The Wife Who Knew Too Much is not my first experience with Michele Campbell. It's also not the first book by her that I've been disappointed with. If I recall correctly, I had a problem with both predictability and believability. Well, the predictability isn't so much a problem here, so there's that. However, believability is just nonexistent. Add to that the irritating and unlikable characters, including a woman who seems to throw her good sense right out the window, and this one lost me. I will add that unlikable characters on their own aren't necessarily a no-go for me, especially in the thriller genre, but combined with everything else, it became a no-go. I did finish, but it reached a point where it was harder to pick up than it was to put down, and once it went so far out there, there was just no coming back.

Michele Campbell has nailed this genre! In a saturated market of eh thrillers, Michele's book stands out among them all as to how to write a great thriller story. Complex, intriguing characters, incredible settings brought to life, and a plotline you swear you can figure out- but are totally wrong...bravo to Michele for her fast-paced/can't put down latest! Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

A little sordid tale of infidelity, money, and murder.

It's been 13 years since Tabitha Girard had met the gorgeous Connor Ford at the country club where she worked as a pool girl and he was one of the rich kids who happened to be there visiting his grandmother for the summer. A romance grew until it was discovered and forbidden. She'd never forgotten him and now, suddenly, there he was -- sitting at a table on the terrace at the second-rate sports bar where she now waited tables. It was meant to be, them coming back together and all those feelings reignited. One problem, however -- Connor happens to be married to Nina Levitt, a woman who is 20 years older than him but incredibly wealthy. But, they can't help themselves. He's going to get a divorce, he says, and seems to be taking a really long time about it. But then Nina ends up dead and finally Tabitha's fairy tale dream is about to come true. Unfortunately, everything is not quite as wonderful as expected and suddenly Tabitha is under suspicion. NO SPOILERS.

It was OK but honestly, this is the kind of story that I really try to avoid and somehow end up reading due to being duped by the synopsis or by other reviews. I need to stop requesting domestic dramas masquerading as suspense thrillers with unlikable characters and thoroughly predictable outcomes. I anticipated the twists from the start and can I say, again, that I really detested all of the characters in this book, especially Tabitha. I mean, honestly, how did anyone believe that this was all going to turn out OK given their decisions, behavior, and the situation. The ending left me scoffing and shaking my head. I was totally disappointed because I had liked this author's previous book. I see that this fit the bill for others and I just have to be more careful in the future.

I was a huge fan of A Stranger on the Beach, so I was super excited for Michele Campbell’s newest novel and I was not disappointed! From the very first page, I was pulled in and found it difficult to put down. This is a fast-paced, easy read that is perfect for summer beach or poolside reading.

I enjoyed reading both Nina and Tabitha’s story and found myself wondering how far both myself and others around me would go for both love or money. This is also one of those books that reminds us that we’re always a few decisions and circumstances away from our lives becoming unrecognizable.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read an advanced copy of this book.

The plot is good and showed a ton of promise, especially in the first half. However, there are too many unexplained and unnecessary plot twists. The ending felt unfinished and left with me wondering what really happened.

All in all, I would rate it an okay read. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the arc.

This book gripped me from the first page wherein we get a glimpse of Nina's diary entry saying that if she is found dead, that it was her husband who killed her. Nina being very wealthy thinks that she conned by her young husband, Connor. The twists and turns had me guessing and anxious to get to the ending.

Young love. Older, wealthy wife. Betrayal. Suspicious death. Accusitory journal entries. The Wife Who Knew Too Much has all of this and more.
Tabitha had a wild fling with Connor, who was two years older. She fell head over heels in love. Connor moved on, eventually marrying Nina, a wealthy woman about 20 years his senior. Their love flourishes until one day Nina is found dead. Connor happens to cross paths with Tabitha and they work to rekindle the spark and fire of their fling from several years back. Everything is beautiful and idyllic until Tabitha finds a note written by Nina implicating her husband in her death. He had tasted of her love, wealth, and lifestyle, and by all accounts loved all three. But does make him a killer?
This was a quick read, engaging, and filled with the twists and turns of a good drama/suspense novel. Who to believe? What is real? This is a perfect read for a beach getaway or a weekend spent curled up with a book. This was my first read of a Michele Campbell book, but it has me looking forward to more.
I received an advance copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for my thoughts and review.

It is hard to review a book when you only like one character. And that character dies in the first chapter.

This opened well, but soon dragged. It wasn't a compelling read. I found the ending just OK.

THE WIFE WHO KNEW TO MUCH by Michele Campbell was a strange read. The beginning was remarkably interesting and promised a great read, but the middle was slow and became a bit repetitive. I am glad I persevere to the end because what started like a lamb, finished like a lion. What an ending!!! Not my favourite by this awesome author but still a great read if you are patient.

The Wife Who Knew Too Much is "My Fair Lady" with murder and suspense!

Tabitha's start as a pool girl, and then waitress, leaves her with little background and a lot of naivety as she moves into her new life as wife of multimillionaire (by virtue of his widower status), Connor Ford. But at what price? Now Tabitha is embroiled in a suspected murder and her past association with a drug dealer isn't doing a lot to help her proclaim her innocence. Adding to her trouble is a house full of staff with hidden loyalties, hidden pasts, and hidden secrets. So who can she trust? Can she even trust Connor, who proclaims his love for her even while acting suspiciously?

While I didn't like most of the characters and I felt that Tabitha was too trusting, the pace and suspense of the book made it a very enjoyable read. Even once you think you know what is going on, the author throws in a few twists and surprises at the end. Can't wait to read more by Michele Campbell!

"The Who Knew Too Much" is a suspenseful, fast paced mystery, which keeps the reader actively engaged. Michelle Campbell has written more than just a page turner, with a realistic plot that people can relate to with lots of surprise twists. It's a very well developed and thoughtfully written novel, which allows the story to flow and remain entertaining.

This is my first attempt at reading a Michelle Campbell and I was overwhelmingly surprised and more than satisfied. I would highly recommend this novel and I'm further encouraged to read prior novels by this author.

Nina Leavitt had married the very wealthy Edward when he was 50 and she was 23. Sadly, he got sick but she lovingly nursed him until he died. A year later, she married Connor when she was 50 and he was 30. She was very wealthy and he was broke. Nina knows that Connor is in love with another woman, Tabitha, and that Connor only wants Nina’s money. She also believes that he wants to kill her.

Connor and Tabitha had known one another when they were teenagers. She came from a poor family and worked at the country club as a server where he and his family were members. It has been years since they have seen one another, so when he comes into a restaurant where she works, she is surprised. He just wants to see her again saying he never stopped loving her. However, he knows that Nina has people watching him and has to get back to her. Tabitha knows she mustn’t contact him, but tries to call him anyway. The calls go to voicemail.

Desperate to see him, Tabitha tries to sneak into a party that Nina and Connor are giving at their mansion on the water called Windswept. She is caught and questioned by the police. Later, Nina’s body is found in the pool. Was she killed or was it suicide?

When Connor finally responds to Tabitha’s calls, she tells him she is pregnant and they quickly get marred. She moves into Windswept but suspects there are those who want her gone. People think Connor killed Nina but Tabitha doesn’t believe it. Could the man she loves have done this?

I’m sure I’ve given out too many spoilers here but I want readers to know that this is a very compelling read with lots of action and intrigue. I liked the characters but found Tabitha to be much too naive. But that’s part of the story. Enjoy!

This novel starts out very cliche with working-class Tabitha experiencing her first love with ultra-wealthy Connor when they are in high school. When his powerful and controlling grandmother finds out about their secret love, she tears them apart, destroying Tabitha’s family in the process. Several years later, Connor walks into the restaurant where Tabitha is a waitress, and all of the old sparks fly again. The problem, however, is that Connor is now married to one of the richest and most powerful women in the country and he isn’t sure how to get out of the marriage. Luckily for Connor, a few months later, Nina takes her own life and he and Tabitha can finally be together.

This was an addictive thriller that I didn’t put down until I had finished the entire book. I will say that it didn’t take me too long to figure out “whodunnit,” but it did take the entire book for me to figure out motives and who, if anyone, were accomplices. The character development in this novel is amazing. I can’t even count on both hands all of the different feelings and emotions I experienced because of these characters. They were constantly fluid throughout the novel, always keeping me on my toes trying to understand their true personalities. Connor was the worst, though, because I had about a hundred different thoughts and opinions about him that seemed to be proved wrong just as soon as I would think them. People that I didn’t trust at all and seemed awful ended up being completely harmless and then people that seemed fine ended up being crazy secretive and suspicious, so this was a fun read trying to figure everyone out.

I highly recommend this novel to those who love thrillers that keep them guessing, and especially fans of having your own theories disproven again and again. Michele Campbell has written a fast-paced thriller that is smart, sexy, and you will not be able to put it down.

P.S. This would make an outstanding movie or even a Netflix series!

A roller coaster of a journey that will leave you holding on for dear life. I really enjoyed this book. Some might say it's similiar to gone girl but that's what I liked about it. This book will keep you hooked and although I didn't love the ending I still feel the author did a great job. The pace was planned out well and I enjoyed her writing style. I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

If you read Michelle Campbell's A Stranger on the Beach, you are going to love her newest release! The Wife Who Knew Too Much is an edge of your seat thriller that will have you locked in from the very first sentence.

The story follows Tabitha, a 30 something divorcee with a string of bad luck. Until one night, her high school sweetheart, Connor, comes walking into the restaurant where she works. Connor is married to a very wealthy celebrity, but wants to leave his marriage. As sparks fly between Tabitha and Connor, things begin to unravel until Connor's wife is found dead in a pool.

This story is full of lies, betrayal, promises and so much more. I didn't connect with the characters as I had hoped which is why I didn't give it a five star rating. But you'll definitely want to add this one to your TBR pile! Released today so make sure to purchase your copy!

A complex mystery in which the reader often wonders just who is "the good guy" (male or female) and who's lying. At the beginning, I thought, why would this wealthy woman be so foolish. why wouldn't she take precautions? But as the story unfolds, we discover that pretty much nothing is as it seems, and almost no one is "what you see is what you get." Nonetheless, I found the ending satisfying.

A good read, but not a great one. I was quickly drawn in by Nina’s opening diary entry and read thru the book quickly. I found the plot interesting enough but the characters left a little to be desired, especially Tabitha. She came across as naive and very immature. And Connor seemed to be just a spoiled man who never grew up! I’m a fan of Michele Campbell but this was not my favorite. Thank you for the ARC, I really appreciate it.
