'Until I Find You' follows the story of Rebecca Gray as she fights to recover her son after vanishing without warning.

As a single mother living with a degenerative eye condition, Rebecca already has the odds stacked against her. Grieving over her husband's loss makes things doubly challenging! We are given a detailed account of everything Rebecca endures as she rebuilds a life for herself and her son Jackson.

Although Rebecca's diminishing sight threatens to steal Rebecca’s independence, this never stops her from doing everything possible in searching for Jackson. Her story is an uphill climb from start to finish, and it constantly left me wondering what obstacle might roll into her path next!

This is Rea Frey’s third book, in which she writes about the lengths people would take in order to establish safety for their children. 'Until I Find You' not only focuses on a mother’s love, but the strong will a mother holds in her heart that deflects challenge. A mother will fight for her children, no matter how many times doubt tries to creep into her soul. This story certainly left a lasting impression in my heart!

High tension, fast-paced, well-written thriller made even more incredible with a blind lead character. Another hit by Rea Frey!

Rebecca Gray is blind. She is also Chris' widow and the mother of 3 month old Jackson. Moving into her childhood home for Mom's help with the baby, and her recent blindness was good until her Mom suddenly died. Bec is determined to manage her life alone with the support of her friends Jess, Becky & Crystal.

When Jackson is swapped after an incident in the park the police don't believes her. Jake Donovan, her pre-Chris boyfriend, is a cop recently returned to Chicago. Jake is determined to help Bec investigate in her search for Jackson.

I partially guess the ending but was still a surprise.

Definitely adding Rea Frey to my must read list.

Wow! I started this book and refused to put it down until I finished. Superbly crafted, complex, truly scary, and believable. Chapters are written from two different perspectives-- main characters are truly likeable, and the plot is just a rollercoaster in so many ways. I will continue to read this author!

Rebecca Grays world is getting darker as she continues to lose her sight. She relies on step counting and her other instincts to move around her daily life, alone with only her infant son. As her sight goes, she begins to feel her surroundings change around her. Is she also losing her mind? But when she goes to pick up her baby in his crib, she immediately knows something is horribly wrong. Where is her son? Why won’t anyone believe that the baby that was left in his place is not her baby? Does a mother really know her baby if she can’t see? This was a great read.

Rebecca Gray is going blind. Her sight is already murky at best. But her 3 month old son needs her. She is sleep deprived and working through the new reality of being a widow. So she has a lot going on when her son goes missing. Well, not really missing as a baby has been left in his place. But she knows it is not her baby. The police and friends don't believe her. So she is determined to find her son. The sense of hopelessness is overwhelming as she begins to hunt for him all by herself.
What a story! The ending is amazing. I liked the book.

Until I Find You is the story of Bec's search for a life that she lost in so many ways. As a newly single mom, Bec suffers from the grief of losing the great love of her life, losing her husband, losing her vision, and now the loss of the most important person in her life. The story meanders around a terrifying event which may or may not have actually happened. The ending is satisfying. This book is easy to read, with short, manageable chapters.

Can you imagine yourself as a young mother realizing someone has taken your baby and replaced it with theirs? No one believes you but you know it is true as every mother knows the unique smells and behaviors of their own baby. Now compound that and imagine the young mother has tragically lost her husband and has a degenerative condition that has caused her to go blind. A great premise for a thrilling read that is well carried out. Love Bec and her conviction to find little Jackson. You won’t be able to put this one down! I’m giving it 2 stars because I managed to finish it.

The story starts with Rebecca walking kind of panicked because she feels someone following her and she can’t see because she is blind. Later on, the story says something about Rebecca losing her last peripheral vision, and I just wondered, was she completely blind at the beginning or not?

Hmm... the first 30% of the book on Kindle is about grieving and remembering the dead husband; some odd situations of doors left open (when she was sure she left the door closed); the police coming in to check (everything is fine); hearing weird noises; and the the life of her friend Crystal, also grieving for her dead husband. Then, finally, the baby is swapped!

Damn! A quarter of the story setting up Rebecca to look crazy so nobody would believe her when she says her son is not her son. You couldn’t have speared me the pain and gone straight to the point?

And what was all that finding the front door open, hearing noises, and furniture out of place? That was never addressed in the story and was left unresolved.

Very weak plot and story.

A very emotional story of a young widow who is slowly going blind. She believes her child has been switched with someone else and well, it's quite a ride. I wish it was summer becuase this would have been a great beach book-- easy to read but engaging enough.

This was a beautifully written book. It was gut wrenching and heartbreaking at times but uplifting as well. This is my first book by this author and I will definitely be checking out her other work!

Rebecca Gray (Bec) may not have her sight, but she knows when the baby laying in the crib is not her son. While even her friends don't see a difference, Bec feels that there is. Bec has already lost her husband, her sight, and her mother. So when even the local police don't believe her, Bec refuses to stop believing that this isn't her son and that she will find him.

This whole book revolves around loss. It paints a very real picture of what grief is like both in the physical and mental realm. Because of this, it's easy to imagine and even empathize with the characters. Almost everyone in this book seems to have lost something or someone. It really bonds the characters and gives a good insight on what it's like to live with loss.

Besides loss, the book also focuses on overcoming hardship. While Bec may be blind, she is not helpless. Bec faces so many things that are so hard, but yet she's still here. I remember a friend of Bec's describing her situations as "unimaginable" in the book and I feel that is the best description.

This book is truly wonderful. It's probably one of the most unique reads I have had. While it doesn't have that "impending doom" feeling that most thrillers tend to, it does have a real look into a lot of the real fears we have today. Loss is probably everyone's truest fear. Whether it be a person, a sense, or ourselves, loss is terrifying.

What a read! A breathing, gripping read! I experienced numerous emotions on Bec’s behalf, including frustration, anger and helplessness. Bec is blind, no one believed that Jackson, her son was switched. How can she tell they all whispered; all babies look alike? Bec recently lost her mom, her husband and now the child she holds she claims is not hers. Is she just paranoid?
I admired Bec’s strength and determination as she fought to locate Jackson. The author did an excellent job of keeping you engaged. A surprising conclusion.` I highly recommend this book.

Wow, this was yet another Rea Frey book that I had a difficult time putting down.

This story is about our main character, Bec who is a recently blind and widowed new mother. Because she is so exhausted we are easily led to believe that her feelings of paranoia might be her own imaginings. So when Bec believes her son is switched with another baby the same age and nearly identical to her own, we are lead down a wild road of figuring out what happened and who really is to blame.

Loved this book! Excellent writing and kept me mesmerized until the final shocking conclusion. Unique story and not your usual is my husband cheating on me with my best friend kind of plot. Highly recommend,

Sometimes the implausible becomes plausible given the times we live in.

This was quite the tale about a young mother who faces insurmountable obstacles, for you see, she is blind, has recently lost both her husband and mother, and has a new baby to care for. Rebecca Gray, has certainly had a lot stacked against her, but through a group of wealthy neighborhood friends she seems to have formed friendship alliances which are helping her through this tough time.

Then the unthinkable happens and brings into question whether Rebecca is competent and whether a mother really does know her child. Up against those who disbelieve her, Rebecca seems to wage a one woman war against what she holds in her heart to be true. Then an old flame shows up and the struggle is to get him to believe that what Rebecca is experiencing isn't the result of trauma, but one of truth.

This was an interesting tale, one which had many of those needed twists and turns we all seem to expect in our thrillers. There were some slightly farfetched occurrences, but overall this story held my attention and made for a fine escapism book from the trials of today.

Until I find you is a very emotional read. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough and just couldn’t put it down. Rebecca is recently widowed and a new mom, not to mention that she is blind. She finds raising her son is very challenging but knows every inch of him. One day she falls in the park with her other mom friends helping her. Rebecca gets home and when she hears her son cry and goes to pick him she realizes it isn’t her son. Rebecca’s son hardly ever cries. No one believes that this is not her son and thinks she is just sleep deprived. Rebecca won’t give up until she knows the truth and finds her son. This is a story about the powerful love of a mother and nothing will stop her. This is a definite must read.

Until I Find You by Rea Frey was a great book but I have to tell you that anything with the eyes freaks me out. In this book, the character of Rebecca is losing her eyesight. That just gives me chills. Can you even imagine losing a vital part of yourself like that?

Add to that, Rebecca’s son is missing. Who is this other child? Where is her?

Eye loss AND the loss of a child? OMG.

Synopsis:

When I requested this book I didn't know what to expect, but the story sounded intriguing. And it was! Was Bec right and her baby had been switched for another? No one else believes her. Her friends say the baby still looks the same. The police are no help. Good writing, good characters, good story! Thank you Netgalley for this ARC!

Rea Frey has done it again. I now know to block out time for her books because they will suck you in with no regard for other obligations or sleep! She is able to weave a story where you completely feel everything happening personally. Imagine being joyously pregnant and losing your spouse. Now add on that you have a degenerative disease and are losing your eyesight. It seems unmanageable but what are the options? The story starts ominously with Rebecca feeling like someone is following her as she walks her baby in the park. As a reader that sense of dread settles in. This book is not a version of a story you’ve heard before. It’s engrossing, and shows the power of trusting your instincts and not doubting yourself. It’s masterfully written and I could not steer you wrong by telling you to log this in your calendar for 8-11-20. #netgalley
