OᐯᗴᖇᐯIᗴᗯ: Tabitha can't believe her luck when Connor Ford shows up at her restaurant and sits in her section. Years ago, when they were teenagers, Connor and Tabitha were an item, but they haven't seen each other in years. Connor is married to a wealthy, glamorous woman, so Tabitha is surprised when Connor professes his love for her and starts an affair. Nina suspects her husband is cheating and hires someone to prove it. If Connor is cheating, the prenup will allow Nina to divorce him and not give him a penny. Except Nina dies in mysterious circumstances before that can happen.

ᗰY TᕼOᑌᘜᕼTᔕ: This book is filled with duplicitous characters. The only one I felt I could trust was Tabitha, and I felt bad for her most of the time. She was so sweet and naive that I dreaded what may happen to her. Campbell one again fills the book with characters that are entirely unreliable. As a reader, you have no idea who to believe, and quite honestly, are left guessing until the very end. The book solidifies Michele Campbell as an auto-buy author for me and I'm looking forward to what she has in store next.

I received a copy of this book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

Nina Levitt knew she was in trouble. Fearing for her life, she made arrangements to survive just in case her husband, Connor Ford, tried to kill her. With her plan in place, she would send him on his way with none of her enormous wealth after their Fourth of July party.

Meanwhile, her husband reconnected with his teenaged lover, Tabitha. They had been passionately in love during the summer of their last year in high school. After meeting again their love resumed its wonder and Connor was determined to leave Nina, even if it meant he would get nothing from her. But it was a very difficult thing to do. He needed time. He needed to set the stage. He needed to make sure it would go well.

But Tabitha began to wonder if he was for real. Did he really love her, or was he playing her? Would he come back to her? Would he stay? What would he say when she told him she was pregnant?

The back and forth intimate thoughts and feeling of both lovers is a fascinating look into insecurity and suspicion. I found it difficult to empathize with these two characters, they seemed too shallow to me. I actually had more sympathy for Nina. However, I was quite taken with their very real problems. I enjoyed the book and would recommend it to friends. I think it will make an interesting discussion.

Her latest book The Wife Who Knew Too Much came out yesterday and if it’s not on your summer reading list, add it now!

Campbell writes a mean messy domestic thriller! Messy is the only way to describe it but it’s the best way. This book in particular is about love, loss, and greed and it circles around a seriously twisted love triangle.

Tabitha comes across Connor years after their young romance, and the sparks are still there. Problem is Connor is married to the wealthy af Nina who has an air tight prenup that says if he leaves her he gets nothing. Good thing Nina dies or is it because it seems like Nina knew it was going to happen from the first page. Is it as black and white as it appears? Is Tabitha in over her head? Is Connor shady af? See... messy!!

This story moves quick so buckle up for another amazing thriller by Campbell. You all know I’m a sucker for a good twist and this one has them!! I highly recommend reading this one by the beach

One summer, when she was seventeen, Tabitha fell in love with Connor Ford. Years later he unexpectedly reappears and all the old feelings are rekindled. Connor has married Nina, an older, extremely wealthy woman, but admits that he’s miserable and has always loved Tabitha. When his wife commits suicide, Connor and Tabitha are free to marry and start their new life together. But, not all is well. There are rumors that Nina was murdered and soon suspicion falls on Tabitha. Exactly what happened to Nina and does Connor know more than he has revealed?

The Wife Who Knew Too Much moves along fairly well and there was some suspense. However, I found the ending to be somewhat of a letdown. It felt a little too much like a soap opera to me and none of the characters were very appealing. But, even so, it was the kind of book that I was in the mood for and it was a good summer afternoon read, providing just enough suspense to hold my attention.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for providing a copy of this book for review.

The Wife Who Knew Too Much by Michele Campbell is an incredible read.
I was hooked on this book from page one .
The characters were complex and complicated and took me a quite the ride.
The writing is so well done and the story is perfectly paced.
There is twist after twist and just when I thought I had it figured out, I was surprised.

Highly recommend !

The majority of this book was like waiting for a train wreck that I knew was coming. I don't always finish books that fill me with dread but remembering my reading experience with She Was the Quiet One, I decided to stick it out. I didn't think the writing in this book was as good as the other. For example, there were several situations in which the dialogue and character reactions seemed unrealistic for the emotion and intensity of the situation. Also, there were parts of the story that seemed wordy and contrived. Nevertheless, I connected to Tabitha's character and genuinely wanted to see how the story ended so that is worth 3 stars in my book.

This is a really nicely paced thriller that suffers from too much romance and too many naive characters. Rather than the Wife Who Knew Too Much it feels like The People Who Think Too Little. A beach read through and through Campbell's latest work isn't going to surprise you but like an action film it's enjoyable to experience. It took my mind off my worries for a few hours and kept me invested but required a lot of suspension of disbelief which isn't really my cup of tea.

If you enjoy stories ala Gillian Flynn and Ruth Ware you'll enjoy this book

Tabitha is a waitress who lost the love of her life when his mother tore them apart ten years ago. Since then she been married and divorced.
Connor, the love of Tabitha's life comes into her restaurant out of the blue and the sparks of their youth rekindle. The problem is, he's married to a very wealthy woman that Tabitha is very aware of due to all the press coverage the power couple receives. He says he's unhappy in the marriage and only wants her and she can't help herself on the heat of the moment. Then Connors wife is found dead in her swimming pool.
You can see where this is going, did he kill his wife? Did she? This tightly wound thriller grabs you with it's first paragraph and doesn't relent until the final chapter. With a myriad of twists and turns along the way I was ultimately surprised by the aha moments.
Very well written with a fairly fast pace I couldn't put it down. I recommend this one to all of you edge of your seat thriller fans looking for a new twist on an old theme.

This was another terrific suspenseful book by Michele Campbell! It’s full of twists and turns. It’s full of explosive and obsessive relationships. And everyone has secrets. Tabitha finds herself intimately involved with Connor years later after she first fell for him when she was a teenager. But now things will be different for them. Well, maybe. Now Connor is involved in a situation that Tabitha gets swept up into as she gets more involved with him. So who’s being honest? Who is keeping secrets?

After having read and loved both It’s Always The Husband and The Stranger on the Beach, I was super excited to receive a copy of this book. I really enjoyed the first half however from there it just dragged for me and I wasn’t all that impressed with where it was going in the end.

Nina Levitt is a very wealthy widow, and after a life of living with a womanizer she is not anxious to get into another relationship. Well, of course, she does. The story can’t end this early. But this time she has a prenuptial agreement that leaves her new husband, Connor, with nothing if he is caught cheating on Nina. Poor Conner. He tells Tabitha, with whom he had a summer fling when they were teenagers, that he’s still in love with her. And then Nina is found dead. Connor is accused of the murder. There are so many people who could have killed Nina and so many clues. It’s a well-done summer thriller to read.

Tabitha and Connor had a whirlwind summer romance in their teenage years. And after an unexpected reunion many years later, they find that their feelings for each other are still strong. The only problem? Connor is now married to extremely wealthy and well-known Nina. So when Nina is found dead after a party in her home, accusations begin to fly and Tabitha begins to uncover some dark secrets that have her questioning who she can trust.

This was just the fast-paced thriller I needed to get lost in this week. Was it my favorite? No. Will I be thinking about it for weeks and months to come? Probably not. But it was an overall enjoyable read for me! The first half really had me hooked, but I felt like it started to lose momentum in the middle...but then picked up speed again towards the end. I recommend giving this one a try if you need a quick book in between the heavier ones! ⭐️⭐️⭐️💫

Super fast paced summer read that grabbed my attention from the very start! This one kept me guessing with twists around every corner. While the characters weren’t super likable the author did a great job with character development. I also liked the addition of the gatsby esque mansion and summer parties. Give this one a read. Thanks to netgalley for the ARC in exchange for a honest review.

This was a quick read and a decent thriller. It didn’t quite have the shocking twists I have come to expect but still an enjoyable book for a summer weekend.

“ The wife Who Knew Too Much) is an entertaining novel in the “ women in distress“ genre. It has the benchmarks for a good Netflix or Lifetime movie. One of the big benchmarks is what the heroine does not know is that she has bad taste in men.
There is the heroine, Tabitha( even the name is tv drama worthy) who is a young woman who makes some bad decisions while in love that affect the rest of her life. At the beginning of the book, Tabitha is working as a waitress/ barmaid/ housekeeper a local resort and restaurant in New Hampshire . Then one night, into the bar comes Connor, young, handsome and well- to- do ( Required for the genre.) The two quickly become involved in a passionate affair that ends suddenly when his grandmother discovers the naked duo in bed. The angry matron orders Tabitha to take her trashy self away, and Connor sent away from New Hampshire , far from the vixen.
Obviously, there is more to the story. Twelve years later, T , divorced from a husband currently doing time for dealing OxyContin, is still working at the bar. Tabitha is older but not wiser because when Connor comes back to bar where it all started, well, the two are soon thrashing up the sheets once again. Well, not once , but whenever and wherever they can be alone. Connor is true to form as a “Love ‘me and Dump ‘ em “ guy. He is soongone and Tabitha is left with morning sickness and a pink result on the test stick.
There has to be more in this lustful story to keep the pot boiling , and there is. When we next meet Connor, Tabitha learns he is married to a very wealthy Long Island Dame of the Hamptons He assures Tabitha , he loves her, but tells her that he signed a Pre-Nup in which he gets zero $$ if he is caught being playing around. There is the baby to think of, though, and true love. Connor is a smart guy; he will think of something.
So it must be a co incidence when the rich wife is found floating in the swimming pool.

The author , Michelle Campbell, keeps up a fast pace in the story. When I began the book, I saw Tabitha as an airhead who takes bad decisions , usually while panting with passion. The guy dumps her once, and she goes back for more. Tabitha does not seem to learn from her errors as she drives headlong into trouble. Some of the things she does are dumb, but were she sensible , it would be a Jane Austen novel and not tense story of murder, love and treachery. Her character became more interesting and appealing as the book went on.
Connor is pretty much of a one-dimensional character, easily summed up as an amoral social climber with bedroom eyes. The book comes to a somewhat prolonged climax , as befits a tale which has some steamy scenes, as Tabitha finds her self in dire danger. There will be blood. Passion, danger , death and big money all in a dramatic novel that should appeal to a wide audience.
Content notes: no four letter words. Passionate love scenes. Rich women and their randy husbands. People who drink $ 600 wines and wear $1000 swimwear while people are starving!

The Wife Who Knew Too Much by Michele Campbell is a bit hard to describe. In a way it is a second chance romance and in others is a mystery/suspense. When they were young, late teens, Tabitha and Connor fell in love. But Tabitha was from the wrong family to Connor’s rich and prestigious family. Separated by his Grandmother, they moved on. Since then, Tabitha’s life has been hard. Then one day Connor walks into her job and everything changes. Is this the break she has been looking for? Her happily ever-after? But is everything as it seems? When she finds Connor’s previous wife diary, everything changes yet again. Can she trust Connor? What is the truth?

Happy reading!

The Wife Who Knew Too Much is a twisty, thriller by Michele Campbell that will grab you from the first page. This book is an easy, quick read, perfect for taking your mind off all the craziness this world has to offer. I will say that the writing and character development is adequate for the story. The storyline is good, but a bit predictable and unrealistic, so be prepared to suspend disbelief. So, if you are willing and able to do this, you will enjoy this book.

The book opens with Nina, who is very rich, telling us through her diary that her much younger husband, Conner Ford, is in love with someone else and is planning to kill her. When Nina's death is ruled a suicide, Conner becomes a very wealthy man. However, not all is how it seems.

"My husband is planning to kill me. For obvious reasons. He's in love with someone else. And he wants my money."

Tabitha Girard, a down on her luck thirty-year-old waitress, has been in love with Conner since he first saw him thirteen years ago. Conner is from an affluent family and Tabitha from a low-income family. They met at the country club where she works and where Conner's family is a member. They have a brief but intense summer romance where they both profess their love, but Conner's grandmother does not approve because of Tabitha's social standing, and she quickly breaks up the affair.

When Conner shows up thirteen years later professing his love, Tabitha realizes that she has never stopped loving him. This is when things get interesting, but I can't say much more, no spoilers for my review.

"The night Conner Ford walked back into my life, I was waitressing, just trying to make ends meet. To this day, nobody has ever reached me like he did."

The characters in The Wife Who Knew Too Much annoyed me throughout the whole book, and I found them shallow and self-centered. It seems that all Conner cares about is money and has based all his life decisions on getting and keeping money. He dumps Tabitha to keep his grandmother's money. He marries Nina for her money. Now on to Tabitha, this woman could not make a sound decision throughout the entire book. If there were a spotlight on the right choice, she would pick the wrong choice hidden in the shadows. She made some laughable decisions and then was shocked when things turned out poorly. I am not sure if she was just naïve or just not very smart.

The Wife Who Knew Too Much started promising, but for me fell a bit short. I think this could have been an excellent book, but unfortunately, it was indistinguishable from many books in the thriller genre. However, if you are looking for an easy to read book to sit by the pool with or take to the beach, this one may fit the bill. This was the first book by Michele Campbell that I have read, and although this book was far from perfect, I would consider reading more of her books.

It starts with young Tabitha as she falls in love and is left broken hearted by young Connor Ford. Many years later Tabitha is working as a waitress in her small hometown, when in walks the Connor Ford. Connor is now married to Nina Levitt, but he says he isn't happy and has always loved Tabitha. This leads to a quick affair that again means everything to Tabitha. When he goes back to Nina, claiming he is going to find a way to end it with her, Tabitha isn't sure what to believe. Then Nina is found dead. They are saying suicide, but was it really? What comes between and after is so full of twists and suspense you will have a hard time setting the book down. Michele Campbell did an excellent job on this one. The way she portrayed each character made you unsure of what was truly happening until it all clicked together. You will not be disappointed if you grab your copy today.

Thank you @netgalley and @stmartinspress for my advanced readers copy for my honest review in return.
