Yay, my first galley review! Thank you @netgalley for this sweet children’s book! Growing up with divorced parents can pose challenges and be difficult for young children, so books like this are necessary and needed. Judith Coppens prose makes it easy to understand and the gorgeous illustrations will capture the attention of your young listeners! Pick this one up May 12, 2020!.
Divorce is difficult for young children. This sweet book describes it well, and is told lovingly about a young girl who lives at both her mother and father’s separate homes. It is told simply for a young child to understand, with beautiful illustrations. Recommended.
I needed this book when I was growing up. As a child of divorced parents, it was hard to understand what was going on. This book describes it so well and will be very helpful for children who are in this situation. My favorite part was the end where it talked about how things are different at each house but mom/dad still love her just as much!
Mila has two houses, two pets, two bed and her two parents .She enjoys the diversity of both households. She knows her parents are very different people and indirectly can understand the reason of divorce.
This is a very important book for helping children understand and become comfortable in this new situation.Highly recommended.
This is a lovely picture book that matter of factly tells the story of Mila. Mila's parents are divorced. She spends two nights with her dad, followed by two nights with her mom. Things are different at the two houses, everything from how to get there to a different toothbrush and a different way of being tucked in at bedtime. But Mila knows, and wants listeners to know, that both parents love her.
This book is a great resource that will help a young child who is experiencing a parents' divorce or separation. It can also help children to understand the lives of some of their peers.
Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest review.
