She Loves Me is an enjoyable friends to lovers story which features two unique characters. At first, Piper and Harley may seem like an unlikely couple—she’s a tough cookie with a NO commitment rule while Harley is a strong, determined man who loves his family. The couple’s off the charts chemistry and hilarious back and forth banter are spot on and make for a fun read!
Harley is taking care of his two nieces when he trips and severely injures his ankle. Piper rushes to the hospital to bring an injured Harley home and within minutes finds herself taking care of Harley, his two nieces and Jiggs, the family dog. …and maybe just maybe falling for Harley!
Although, She Loves Me is a sensuous contemporary, I feel that describing it that way doesn’t do it justice. Melissa Foster is known for writing smart, sexy protagonists. The multi-faceted Harley demonstrates the author’s ability to create characters who capture your heart from the first page of the book. Harley Dutch is an intelligent, confident, patient man who puts his family first. He’s been in love with Piper for ages. She sees him as a friend. I loved it that Harley used his ankle injury to win Piper’s over. He’s has been given an opportunity to win her heart and he uses it to his advantage!
Loved that Harley addressed Piper’s relationship issues—Piper’s confession resonated with me and gave so much insight into this complex heroine. Piper realizes that she sees Harley differently; she cares about him. Piper isn’t the tough characters that she appears to be—she’s got a soft spot in her heart for her sisters, her brother and their children. My favorite Piper scene? Piper and Jiggs (the dog) crashing into a sweet filled bakery…it was fabulous!
The conclusion to this novel is fast paced and well written. Harley has a compassionate heart to heart with a family member who reminds him to put himself first and not to waste a minute with Piper. Melissa Foster has a talent for writing the perfect HEA for her couples but, Piper believes in love, not marriage. Will that be enough for Harley? The books loveable characters and friends to lovers romance blend perfectly together in this feel good read.
If you are looking for a romance with a swoony hero and a sassy heroine-then She Loves Me is perfect for you!
Finding the balance between heartwarming and sizzling romance can be difficult, unless you're Melissa Foster. She brings these family of characters to life. Piper Dalton and Harley Dutch are in each other's lives as the one who sees them as their best self. As friends and more. Although Piper has walls that seem insurmountable Harley may have the secret potion to dissolve them and he's not afraid to use everything in his arsenal. From his dog to his nieces Harley uses patience and understanding to show Piper he isn't looking to change her, only to love her.
**4.5 Stars**
Special thanks to Melissa Foster and Montlake for the advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
I have been waiting FIVE books (the entire Sugar Lake series and Harmony Pointe Series) for Piper and Harley's relationship to turn into something more. The anticipation and the slow burn - even the slightest of hint in the other books - made the relationship between Piper and Harley explosive.
Harley will definitely make his case if you are in the market for a new book boyfriend. He has been all in and patient for YEARS now. YEARS! He knew deep down Piper had feelings for him and waited until the timing was right. His resiliency, his ruggedness, and his patience will have you swooning the entire way through.
>Piper, although tough as nails, has a sensitive, vulnerable side that only Harley sees. She cannot seem to get out of her own way when it comes to Harvey. But that's OK because Piper gives She Loves Me the perfect amount of angst.
Recommendation: Melissa Foster's latest installment of the Harmony Pointe Series is one hell of a swoon-worthy, angsty friends to lover read!
She Loves Me is a fantastic read. You will just love Piper and Harley. Piper is strong, independent and one of the guys. Harley is protective, caring and tired of waiting. I love the bond between Piper and Harley. You can just see their friendship grow to more. Once you find out why Piper is the way she is you feel for her. She is strong and you still see that romantic side of her. I love Piper and Harley together so much. He is exactly what Piper needs and isn't afraid to put in the work and wait for her to get there. I couldn't put this down. I loved every minute of Piper and Harley. By the time I was done reading this one my heart was just bursting with happiness. Melissa Foster has shown again why she is one of my go to authors when I'm looking for something to read.
Absolutely adorable, I loved this, such a fun read but also emotional. This book is a great distraction and it was fun seeing characters from the previous books, but this can be read as standalone even though it’s the third book of harmony pointe they can all be read as standalone books. I loved Harley, he was such a sweetheart and sexy, Piper is cautious and tricky but she has her reasons. It’s a cute story and a great distraction

I really liked Piper and Harley’s story, but I did struggle at times with Piper. She was a tough cookie, didn’t let anyone pigeon hole her into a stereotypical “girl” role, and I loved this about her. What I didn’t love about her was the fact that no matter how much her family and friends told her otherwise, she let a short term high school romance blind her to the fact that she did love, and loved deeply, judging by her actions.
This was my biggest complaint about the book. I think all the constant reassuring she needed extended the story a bit more than need be. I understand it builds drama and strife, and that ultimately it can make for a more satisfying and exciting HEA. But it’s also a gamble that might cost reads who are tired of a characters inability to just get over themselves!
Harley, on the other hand, I adored. He had the patience and love to wait Piper out. He knew what he wanted and he went after it. He might not have pushed her too hard or too quickly, but he wasn’t passive. He was definitely an alpha male, but a gentle one...that “bad boy” with the gooey center I gravitate towards.
While the heat level is high, I think it blended well with their relationship, both as friends then later as lovers. The one thing Melissa Foster does not skimp on is smexy times. In some of her books, it can overwhelm the story. Not in this book. I thought it was hot without being repetitive or unnecessary.
I’ve enjoyed this series for those reasons and more. I would definitely recommend She Loves Me to new and existing readers of Foster’s books. It can read as a stand-alone, but I would think most readers would still go back and read the others, even if they started here.
Piper & Harley are wonderful! They have been best friends forever & neither of them wanted to risk losing that friendship to explore the attraction they felt. That is until Harley decided he’d had enough & pushed forward. He did everything he could to make Piper see that taking their relationship deeper wasn’t a risk. If he could only get Piper to see things his way! Piper stays stubborn as long as she can. Can they find a way to move forward?
Wow! Harley is unbelievable. The depth of his emotions & feelings come through the page. The narrative makes it easy to draw pictures of the scenes in your mind as you are reading. His patience was unbelievable. I’m glad the author had him realize how difficult this was for Piper & to see how honest she was in every interaction. She wasn’t trying to turn away from him but was trying to preserve what she felt was the best thing in her life. As you read, you felt her fear & pain & then finally her resolve. The only person she lied to was herself. While this is part of a series, it can be read as a stand alone. Each book has the same cast of characters but each couples story is contained within the covers of their book.
I love all of Melissa Foster’s books and this is no exception. I have been waiting for Piper’s book since the first book in the beginning of the Sugar Lake/Harmony Pointe series. I loved Piper and Harley’s friendship in the previous books and was happy to see it turn into a relationship in this book. I definitely recommend this book and the books before it!
So fun, sweet, entertaining, and sexy! This was charming, a best friends to lovers romance, that was filled with LOL funny, sweet and sassy banter, a lot of heart, and the perfect amount of heat. I was immediately hooked.
Harley Dutch and Piper Dalton have been best friends for a few years, since he returned home to Sweetwater. He loved being a pain in her butt, giving her grief about one thing or another, and scaring off her dates. They spent most nights with friends drinking at Harley’s Family pub. But he also had been keeping a secret from her and he knew it was time to set his plan into motion.
Watching Harley and Piper come together was fantastic. Piper has some demons and even though I wanted to throttle her early on, I loved watching her let down her walls through out the story. I swooned hard for Harley! Nothing like a man with a plan! He was just so sweet, sexy and tender and there was a lot of underlying emotion happening between them. I loved just how supportive and positive he was, they were just really good for each other. I thought that they were such fantastic characters and I loved all the tension between them. I also loved all the secondary characters that added so much to their story.
I loved this. So much. So very much! It was a fantastic mix of everything I adore in a story: humor, heart, and heat. Just when I think this series can’t get better, Melissa Foster ups her game and does it again.

Such a steamy, sweet, friends to lovers romance! I really, really liked the hero - his determination and caring nature kept me reading when the commitment-phobic heroine had me frustrated. It's a sexy (kinda dirty) slow burn, with a focus on the emotional connection, which worked well for the story. Though there were little things that bugged me along the way and it was probably too long, I enjoyed it from start to finish.
The story follows Piper and Harley, two friends who have been close for the last few years but have never crossed the line into anything more. Though Harley would love to pursue something with Piper, he knows that her brief relationship with his brother in high school (no, they didn't sleep together) changed her outlook on marriage and family. Piper was never a girlie girl, but being cheated on hardened her and created an emotional disconnect from the men she dates. It's not until Harley is injured that things begin to change between them. As Piper takes on the role of caretaker, they see new sides to each other and lines are crossed.
It's an interesting blend of sweet and dirty, with plenty of steamy scenes but also a focus on building intimacy. I loved that it was a slow burn, with Harley realizing he needs to have Piper see him in a different light from other men she's been with. Piper's not the kind of heroine I connect to easily, but my love for Harley overcame that - he is such a great guy. Initially, I thought the fact that Piper dated Harley's brother would be an issue for me, but it was not a huge part of the story and was handled well. Really, the main thing that drops this from 5 to 4 stars for me is the length. While it's technically a standalone, there are appearances from a LOT of characters from Foster's previous books, which made the story drag in spots and also makes it more difficult for new readers to connect. Fans of friends to lovers romances will like this one, with its blend of heart and steam. I received an ARC via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review of this sexy romance.
I love Piper as the leading lady in this book. She doesn’t change who she is to be with the man. She is a strong independent woman. Harley is patient and is t afraid to let a woman take some control. He really is amazing. Harley and his family really go through a lot in this book. So glad Marshall ended up not being the villain. I really hope in the future Kase and Delaney get their own books.

This was a fun easy, breezy read with witty banter and lot's of sexy romance. While this story is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone. If you are a fan of this author, you will find familiar characters from other series and it is fun to get reacquainted with characters that you love.
Harley has loved Piper since they were teenagers but he is stuck in the friend zone. He gets hurt and needs to be nurtured back to health. Who better to help him than his best friend, Piper. He is also caring for his two younger nieces while his sister is recovering from her surgery. Piper wants to help her friend, but is blindsided as he professes his feelings for her while on pain medication. She thinks it is the medication talking but Harley realizes that it is "now or never" to let Piper know how he really feels. Piper is a career-driven woman who runs a construction company. She loves her job and believes love means changing and she doesn't want to change for anyone. Harley wants to tear down the barriers around her heart and he is siezes an opportunity to convince her that the two of them are meant to be together. Piper is beginning to believe that they have a future until her past comes back to reinforce the fears that have closed up her heart. Can Piper be honest with her feelings with Harley?
I enjoyed this story, and it not only included characters from other stories, it also laid the foundation for new stories with the supporting characters, leaving you wanting for more.
She Loves Me is a friends to lovers rom-com with lots of sweetness and heat. Piper Dalton is a no nonsense kind of gal, independent and in no need to have a man in her life who will try to change her.
Harley Dutch is Piper’s best friend and desperately in need of help. After having an accident and trying to hobble around with a bum ankle while taking care of his nieces while his sister recovers from surgery, Piper pitches in to help them. Harley uses this as a perfect opportunity to try and get out of the friendzone to get her to see that they can be something more.
“I don’t want to change you. I’m willing to wait however long it takes to earn your trust, but I can’t read your mind. You have to clue me in to things sometimes, like what you feel for me. Otherwise I’m just spinning my wheels, trying to guess where your head is.”
Piper was burned badly by Harley’s brother and is basically terrified of giving her heart. She has this notion in her head that she’s not enough. Enough of a woman, enough for someone else, and other dates after have been guys wanting to change her. She’s done with it. So what if her best friend flirting with her is making her hot and bothered and making her wish for more. But Harley can be very, very persuasive.
“I want to be with you. I want to be the guy you come to see at Dutch’s each and every time. I want to go out with you as a couple, with other couples, and do more than play basketball. I want to spend time together at night doing normal things people do when they’re in a relationship, like having dinner and talking about what they want out of life. I want to go out on my boat with you, go fishing and swimming, and make love to you under the stars.”
Harley is so determined to get Piper to change her mind and I love the chase. He’s sweet and funny and caring and has been in love with her forever but Piper is so scared of messing everything up between them. I loved that he works his way into her heart but Piper is so blind and stubborn at times, you sort of want to hit her in the head and make her see what’s right in front of her. This was such a tender love story, an amazing romance with a reluctant heroine and the guy who is serious boyfriend goals. And that ending!!! Squeeee! Love it!! I can’t wait to read more in the series. It’s always great to read series with characters that carry over so I’m excited for more books in the series.
Melissa Foster has done an amazing job with the series of the Dalton children This book is the best of the lot. Piper is like a Tootsie Pop - she's hard on the outside but soft on the inside. She's one of the guys - drinking beer, eating wings, playing sports. She's not a girly girl and doesn't have any plans for marriage - all the men she's been with have tried to change her. All except Harley a grizzly bear of a man whose younger brother broke Piper's heart in High School. Harley has had feelings for Piper since then but he's opted to be a friend to keep her close.
When circumstances come together to force Piper and Harley into closer quarters things begin to change. As much as Piper tries to resist she has feelings for Harley and must choose between what she's always believed and what she is feeling now. Watching to two struggle to find a way to be together without trying to change each other is a heartwarming story.

I really enjoyed this book. Piper Dalton for years has been happy the way things are and never wants to get married. She had locked her heart away a long time ago and has no interest in Knocking down the barricade around her heart. Enter BFF Harley Dutch, he’s been protecting for Piper since he returned to Harmony Point years earlier when his father fell ill. When Harley hurts himself and get a sprained ankle, Piper is who is helping him heal. But it’s really Harleys love, support, and patience that finally knocks down Pipers high walls. I loved these two. I couldn’t wait to see them finally get together. Another great read.
I loved this book from beginning to end and won’t even attempt to mention how many times my eyes got a little teary or I broke out into a full-blown cry. I don’t remember Harley ever being mentioned in the previous books in this series, but knowing Melissa Foster, he probably was – I just didn’t catch on. However, it took no more than a few pages for me to fall head over heels for his character. Sexy, sweet, business-owner, funny, and patient to a fault all equal = yummy. Anyway, I have always loved Piper’s quirky character and figured there was a lot more to her than met the eye.
This was a 5-star read for me, without a doubt. However, there were some things that I both loved and hated at the same time. On one hand, I loved that Piper was so self-assured and held to her beliefs about relationships and love. But on the other hand, it started to get old when as the reader it was obvious that she was in love, yet she still tried to be this tough person that was immune to such feelings. The same goes with her feelings about marriage. I had nothing but respect for her not wanting to marry – for a while… But then it just got frustrating like Foster was just beating a dead horse. Upon further reflection, however, I realize that this was just another brilliant display of Foster’s characterization and that the reader truly gets to see the transformation and changes in a person that come with love – no matter how much they try to fight it.
She Loves Me isn’t all romance, of course, but packs in some other heavy topics regarding cancer, family fall-outs, cheating, addictions, and much more. But as always, everything circles around to the love of and for family and friends, as well as, romantic love that crashes into your life and changes it forever. This was absolutely wonderful and I loved it. Yay Melissa Foster for once again making my heart go pitter-patter
*Thanks to Beck Valley Books and NetGalley for providing this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
This author is one of my favourite authors of small town romance and She Loves Me is a perfect addition to the Harmony Pointe Series.
This is book 3 in the latest series from Melissa Foster and this is Harley Dutch and Piper Dalton’s story. I was captivated from the first page and there was no putting down until I had read the final word, I needed to know if this couple got the HEA they both deserved.
Dutch has an accident at work and he needs some help and his friend Piper is the obvious choice to help him get around and help his with his nieces who is looking after temporary. Dutch has harboured feelings for Piper for many years but he knew the timing was never right, could this be their time ......
Piper has been badly hurt and it’s going to take a lot for her to open up and trust a man again, will Dutch be able to break down the walls she has built around herself.....
A great story, with adorable characters and plenty of witty banter, I loved the loyalty and the friendships shared by all the characters in this series and this author has once again given us a beautifully well written romance that has left me wanting more from the residents of Harmony Pointe. Great addition to the series.
If you are a fan of friends-to-lovers in a small town setting, then She Loves Me is the perfect book for you! Piper Dalton works construction and her best friend in town is Hartley Dutch, a local bartender. Piper and Hartley have been flirting with each other for years, but never took the next step.
Piper has been hurt in the past, and she's not willing to risk her heart in a serious relationship. Hartley has had feelings for Piper forever and only wants her to see how much he cares for. When Hartley gets into an accident and hurts his ankle, Piper has to help care for him as well as his nieces.
I loved how Piper and Hartley slowly came around to each other. Their interactions were funny, sweet and sexy all at the same time. These two individuals care so much about each other, but each have their own hang ups that they have to get past.
Hartley is gruff manly man on the outside but a total teddy bear on the outside. I admired how he always wanted to take care of everyone around him. Piper is a bit more prickly, but once you find out her back story it makes more sense. But when Hartley wants more than Piper can give him, will their love be enough?
I enjoyed this sweet small town friends to lovers romance, even though parts of the book dragged for me a bit. Overall I would give She Loves Me 3.5 stars.
She Loves Me (Harmony Pointe #3) by Melissa Foster is book Three in the Harmony Pointe Series. This is the story of Harley Dutch and Piper Dalton. I have read the previous books, so that did add to my enjoyment of this one, but I did think it could be a standalone book.
Piper works with her father in the construction business so she isn't the girly girl or the homemaker type. What she does has is a soft heart that she had to protect which gives her a hard outside shell that other see. Harley has wanted Piper for more than a friend for a while but hasn't come out of the friend zone yet. When he gets hurt Piper is called to come help him. Harley runs a bar and has been helping with his nieces so he has a lot on his plate that Piper feels she has to help him now that he is hurt. This opens them up for more time together and for their feelings to start getting sorted out. Enjoyed this book and of course loved this author's writing.
Not my first read by the author, she is a top favorite one as a matter of fact. I also have read the other books in the series. I was little skeptical about this one, because it’s Piper the strong, tom-boy, self sufficient, funny and again STRONG heroine. Those tend to turn me off, sadly it did but only for a few pages, I knew the way MF writes heroines that they are the good kind of strong. So, I absolutely devoured the book after a few pages!.
I really loved them together. Their banter, easy going friendship and sizzling feeling they were both trying to deny for one another. Stolen moments is what this book is all about for me, it feels a little forbidden and new and exciting, I loved watching them dodge each other all while really wanting to explore. My heart melted with this one, when there is so much happening Piper *sigh* her big heart will make you fall in love with her from the bat and Harley, as much as a jokester he is, when he lets go…absolutely BEST BOOKBOYFRIEND. Everything about this book, and I know I’ve said this before about one of her books but this is how amazing she is…about every single book I’ve read by MF I have loved! This one is just special, beautiful, sweet, SWOONY, romantic, fun and sexy! Everything you’d want in a friends to romance book!
A MUST READ!
