It was cute, the first one had the valentine vibe but the second one did not. I was mostly confused on that one. It felt all over the place. It was novellas but i did not feel we had enough time to get to know the characters.

A cute set of Valentine's day stories, with an atypical twist to them. Very enjoyable. *I received an ARC of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.

Lucy isn't looking for love. She has her job and the teens she works with and for now that is enough. And then she meets Mack. Mack finds love for others never expecting love in his present. And the he meets Lucy. I enjoyed The Cupid Crush by Lia Violet. Neither Lucy or Mack were looking for love. But could they stand still long enough to connect. I enjoyed seeing Ms. VIolet give them missed opportunities that allowed Mack and Lucy to become closer. This story is a sweet read. Mack and Lucy are kind souls who deserve to find happiness. And I hope Ms. .Violet will return to this world in the future.
Red was just looking to volunteer. She was not expecting her whole world to change. But Cupid Hits the Local VFW by Trinity Blacio shows Red just what volunteering can lead to. Is she ready? Zack wasn't expecting Red but she gives him a second chance at love and he is grabbing it with both hands. Now he just needs to convince Red and keep her safe. Easy peasy right? I enjoyed seeing Zack and Red learn to mesh. Both have had love in the past and both have been given a second change. I love that Ms. Blacio placed Red and Zach on equal footing. They both have loved and lost. They appreciated the change they've been given even it its a bit too quick for Red. This is a sweet story by Ms. Blacio that I totally enjoyed.

Two perfect stories for Valentine and anytime you want to read love stories.

The first one is about the younger set finding love. And there is a werewolf and a librarian mixed in. It sounds kind of nuts but it works well.

The second one is about 'older' couple finding love. And I actually enjoyed this one a lot. I normally don't read stories with older couples because there aren't that many around. It's extra fun because it's about Red Riding and a wolf shifter. It's very refreshing and cute.

Two sweet and spicy shorts in one book.
The Cupid Crush by Lia Violet pairs a sassy librarian and a cupid shifter. Lucy has a heart of gold and a smile that lights up the room. Mack is supposed to fiind others but when he sees Lucy he is smitten. It is a lot of fun watching them get together.
Cupid Hits the Local VFW by Trinity Blacio is a wonderful tale of older lovers finding that love is lovelier the second time around. I loved Zack & Red. They are playful and sweet. Smoking hot too.

This was the perfect Valentine's day read. I could definitely read more about Cupid shifters. Like sign me up. I loved the concept and the fated mates aspect.

The first story was sweet and I loved both Mack and Lucy. Who doesn't love a librarian story (especially one who is part werewolf! I would have liked reading a longer version of the story where we find out more about Lucy's past engagement and more about Mack's family.

The second story was sexy and so much fun. I love reading about non-standard age range couples. Red is 58 and the General is who the hell knows how old - with six adult children. I would love to know more about the world these folks live in and see more of their blended family.

A great festive valentines or anytime read for fans of shifter romance!

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all mine.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Riverdale Avenue Books for the ARC.I am voluntarily reviewing this book. this is a duet of short stories connected by the VFW. I have never read a story about Cupid shifters before. I found the first story a bit confusing but overall an ok read. I really liked the.second story. Loved the names, the characters feistiness and chemistry. Both are very quick run reads. 3 stars

From teens to seasoned citizens, this duet of love stories offers feisty fun. In Lia Violet’s “The Cupid Crush” Lucy Addante is a librarian who starts her day wrangling youngsters with anti-Valentine’s Day attitudes that she secretly shares. Then she gets drafted into being a model for the mayor’s annual calendar fundraiser. When firefighter Mack Guerrero sees her during the photo shoot, he knows he needs to meet her. A singles event at the local library of Ville de Cougar provides the perfect opportunity to learn more about her. Lucy and Mack are both much more that they appear to be.

Empty-nesters and surviving spouses Red Riding and Zack Danger explore their mutual attraction as they help organize the annual Valentine’s Day dance in Ville de Cougar while they dodge the menacing intentions of a hateful arsonist in “Cupid Hits the Local VFW” by Trinity Blacio. Zack’s secrets don’t scare Red, and her strengths don’t threaten Zack. These two interlaced insta-love stories are quick, bubbly reads. There are some sudden jumps in story development, logic, and characterization that familiarity with Violet’s Hot Heart Café series and Blacio’s Grandmas Need Loving Too series would probably make for smoother reads. Fun and love for everyone are the entertaining takeaways of these delightful tales.

There were two novellas in this book so I'm going to do mini reviews for both of them here.

The Cupid Crush by Lia Violet

So Cupid is actually a bunch of shifters. Ha! Who knew? So Mack and his siblings are Cupid shifters and they go around throwing arrows at people with their bows which I thought was so darn cute. Lucy and her friends are making decorations for their un-valentine's day party and for the VFW Cupid's Dance Veteran Fundraiser. Mack spots Lucy and it doesn't take long before he knows that she's his mate. She finds out what he is when his wings sprout from his back when he has to save her from danger. Things really take off from there. This was a sweet, quick read.

Cupid Hits the Local VFW by Trinity Blacio

Red Riding was 58 years old now and widowed with adult kids. She wants to volunteer for something but is caught off guard when the guy at the volunteer agency sends her to volunteer at the local VFW...for retired wolf shifter veterans. I mean, how fun is that! Red Riding and the big bad wolf! Ha! So when Red Riding meets General Zack Danger, he knows right away that she is his mate and gets possessive right away. But Red is no push over for a wolf shifter. There's danger because of some idiot and Zack knows he has to keep Red and her kids safe until the criminal is found. Red could be in real danger so she takes the help and finds that she is more than a little attracted to Zack and can feel the pull of the mate bond between them. This was such a fun novella. I had such a good time with this one. The story premise just made me laugh. Red Riding falls for a wolf shifter. Too fun.

Disclosure: I was given an ARC via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Both stories were fast reads. I loved the way the second story built off the first one. There was mild BDSM. It had Cupid shifters and wolf shifters. Both stories were very enjoyable.

1. The Cupid Crush by Lia Violet *****: Lucy and Mack meet around Valentine's day. Funny moments with the teenager group and their UnValentine day celebration. The pace is fast but you can feel that Mack and Lucy go well together. Faster wedding ever. Little details are spread here and there, like Lucy being able to see Mack's red wings. Mack has his hands full with his brothers and sisters - all cupid shifters - busy with business but they take the time to enjoy parties of all kind.
2. Cupid Hits the Local VFW by Trinity Blacio ****: Starts with a fun volunteering job - Red and the Wolves. It took me about 3 pages to see why Red didn't think it was funny. Then I LOL. Cupid Jeff has a great sense of humor. It's mostly funny until the end. In between you get real, believable life. Not too much drama but always a willing woman. Like any of her other books, Blacio needs to invest in an good editor.
