to read this book thanks to NetGalley. I am a huge fan of this author and was thrilled to be approved for this title. It did not disappoint and I absolutely loved it. Her characters are always amazing and you become so wrapped up and involved in their stories the book is hard to put down. The writing is impeccable.
will always be a fan and can’t wait for her next book. Thanks again to NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.
I have been a long time fan of Katherine Center, dating back to Happiness for Beginners. Her books are always a must read for me! And once again I was swept away by her writing and narrative style. Sam and Duncan were such lovely characters. The writing made me grieve the old Duncan and root for him, even when he was being simply awful. I loved this book right up until the ending. The ending was just a little too fantastical for me. And I'm definitely glad I read some reviews. I needed to know those content warnings going in. Overall an enjoyable read!
I am a fan of Katerine's novels as she has a way of writing that sucks the reader in, with great plot development, character development, and an all around great writer.
This novel was no exception. I enjoyed reading about the lives of the main characters and watching their story evolve and unfold. A book I recommend!
Katherine Center is one of the kindest souls and it was an honor to read this book. It isn't perfect but I adored Happiness for Beginners so I felt closure with some of my favorite characters.
I just couldn’t connect with the characters enough. I am all for romance but there was just too much schmaltz here. I really liked How to Walk Away and hoped this would be similar. The only similarity was one character’s traumatic life-changing event. I didn’t really like Sam and found the romance angle just goofy. There was also one very long dance scene that was just too long and too lame and I just skimmed over pages of it. I really feel like an editor could have cut that down a bit. And I get that poor communication and not telling someone how you really feel is a romance-genre trope, but I am over it.
Thanks to NetGalley for the digital copy.
Thank you St. Martin’s Press and Netgalley for allowing me to read this ARC.
This was an easy and fast read. Thoughtful, emotional and very enjoyable.
This is a story about loving yourself as you are, finding the joy in small things, and enjoying life to the fullest.
This book was so entertaining. I was drawn into the story from the beginning and was involved until the end. The characters were complex and interesting. I found the story to be well paced and engrossing throughout the whole book. I was invested in the couple throughout the book and felt all the emotions through both the highs and lows of the story. The side characters were such an integral part of this story as well. This is the love story i needed to read at this time. If you want an entertaining and well written book this is it for you
*Thanks so much to St. Martins Press and NetGalley for the complimentary copy for my honest review*
This was my third book I’ve read by Katherine Center and it was, okay. It was a super fast read to say the least, I was able to read the whole thing in less than 12 hours. I did enjoy the enemies to lovers trope that went on throughout the book and the romance at the end was pretty cute. Other than that I really can’t think of anything else I liked about the book, nothing too spectacular happened besides at the end.
Katherine Center is easily one of my favorite authors. As with all of her books, I read this in one sitting and didn’t want the book to end.
I received a free digital copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
The characters in this book stole my heart. My only complaint was the book was too short.
Thank you kindly to the author, the publisher, and NetGalley for this review copy.
Absolutely loved this novel by Katherine Center. Being a school teacher myself I related to so many aspects of this book!! The comraderie amongst the teachers and colleagues is so accurate and at time laugh out loud as well as cringeworthy!! All fellow teachers out there know what I mean! Nothing like have a staff meeting for something that could’ve been sent in an email! This story will make you laugh, cry and will break your heart just to put it back together again!! Quick paced and hard to put down!
I was provided with a free copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
What You Wish For is a beautiful story of Sam’s journey through grief of seeing her previous boss, with whom she was very close, die and to have his successor be someone from her past that she no longer recognizes.
In trying to fight changes happening to the school she works at, she begins to rediscover feelings she had run away from.
The writing is great, very approachable and connects the reader to the story.
A great fun read! Loved this book! Uplifting and many parts worth underlining about coping with challenges. Characters are worth caring about and was sad for it to end.I highly recommend it.
Do you have a automatic go to author? This is mine. She posts on social media she is coming out with a book, I'm on it. I get inpatient, I want to read it, PRONTO!
What You Wish For was so good and quite frankly when the world was in the toilet this beautiful rainbow, unicorns and stars of a novel appeared and it made the world a better place.
The biggest thing about this author is she writes fantastic dialogue.
Really good story, loved the characters. Unique and touching story. Hooked me in from the first chapter. First time I’ve read a book by this author and I look forward to reading more from Katherine Center. I read the kindle version and bought the audible version so when I couldn’t read I could listen. Therese Plummer did a great job on narration. Highly recommend.
A special thank you to St. Martin’s Press via NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.
3.5! This book was very cute, but also very cheesy and slightly predictable. Bonus points for the main character being a librarian!
This was my 2nd Katherine Center book and she is now one of my favorite authors. Her writing is so charming and full of humor. She has the ability to take everyday lives and make it fascinating and entertaining to read. The connection and story building was extraordinary. I think I smiled during each sitting of reading What You Wish For. In fact, when I finished I had to research her other books to begin reading.
Samantha changed her life and settled into a new life as a witty, cheerful, colorful librarian. I think any elementary kid would simply fall in love with Samantha. She is renting a place next to Max and Babette's house and works with them daily. They become her family as well as the other people in town. Life is changed unexpectedly, and Duncan Carpenter finds his way back into her life. But it isn't the same Duncan that she knew before and her world begins to change and she doesn't like it. In typical fashion, Katherine takes traumatic problems, burdens and friendships and turns it into an inspiring story of self discovery and romance. When your heart is on the line, we must take the chance for love. What a journey about love, grief, friendship and simply finding your self with the help of those around you. What You Wish For is a book that simply makes you smile while reading, scream at some of the characters and tell everyone to read it when you finished. It has all the feels and is highly entertaining. Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this wonderful book.
A feel good romance tackling school safety under the guise of a principal and librarian at odds and the quest for joy and living in today's world. A fast amusing read from a solid author. Memorable characters and a happy ending.

Katherine Center has become one of my go-to authors, I'll read whatever she writes! And this book, like the others that came before it, were full of complex, interesting characters that I came to truly care about. This book was a true joy bomb and was a perfect pandemic read to make me laugh and cry.
Loved it!! I feel like I actually know the characters & I've gone through so many different emotions just in one book! I laughed. I cried. I smiled. I was so sad when it was over!! Now I wish it had taken me longer than 3 days to read it. lol
