it has some good information but would not work for multiple people checking out.
This is a nice journal or way to keep track of your healthy life. If you are looking for more details than that I didn't see much. It does help you keep on take and have some information, but I was expecting more such as some more details to help with training a bit more. There were some details, but it was more to help you keep track. It would have been good to have some helpful elements for healthy living along with the journaling elements such as exercises or facts. Maybe something motivational or a goal for the week as an option.
In the age of journaling, a fitness journal is a must have product. It's one of those things you see on social media and immediately want one for yourself! Sure, keeping a fitness journal can be extremely motivating, but it's also all about how aesthetically pleasing the whole experience is.
Of course, I'm simply reviewing the online version of this journal, which I got in both Kindle and PDF versions. Of course, it's unusable. In case I didn't already know that, there is a huge red reminder saying "REVIEW ONLY" on every single page. I get it, dear publisher, but since I'm not paid a dime for doing this, why couldn't you avoid this so I could possibly screenshot some pages and actually have the experience of filling them in on my screen? So I know how to review it?...
That issue aside, I must say that this journal falls short of my expectations. I like the clean design without much fluff, but it is not sufficiently aesthetically pleasing or "instagrammable." In addition, if I were to buy a pre-filled fitness journal, I expect some motivational quotes, inspirational gratitude pages, etc.
This journal would be a great resource for those that are starting out on a fitness journey for the first time or beginning a new fitness program. It gives you space to monitor diet, water intake, and measurements. I would recommend this journal for anyone starting out on a new fitness journey.
This book would be suited for those after a bare bones approach to keeping track of some key metrics (food, exercise, weight, body measurements, sleep, water, weight) in their journey to a healthier life.. I liked the weekly reflection section where it asked you to reflect on you satisfaction with various aspects, what room you saw for improvement and how you could make those improvements. However personally I wanted more - tips for healthy eating, suggestions for exercise, motivational quotes etc. There is definitely value to be had in keeping records (harder to delude yourself as to what you are and aren’t doing). If I just wanted barebones I could simply buy any lined book. Other people may well be different and find value in something already formatted for them.
I received a complimentary review copy of #TrainingforaHealthyLife from #NetGalley
This journal has pages to summarize your stats when starting and at the end 13 weeks later, plus space to record your weight, daily goal, food intake, exercise, and self-care details on a daily basis and has room to chart your progress (including measurements) on a weekly basis. There are also some blank pages at the end for general notes. I recommend this to people who are looking for a good place to track and monitor their progress over an extended period of time.
Right now so many of us are preoccupied with the state of our own health. While this title has nothing to do with what is currently happening, it is a resource for those who would like to take better care of themselves.
The journal is set up to be used for thirteen weeks though I am sure it could be used for longer either by purchasing another book or moving your goals to a notebook using what was learned here. The idea of being able to look back and see one's progress often helps in achieving goals which is why a book like this may be better than just resolving to "do better."
This is a simple journal that may be helpful to readers. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.
I received an e-book of this, whilst this doesn’t work as an ebook, it gives you an idea of it. I think it’s pretty simple and would help people keep to their goals and see results.
I was a little disappointed though, as I expected more little nuggets of health and fitness information or encouraging motivational quotes splashed throughout the book. Even on the pages that you write on.
Thank you NetGalley for my complimentary copy in return for my honest review.
This is a basic paperback journal with spaces for you to record your daily weight, exercises, food, etc. The beginning also has you record your exact measurements for chest, waist, etc. and weight, and to set a goal. At the end, there is a space for you to record your finished weight and measurements. From what I can tell, it's designed to be 3 months' worth of records, I believe. The publisher instructed reviewers to request a printed copy, but then didn't reply to requests. As such, I scanned the whole book in digital formal and it seems to be the same daily form for the most part. It is likely to be helpful for people who want to keep daily records of these stats.
I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for the purpose of review.
i wanted to order a journal for myself and a friend and happened to see this one on netgalley. they do say that this one is meant to be a physical book and not an ebook, so i purely got this to have a look beforehand - like a preview :) i wouldn't use a journal in ebook format myself, but i really appreciate that they offered it here and also noted that it's not meant to be an ebook. definitely going to purchase the physical copy for my friend as a gift :)
This is a great journal for creating a healthy lifestyle holistically. It has space available for water intake, sleep tracking, and self care. It also does weekly wrapups. I would highly recommend.
I generally liked the structure of this journal, but I would have liked it better if some diet and fitness tips had been included. The way it is structured, you could have used a normal notebook to keep track of your progress.
This workout and food journal is an exciting idea. We all need motivation for exercise and weight loss, and we need to keep track of our training and food.
As the publisher wrote, this not intended to be an e-book. It is a journal, and you have to write in it.
In this journal, there are daily charts to track your food, exercise, and mood. You first do the measurements of the body and then check progress every week and write your observations. I like that there is an area where you can write improvements. I don't think it is necessary to weigh yourself every day. You can lose your motivation that way.
I like the design of this book.
I was provided this from netgalley for an honest review.
I enjoyed looking thru this journal regarding my health and fitness. I was only able to see the ebook and patiently waiting to hear back from the publisher to get a printed copy but from what I was able to see and how it would work In my current health and fitness journey, I would use this every day.
