It is difficult to describe this book without writing spoilers at the same time. The plot was fairly predictable, and the characters can easily be sorted into their respective roles. Unfortunately for me, I realized who the guilty party was long before I reach the climax. The end felt like one big information dump, and for me, that slowed the story down at the wrong time.

I did like the heroine, Tabitha. She tells the entire story, and thus readers are able to obtain a well-rounded idea of who she is. Other characters are mostly one-dimensional, playing their part in this novel. Much of the story is told through dialogue, and having a lot of conversations helped to make this a quick read.

For the most part, author Michele Campbell’s writing kept the book moving at a good pace. Most people will enjoy this story for that reason. For me, the twists were easy to anticipate and while that never caused me to put the book down, I found it difficult to become lost in the story. Three stars.

My thanks to NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for a complimentary electronic copy of this title.

Holy Crap !!! This book is so good ! Sucks you in on the first page and does not let up til you are at the last page ! I love this author and her books ! Definitely a book where you are trying to decide throughout if he is a good man or a bad man. Did he kill his wife ? Or didn't he ? Connor married for money not love that is no secret. But did he kill his wife so he could be with his one true love ? This is a must read. I could not put it down ! There are lots of twists and turns along the way, the ending is terrific. #buythebook

Have you ever read a book, where from the first few pages, you know you're gonna struggle with one of the characters? And thus, with the likability of the book? Well, as much as I love Campbell's work, the main character, Tabitha drove me nuts with her straight up insipid stupidity. I don't know if this was done purposefully by Campbell, or if Tabitha was just poorly written. But dear god, I hated her the entire way through the book. Her husband wasn't much better. But even his dialogue and actions seemed at least a little smarter.

I'm probably being a bit too hard. I've enjoyed all of Campbell's books so far, and even this one, I did follow the story, wanting to know what would happen next. I did predict the events about 1/2 through, which was a little disappointing. And then there was Tabitha, who I wanted to slap many, many times.

I'm still trying to decide if I liked this one or not.

The Wife Who Knew Too Much publishes 7.28.2020.

Tabitha is always falling in love with the wrong guy. When her childhood sweetheart, Connor, comes back into her life she thinks she’s finally found true love. The only hitch? He happens to be married to the super wealthy Nina. When Nina ends up dead, Tabitha thinks she’s finally found her happily ever after. But is Connor the man Tabitha thinks he is and can he be trusted ?⁣

I enjoyed the two POVs of Nina and Tabitha. This keeps you on your toes, wondering which woman’s story is the truth and let’s you connect with each character. I love a good East Coast setting and this one is perfect for creating the atmosphere of the book and setting the stage for the players and mysteries to come. ⁣

Campbell is great at creating red herrings that let the reader think they know what’s happened and then pulls out an OMG twist at the end. ⁣

This is bingeable thriller that’s perfect summer reading along a nice cold glass of white wine

Thank you Netgalley and St. Martins Press for an advanced copy of The wife who knew too much by Michele Campbell. This was a good summer read for me. The story was fast paced and did keep me hooked, although it was a little predictable. Tabitha had her heart broken years ago by Connor Ford. Years later, he shows up at the restaurant she works at the husband of a very wealthy, older woman. She falls for Connor again after a romantic weekend. When Connor’s wife Nina takes her own life, he marries Tabitha. It seems to be a perfect ending to a fairy tale romance that began so many years ago. But then, Tabitha finds a diary. "I’m writing this to raise an alarm in the event of my untimely death," it begins. “If I die unexpectedly, it was foul play, and Connor was behind it. Connor—and her." Who is Connor Ford? Is Tabitha his true love, or a convenient affair? As the police investigate Nina’s death, is she a convenient suspect? 31/2 stars rounded up

The Wife Who Knew Too Much by Michelle Campbell
I am a huge fan of Michelle Cambell and was excited to get this book to review. I am happy to say she didn't disappoint at all, it was fantastic! I loved the book.
This is a combination of love story, mystery and thriller rolled into one. The book pulls you in from the start and never let's you go.
The book has 3 main characters, Nina the wife who dies at the beginning of the book, (first page). The husband and boyfriend of another Conner.
Then there is Tabitha who met Conner when he was a young man and they were lovers. They met again years later when Conner was married to wealthy Nina. After Nina dies questions arise if she was murdered instead of suicide like previously thought. An investigation begins and one will be surprised where it leads to. Not where you might think.
This is a suspenseful, exciting mystery thriller that has a great ending you wont expect. 4 stars for me loving it.

Thank you to @stmartinspress, @netgalley, and @michelecampbellbooks for the early gifted copy of The Wife Who Knew Too Much. It publishes on July 28, and you must read this book!
Tabitha and Connor had a summer romance as teenagers, but it was more than that to Tabitha. Connor was her everything. So when he walks into the restaurant where she works twenty years later, she is floored and elated. One problem—he is married. His wife, Nina, soon commits suicide...or did she? Tabitha and Connor can finally be together. However, Tabitha finds a diary written by Nina, and the first entry states “I’m writing this to raise an alarm in the event of my untimely death. If I die unexpectedly, it was foul play, and Connor was behind it. Connor—and her.” Has Tabitha been set up for murder?
This was a fast paced, gripping thriller with a romance aspect. I really enjoyed the writing, and wasn’t entirely sure who the villain was until the end. I was actually very surprised by the ending! For all the suspense/thriller lovers out there, you’ll love this book!

I received this book from netgalley! I loved it. It is my 2nd book of this author. I can't wait to read more.

I have read and loved other books by this author and this one is right up there among the best.

There is nothing like first love. It’s a special time in a young person’s life when everything is perfect. Everything feels so good and you love with your whole heart. Innocence is yours and no one can take away the feelings you have. Young people take these feelings to heart and don’t believe they can live without that person they love so deeply. A broken heart seems to be worse when you are this young. Truly it’s just something new to a teen though.

Tabitha and Connor fell in love and seemed to have it all figured out. They were totally engrossed with each other and did not need anyone else. It was true love for them both and it was a raw, true, innocent feeling where nothing could interfere with them. Almost nothing. Connor’s grandmother was a force to be reckoned with. She thought she was above everyone. Way better than a lowly hired hand. Tabitha and her grandmother worked for the country club and that is where Tabitha/Tabby, met Connor. They fell hard for each other. Things were not as perfect as they thought. When Connor’s grandmother said to end it Connor did just that.

Many years later and Connor runs into Tabitha again. Is it true love once more or something way more sinister. Is he being honest with her or using her as a fall for his “wife’s” death. Connor married the ultra rich Nina. She’s way older than him and is richer than God. He keeps trying to prove to her that it’s the real thing but once he ran into Tabitha again he’s almost willing to give it all up for true love. Or is he?

There are several people in this story who could have a motive to kill Nina. Her late husbands business partner who has a thing for her. His ex wife who blames her for the demise of her marriage and for her and Connor breaking up. Nina can be a force. She can be a hard woman. But she had been hurt by her late husband also. He was much older and had many affairs during their marriage. She didn’t want to be hurt again and that made it hard for her to trust. Thus she truly believed Connor was going to kill her for her money. But would he do that? Was the money really worth that to him? Would Tabitha be capable of killing Nina to get Connor for herself?

This book starts out strong and stays that way until the very last word. You will turn the pages and wonder what is coming next. Who did what to whom and why. Did Nina really take her own life or had something much worse happened to her? Who can you trust? Who do you believe. Or can you truly believe anyone? There are a few suspects to look at: Connor, Tabitha, Juliet, Hank, Lauren or even Steven Kovacs. One of them may be guilty of murder and others may be hurt trying to find out.

There are many likable characters in this book. The scenes are so realistic and the tension is thick. I found myself holding my breath a few times. Wondering just who do I trust and saying run. Run fast. Get away. Don’t look back just run.

This is a great thriller and you are in for a true treat.

Thank you to #NetGalley #MicheleCampbell #StMartin’sPress for this ARC. This is my own review.

A big 5/5 and the highest recommendation.. You will love it.

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press, Michele Campbell, and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review The Wife Who Knew Too Much.

If you are looking for a fun, fast paced thriller - this book is for you. I devoured this one in less than a day, and while I did solve a few of the twists early, there was still enough mystery to be revealed to keep my attention throughout. While I did thoroughly enjoy this read, I wasn't exactly thrilled with the last few pages, but that's probably on me.

This was a very engaging thriller. It held my attention from start to finish. This book addresses the age old question - for love or money, what really drives a person and what really makes them happy. The heroine is a bit naive at times and a bit annoying but overall the story is a good one with some twists and turns thrown in.

This one had so many twists that I couldn’t even predict the ending. Tabitha and Connor were high school sweethearts until their relationship ended abruptly and they lost contact. Years later, Tabitha is waiting tables at a bar and grill when Connor walks in and sits in her section. Their relationship quickly picks up where it left off. The problem is Connor is already married to Nina Ford, a very wealthy and well known businesswoman. Shortly after the affair begins, Nina commits suicide. Or did she? And if she didn’t, who killed her?

This is an easy, quick read that’s perfect for the beach. It’s packed full of drama, suspense, love and betrayal. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an ARC in exchange for an honest review!

Big fan of author Michele Campbell. Read, She was the Quiet One, Stranger on the Beach and my favorite It's Always the Husband (love the title). She is a gifted author with a talent to write a great story with believable characters.
Not to give away too much about The Wife Who Knew Too Much. Teenage Tabitha is living with her grandmother and working at the local Country Club as a pool girl. She fall in love with handsome preppy Conner. She and Connor has a summer fling. She is experiencing her first true love. Fast forward 15 years and Tabitha is a waitress and one evening she spots Connor in her restaurant. He is still very handsome and charming. Connor and Tabitha meet for a drink after work and she discovers not only is he handsome but wealthy and married. Connor tells her he has always loved her and quickly the relationship develops.
Soon Tabitha is pregnant. She decides she need to tell Connor. So on the evening of the 4th of July she goes to his home to tell him. A big party is under way and she can not get into to house due to gates and security. She leaves and discovers the next day the Connor's wife Nina has committed suicide Due to the prenup between Connor and Nina, if they divorce or Connor was not faithful during their marriage he would not receive her fortune. So was this suicide or murder?
Fun book, highly recommend. A good mystery book has the following, love, lust, drama, greed, cheating and several characters that could have committed the crime.
Thank you St. Martin Press, author Michele Campbell and NetGalley the opportunity to read and give an honest review.

Tabitha Girard had a summer fling as a teenager with Connor Ford, but it was doomed from the start. He was preppy, handsome, and came from a wealthy family, while she worked as a pool girl at the country club his family belonged to. When it ended, her heart was broken and she never forgot him. So when he walked into the restaurant she worked at years later, wanting to pick up where he left off, she couldn't say no.....even though he was a married man. He claims he is unhappily married, but there is a prenup so he can't leave his wife. But then Connor's wife Nina is found dead, and suddenly Connor is a free man after all.
I had a love/hate relationship with this book. I loved the previous two books I read by this author, so I was excited to read this one. But this one just didn't do it for me. None of the characters were really likable, Tabitha seemed really dumb (bless her heart), a lot of the story was predictable, and it wasn't until the end that there was a real twist to it and things got interesting.

What a perfect summer read! It was super twisty and I really enjoyed all of the unknowns. People were definitely not at all what they seem, which I LOVE in a good thriller! It was fast-paced and showed what money can do to people. Thank you @netgalley and @stmartinspress for my eARC!!

The book opens up with the wealthy first wife's diary entry warning that her husband Connor is cheating on her and she plans on divorcing him. If she dies, then they need to look at her husband. The book then centers on Tabitha, the second wife, and her relationship with Connor. Tabitha grew up in the poor section of town and wasn't supposed to mix with the country club boy Connor. Ten years later, Connor comes back to town and they reconnect. With a lawsuit pending on the estate, Connor is afraid that the investigation of his wife's death will be reopened. I received a free copy of the ebook from the publisher through Netgallery. This is a very suspenseful book that has a lot of twists. Tabitha is a very naive heroine whose basic goodness shines through. I was frustrated by decisions made by both Tabitha and Connor. Even though I was not a fan of the characters in the book, I was engrossed in the book until I finished it.

Money and power seemed to be the only thing that mattered to Connor Ford.

He took what he wanted with his charm and wealth, and broke Tabitha's heart many years ago.

Connor is now married to wealthy Nina, but cheats with Tabitha.

Where can this lead? It leads to deceit, murder, lies, and another fantastic Michele Campbell book.

You don't know who to trust or want to trust.

Every character has something to hide or some trait that doesn’t seem above board.

The suspicions about who the murderer is will keep you on the edge of your seat and have you worried about Tabatha‘s safety in all of this.

Was she brought on the scene to conveniently be accused of or complicit in this murder or blamed for anything else Connor had done so he wouldn’t be blamed?

THE WIFE WHO KNEW TOO MUCH had everything a thriller promises. You will not be able to stop reading.

Make this book a must on your summer reading list. 5/5

This book was given to me by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
