Michele Campbell has done it again! I don’t know how her stories just completely suck me in, but boy do they!

This one starts with a journal implicating someone for their untimely demise, but then it goes into a dreamy love story that would make anyone green with envy.

However... what happens after that is just completely scandalous and, well, a little sad too. There were parts that kind of dragged, but I don’t think it detracted from the bigger picture.

I was suspicious of one character from the get-go, and I was right, but I didn’t know the why or the how.

This novel is reminiscent of a couple classics. There is definitely some Gatsby-esque stuff going on, but I couldn’t help but feeling that Tabitha was a lot like the narrator in Rebecca, too.

Give this one a read!

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by Michele Campbell but it might be my favorite. I’m glad this was an ebook so I couldn’t cheat and check out the ending. The plot twisted and turned when I thought I figured it out boom something else. The only reason I gave 4 stars was because I would’ve liked a different ending. This is definitely going to be a summer beach thriller

Such a good story.
All the details between a marriage between Connor and his very very wealthy wife,Nina, intermixed with characters from all sides of the story, bring you into a mystery worth hanging around for.
Nina & her third, much younger husband Connor certainly have the make up for drama from the get go,but add in other players from Nina & her husbands past and you get a whirlwind of characters and drama waiting to unfold.
For fans of “Its Always the Husband” and “Strangers On the Beach” this is a dream read waiting to happen. A detailed novel from the start will set you right into the throughs & you will enjoy every sentence to the very end.

This book grabbed me in the first pages. A wife, Nina is writing in her journal about her imminent death. There would be someone to blame and she knew who it was. Her death would be no accident. Exciting, right?

From that point on, I was excited for what was to come. Nina married into a rich family by marrying a much older man. When her husband died, she went on to become a rich society wife that ran a very successful company. She would never need for anything again. She was high profile, beautiful and living her life. Then, she became her husband and ended up marrying a man, Connor, years her junior. This is where the story pulled me away. Why would a seemingly smart and successful business woman get into a relationship and marry a man that she knows nearly nothing about a year after her previous husband died? Yes, it happens, but the way it progresses and happens so fast left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

The first half of the story slowly built up with us getting to know past characters and current characters. We got to know a little bit of Nina as well of Connor (her husband) and Tabitha (Connor's love interest for one summer when he was younger) and some side characters that worked for Nina. I really wasn't feeling any of the characters. Although I hated that Nina came to an untimely death, I thought her stupidity almost warranted it. But no one deserves to die at the hands of another.

The pacing was steady and perfect for the story being told. The characters were my draw back. Nobody was really likable and I never knew who I wanted to pull for. Even Connor and his past with Tabitha didn't make sense. They had one summer together when they were teens, yet we are to believe they have a connection 10 + years later. I wasn't buying it. But this story is about money and class divides and revenge. There is so much more to the story than you originally think and THAT I liked.

I enjoyed the twists, but didn't really connect with any characters and thought the story was ok. It had promise at the beginning and the slow build was appetizing, but then it fell off. Even with all the twists, there was potential that wasn't fully fulfilled. 3+ stars

A second chance romance turned horrifically wrong....

This book follows Tabby, a waitress just trying to get by in life. Then enters an ex lover from her childhood. Only problem is, he's married to a woman named Nina. We learn at the beginning that Nina committed suicide.

This book captivated me from the start. It was a very fast paced read and I read the first half quickly. The second half is where it started to slow down in my opinion. I LOVED most of this book and the writing was great and easy to read. The ending really shocked me! The only problem I had was with the ending. I can't say more without giving away spoilers but I just wished things would have ended a little differently.

Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review!

Loved Michele’s “A Stranger on the Beach” and beyond elated to be offered a chance to read this one! Huge thanks to Netgalley, Michele and St. Martin’s Press for allowing me this opportunity!

LOVED this one! Fast paced, had me on the edge of my seat and couldn’t get enough of the storyline! UNREAL y’all! I felt like I was on a roller coaster. I felt like there were so many twists and turns, background info and storyline in this one that I was not bored for one moment! Happy dance all the way to my laptop on this one!

Ok, I will give you the fact that it sits on the fence in a romantic read sort of way, and I am not a lover of romance reads, but to me, this had just enough dark, gripping, moving and plotting to knock it off the fence and keep me engaged. I mean, murder? Come on guys.....that doesn’t speak warm and fuzzy to me....just saying!

Way to go Michele and I can’t wait to dive into the next offering you place before me! ;).

Thank you to Netgalley, the author and the publisher for this ARC.

This book did not grab me at all. The characters seemed almost watered down. They were one-dimensional and I couldn’t get invested in their storyline. The plot seemed like it would grab me with the intro diary entry written by a soon-to-be-dead woman. It excited me. I thought this would be a unique story. Right off the bat we know to suspect the husband. But this fell flat.

I enjoy Michele Campbell's books. She is great at developing the characters and building the plot.. This new book is primarily the story of Conner and Tabitha. Tabitha is a girl from the wrong side of the tracks who had a brief fling with Conner, a rich kid, when they were both very young. Fast forward to the present and Tabitha is working as a waitress when jet-setting Conner comes back into her life. There is a complication - Conner is married to a much older and very wealthy woman, Nina. At the very start of the book, Nina predicts her death in a diary which really piqued my interest.

There are twists aplenty and my loyalties shifted back and forth several times. Tabitha was sweet but I found myself annoyed by her poor choices at times. I did find myself invested in her character and hoped for positive outcome. The other characters, including Conner, were complicated and their motives were suspect most of the time.

All in all, it was a good read Thank you to Netgalley and St. Martin's Press for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. It did not end completely they way I had expected. It is a great murder mystery/who done it.

The Wife Who Knew Too Much starts off with a love story with Connor who is rich due to his grandmother and Tabitha who is poor living with her grandma working at the country club Connor's grandma owns. They fell in love when they were young but Connor's grandmother didn’t want him dating a poor girl. Years later Connor ( who is even richer than ever and now married) shows up at Tabitha's restaurant job and it goes from there. One night Nina (Connors wife) is murdered...
Is she murdered over jealousy or money…?

This was a super-fast read when it wanted to be. In the beginning, I was confused, I was like am I reading a romance? Those parts were so boring to me, it truly made the book drag. Tabitha was a dumb character which made me mad most of the time. The ending was predictable but it wasn’t. When it came to an end I wasn’t surprised but yet I didn't see it coming either.

Even though this was a 3 star read from me, it was still entertaining so I will be buying a copy to support both Michele and St.Martin's. Of course, no matter what the book is about Michele Campbell is an auto-buy author for me. Thank You to St. Martins Press and NetGalley for this arc!

I'm a huge fan of Michele Campbell's books and was extremely excited to read and review an early copy of The Wife who Knew too much. This book did not disappoint me i am happy to say. I was immediately drawn into this book and it kept me turning pages throughout from Nina's first diary entries as well as Tabitha and Connor's story..
I really loved the character Tabitha - working as a waitress in her hometown, she reconnects with her high school summer fling Connor who just happens to be married to a Nina, a wealthy older woman and his prenuptial agreement will leave him losing everything. Shortly after Tabitha and Connor reconnect - Nina is found dead - drowned in the swimming pool of her lavish estate. Did Nina kill herself or is someone else responsible? What happens when Tabitha finds Nina's hidden diary? You'll have to read and find out! Thank you so much St. Martin's Press and Netgalley for giving me this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

The Wife Who Knew Too Much is what happens when romance and thriller genres intersect... and it was excellent.

I was pulled into this book from the very beginning with Nina Levitt's diary entry. She pens that her husband is trying to kill her and if anything happens to her then it was Connor who did it. The next morning she wakes up dead.

Tabatha, is currently a waitress in the old town she grew up in, when her ex, Connor, walks in. Connor, the one who got away that summer as teens, and the one she hasn't stopped loving since. Too bad Connor is married to Nina Levitt and has no intention of giving up Nina's money.

The first half of the book you're kind of like "hmm, okay this is kind of a romance where you know something bad is going to happen" and the second half is like "okay WTF am I reading!!!!" (in the best possible way).

As Tabatha gets pulled more and more into Connor's life and the investigation of who killed Nina, Tabatha has to ask herself is she really knows who Connor is anymore and if he's framing her for Nina's death.

I have been hearing about this author for quite some time and was pretty happy when I was given the chance to read it. I'm not saying that I will never read another book by this author but I was Throw in a couple of characters who become a huge part of the story but are not well developed and it's a confusing jump into the story.

I thought this book was very predictable and ended exactly how I thought it would.

This book was an attention grabber from the beginning, and gave the reader a Romeo and Juliet scenario. Boy meets girl. They fall in love. Their families do not agree with the relationship and break them apart.

Years later, Connor conveniently shows up at the restaurant where Tabitha works, and it is as if time has stood still. They find out they still have feelings for each other and spend the night together. The bad thing is, Connor is married to a very rich woman named Nina and he promises Tabitha he is going to leave her. Tabitha soon discovers she is pregnant and goes looking for Connor at the Ford's annual 4th of July party in a panic.

Nina dies that night and where it is ruled a suicide, it eventually becomes clear she was murdered, but by who? You follow around all the other characters who are employed by the Ford's and Tabitha soon finds herself convinced of the murder. It's her job to prove her innocence, and at times, she is convinced Connor is involved.

This book took a very good turn and I was not able to guess who was involved. The ending could have been happier, because that's of course what we all want, but it eventually all made perfect sense.

I thought this book was really good. It’s a twisty turny who did it kinda book. It keeps you guessing until the end.

The writing is good and I read it in one sitting. It’s 3:00 am now and I’ve just finished it. Would try something else from this author.

I was given this book in exchange for my honest opinion.

The Wife Who Knew to Much is a fast paced mystery/thriller.

Nina the ever so rich wife of Connor leaves an intriguing diary entry which from page one grabs your attention.

Her husband, not so faithful Connor, falls back in love with Tabitha.

Oh Tabitha did you really think it would be smooth sailing? You really made terrible choices.

The pages fly by, you cheer on Tabitha despite how things to start snowball against her.

Not going to give anything else away but grab your copy and settle in for a page turning read.

Thanks to Net Galley and St Martin's Press for a thrilling read.

The premise and first few chapters had me hooked! Then Tabitha was just too stupid for words. I kept forgetting that she was 30 years old because she was acting like a teenager. But anyway. The story was just decent but the characters kind of ruined it for me.

Tabitha Girard’s life did not go the way she had always planned. After having her heartbroken in high school by Connor Ford, Tabitha is still living in the same town she grew up in, waitressing to make ends meet. When Connor walks into her life again, she is completely thrown off. Soon the two are reuniting and reminiscing about days gone by, and their feelings for each other return quickly and passionately. The one problem? Connor is married to uber rich socialite Nina, and leaving her would mean leaving his lavish lifestyle, so the two must keep their relationship a secret. Until the day Nina’s body is found in her own pool, and police begin to doubt that it was a suicide. Tabitha is soon a suspect, as is Connor, and now that the two of them can be together once again, they are in more danger than ever before.
Michele Campbell is the author of “It’s Always the Husband”, “Stranger on the Beach” and “She Was the Quiet One”. I have been lucky enough to have read, and enjoyed, all three. Being privy to this new release as well was just as exciting for me, and I was thrilled for the chance.
Right off the bat, you know that something is amiss. Campbell hints at a possible murder, and conspiracy plot, but throughout the entire novel she gives away no obvious clues so you are left guessing. Everyone is just as likely to be a suspect as someone else, and no character is completely innocent.
Tabitha’s real life Cinderella, rags-to-riches story makes her the more relatable character, coming from a working class background. Nina and Connor have had ultra-luxurious and lavish lives, unwilling to part with an ounce of their fortune, even for the safety and happiness of themselves and their family. I would like to say this part is unbelievable but to be fair, I highly doubt it. The rich stay rich for a reason, right?
All of Campbell’s characters have something likable about them, and I didn’t actually expect to like all of them as much as I did. The twists and turns in this novel are right on par with Campbell’s previous works. This novel pulls you in from the first page and doesn’t let go. The ending hits and although some of it was predictable, other parts of it were not. It plays out like an entertaining-as-hell TV movie, but that’s not a bad thing.
Campbell’s creativity and writing skill only increases with each book she pens, and I’m thrilled that I got to be an early reader for all of her novels up to this point. She knows how to write a pulse-pounding novel full of unexpected twists and turns, and I look forward to reading more from her.
