A spectacular page turner! The Wife Who Knew Too Much by Michele Campbell was just that. I must have been hiding under a rock for her to just come into my radar. Wow! She is good. Ms. Campbell had me on the edge of my seat with my heart pounding out of my chest and so breathless, I was hoping I wouldn't pass out. Now, that is my kind of book!

Tabitha who is the main character is someone most of us can identify with. She is a struggling waitress who runs into the guy she fell in love with one summer as a teenager. We've all been there. Right? You really care for her and she is an upstanding woman. The hell she goes through will keep you turning the pages late into the night.

This book crosses a few genres including Domestic and Crime Thrillers. Those two are a couple of my favorite genres to read. If you haven't discovered Michele Campbell yet, I strongly urge you to try this book. I just know you will love it!

I received a copy of this book from the publisher for a fair and honest review.

AMAZING. One of the best thrillers/murder mysteries I've read this year. I was engaged from the very beginning and kept guessing until the very end. I was trying to figure out what happened to Nina the whole time and despite my numerous hunches, was still wrong at the end! And yet, the whole thing was believable. There were a few loose ends that I wish were wrapped up a bit more neatly, but overall I highly recommend to thriller lovers out there.

I smoked this book!!! This is officially my second favorite suspense/thriller of 2020. Tabitha is a divorced waitress who, during one of her shifts at the restaurant, comes face to face with high school boyfriend, Connor, whom she never forgot as, to this day, she considers him the one and true love of her life. Connor is married to multi-billionaire Nina Levitt but he cannot deny that seeing Tabitha after all these years brought his feelings for her back to the surface. They end up sleeping together that night. Then Nina, the wealthy wife, is found dead in her pool.

This is a complicated whodunit story with so many good twists and turns, and all this money and wealth does not help figuring things out... anybody could have killed Nina!

This book was unputdownable from the romance, the mystery, sexy Connor, the lavish mansion and lifestyle, the exotic travels destinations, the back story,... I loved absolutely everything about this book!

If you are looking for an atmospheric contemporary thriller with head-spinning family secrets, look no further!!

Thank you so much Net Galley and St. Martin’s Press for this e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

Last year I loved A Stranger on the Beach so I was so excited to receive Michele Campbell’s newest novel and I was not disappointed. This novel started at such a great pace I flew through much of it in one day. I was so intrigued by the characters and their back story I could not wait to see where the adventure lead. The misdirection in this thriller is strong and I hope it might leave you guessing.

Tabitha and Connor are from different words but one summer in their youth their paths cross and the have a fling that ends in heartbreak. Fast forward and their socioeconomic status could not be more different nor the year that they spent apart but somehow Connor finds his way back into Tabitha’s life. With one big problem though. His very (very) wife. After a weekend fling Connor wants to end his marriage but there is an issue with the prenup that is very delicate. Then the wife ends up dead in her swimming pool.

This story is gripping and honestly you find yourself with so many assumptions that I am still not sure if they are correct or just by chance.

The Wife Who Knew Too Much is our July 28th and you aren’t going to want to miss it!

Michell Campbell writes another thriller. The Wife Who Knew Too Much is filled with unsuspecting twists. The storyline was intriguing and drew me in from the start of the book. It’s a great escape book for this summer.

Fast paced, but a bit too campy for me. Some of the plot was unrealistic. I never got fully invested in the relationships. It was good bit didn’t completely work for me.

If you enjoy twists and turns, this is a good domestic thriller for you. There are some slower parts but there’s enough action to keep you guessing what is going to happen next. I thought the title was clever. I would have liked to see deeper aspects to a couple of the main characters. This would be a good beach read.
Thanks to NetGalley, St. Martin’s Press, and the author Michele Campbell for an advanced digital review copy. This book will be published July 28th, 2020.

Thank you, NetGalley for an opportunity to read The Wife Who Knew Too Much.
Great thriller with a well-developed plot and characters. This is my first book from this author but it will definitely not be the last. What I like in the mystery, suspense, and thriller books that this book offered is the ending no one could see coming. Keep up the good work!

Wow. Just wow. This had some twists I didn’t see coming. The writing was beautiful . I didn’t get bored with the characters.

A domestic thriller perfect for fans of shockingly twisted thrillers. I had no idea all the twists and turns that were coming - this was entirely unpredictable (and I pride myself on being able to predict thriller twists). Michele Campbell has cemented herself as a must read author for me!

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for an e-ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Tabitha and Connor have a history; however, as time moves on Tabitha lives an a simple life as a waitress and Connor has moved onto marrying a much older wealthy woman named Nina.

One day they cross paths again and he declares that he has never stopped loving her. The only thing in the way is his wife and the prenup that if he cheats on her or leaves her, he gets nothing.

As Connor is trying to find a way to leave Nina, she ends up dead from an apparent suicide.

As things unfold, Tabitha starts to question it it was really a suicide. Can she trust Connor? Tabitha ends up the number 1 suspect when they find out about the affair.

This was suspenseful and good in spots, but didn't hold my attention for long periods of time, so it felt like a chore to finish.

The Wife Who Knew Too Much
I received one of Michele Campbell's novels from Netgalley before, so when The Wife Who Knew Too Much came up to review, it was suggested to me. I had liked "Stranger on the Beach" so much that I accepted this one hoping I'd like it as well.
I've never claimed I am a classy reader. I love books that are tacky and dramatic. I can't get enough of the ones that read like Lifetime movies. I don't care if they're predictable. I even compared "Stranger on the Beach" to a Lifetime movie. "The Wife Who Knew Too Much" is no different. It even has a Lifetime name.
Tabitha met the love of her life the summer she turned 17. Handsome Connor, a member of the country club where she worked noticed Tabby and for a short time, she thought their summer fling would end with forever. Instead it ended with heartbreak.
Tabitha moved on with her life, until the day he reappeared in her life, handsome as ever. Connor seems just as happy to see her, and tells her of his unhappy marriage, how he's never forgotten their summer, and just like that, it's like all those years apart never happened. Then, Nina, his beautiful, extremely wealthy wife is found dead, possibly of suicide.
Tabitha quickly marries Connor and moves into Windswept, his former wife's sweeping estate. She feels uncomfortable and alone, the fairy tale she dreamed of not quite what she expected. Then, she finds Nina's diary.
"If I die unexpectedly, it was foul play, and Connor was behind it. Connor- and her."
Obviously after that, Nina's death begins to look more suspicious and it's beginning to look more and more like Tabitha was involved in Nina's death.
It was an ok summer thriller. There were some things that I predicted incorrectly, but I felt the final bit of it was muddled hurried. I will point out that Tabitha annoyed me deeply. Everything about her was just needy and whiny and I really didn't care whether or not she was a murderer or being thrown under the bus. I just wanted her to stop whining about her husband have to work and 'OUR baby.'
In short, there's better summer thrillers out there, but there's also worse ones out there.
2.5/5 stars

Thanks to @netgalley for the book! I had a little bit of a love hate relationship with this book. I read it in less than 24 hours, finishing it this morning. The story is told through different perspectives mainly Tabitha (Tabby) but also Nina. Nina is a wealthy widow who married Connor two years ago. She is killed but you find out in the first few goes her husband is having an affair and she feels threatened by him. Tabitha was in love with Connor years ago one summer. One day she seems him at the restaurant she works at. After a magical weekend they decided to be together but Connor needs to figure out how to leave his wife without losing 10 million dollars but the she does. Many of the characters were not very likable. Connor made bad choices and was all over. Tabby just was in a love sick bubble. At the same time, I literally couldn’t put the book down@and wasn’t sure at all the direction it was going to take. So all in all not a bad read ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.

This was such a quick, thrilling read. Michele Campbell is the queen of domestic thrillers and this one delivers. I read this book in one, I couldn’t put it down. With twist and turns around every page, I definitely recommend checking this book out. This book begins with death of the first Mrs. Ford and is written from the perspective of the second Mrs. Ford. Can Mr. Ford be trusted? Who is telling the truth? Such an engaging, page-turner. This is the perfect summer beach read! Thanks netgalley for the e-ARC.

Similar to “A Stranger on the Beach”, this book featured a beach mansion, marriages of convenience, and affairs. Unlike the prior book, however, this one fell flat. The dialogue is pathetic. No man sees a naked woman and says “so ripe.” That was the most bizarre moment of this book for me, but it wasn’t the only time I groaned at the dialogue.

The characters are also hateable. All of them. Tabitha’s desperation is only exceeded by her stupidity and naïveté. It’s hard to follow along with her because the author gave us nothing redeemable to hold onto.

The same can be said for Connor. His character is horrendous. He’s either scolding Tabitha for stupid mistakes or he’s out of the picture. What a great guy. What a deep character.

The mystery itself was pretty good. I was interested in the outcome, having changed my prediction several times. Like other reviewers have written, the last third of the book is where the reader turns those pages.

Overall, despite the poor character of the characters, and despite the poor character development, I would give this mystery a solid three stars.

Gripped me from the beginning!
Tabitha never got over her first love Connor Ford. Tabitha was a poor girl living with her grandmother and working at a country club when she met Connor who was a member through his own grandmother. Their relationship was forbidden by both sides and Connor chose his family over her. She never moved on from the small town they grew up in and working at the local diner is where she sees him again 13 years later, He is much richer and in a loveless marriage and never got over her either. When a short time after they reconnect, his wife is found dead and although he is a prime suspect, he is unable to control himself and he immediately moves Tabby in.
It doesn’t take long for her to wonder if she made the right decision. She doesn’t belong in this high class world tryin to fit the shoes of his dead wife. She also wonders who she married and what is he capable of?
Kept me guessing to the end! Thank you Netgalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review!

Good thriller that keeps you guessing up til the end. I liked the narrative device of the diary and wish it would have appeared more. Semi predictable but an enjoyable read. Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC.
