O MY GOODNESS! I can't wait to read the rest of this book.
The first four chapters of this book have me really wanting to find out what is going to happen.
I have met Samiah, she workes for a tech company and has just gone through a very public break up, that was filmed and gone viral. I've also met Daniel, a new hire in the R&D department at her job. But there is something about Daniel that tells me he isn't just a new employee in that department. I am thinking that there is something not right happening at this company and he has been hired to find out who is behind it. He is the only one, at least from what we can tell, who has not seen her video.
Up to this point in the book I am totally drawn in. I can't wait to find out why Daniel is at the company and to find out if Samiah and him become just friends or more than just friends. I love the fact that her pregnant sister, who I believe is a teacher, is the one keeping track of the views of her video.

Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to have a peak inside this book. Can't wait to read the rest.

Oh, this extended preview has me hooked! I didn't want to stop reading when it ended.

The Boyfriend Project features Samiah, who suddenly finds herself going from prepping for a fifth date to confronting the guy she'd been seeing. She lives in Austin, is close with her pregnant sister, and works for an IT company.

I really like the way Rochon writes dialogue, and how realistic her characters feel. I also feel a budding workplace romance coming on? And love that!

So far, The Boyfriend Project seems fairly feminist with a touch of "girl power" without being over the top or feeling fake - also something I love.

I'm eager to read more!

Based on this preview I am sure I'd love this book. Samiah's struggle with dating and how no one takes a successful woman seriously without a man by their side really hit home, This also seems like it'd be a fun and light read, which during these times is very much needed. The preview left off with her meeting a potential love interest, I can't wait for the book to come out to finish the rest. I'm rating 4 stars because I'd have to finish the book to be sure my initial impression was right.

I feel like if a book’s first chapter mentions both Drake and Fenty Beauty, it’s sure to be a good sign. Well, I definitely wasn’t let down.

I can honestly say that the first few chapters of this book definitely have me intrigued. The unlikely circumstances under which Samiah, London and Taylor met had me giggling like no other and dirty Craig got what he deserved. I only ever found myself tuning out once or twice but that was because I was too busy imagining what dishes would go best with the volcano roll I’m going to be ordering on Uber eats for lunch tomorrow. Daniel’s definitely gotten my attention as well and ending the preview when things just got juicy definitely had me wanting more. Ah, I love a good workplace romance.

All in all, a great first impression. I’m excited to read Samiah’s story and can’t wait to see what comes next!

I rated this preview 3 stars because I enjoyed the premise. But once I read the entire novel I could see my review changing to 4stars. There seemed to be a bit too much background information. Its a preview so maybe thats why the balance seems off. Looking for more interactions between characters. It's a good start so I am still looking forward to this book

Based on the extended preview that I have read, I’m not sure what I think about this book. It seems like it has a lot of potential, and I was curious to learn more about Daniel. However, I was finding myself a little bored while reading it. It might get better though, I’ll have to read the full book to find out!

This book has “THAT COVER” to draw you to the book, but it is the story that keeps you turning the pages.

This moves up the list of must haves. I enjoyed how the author compiles a story where 3 women form a bond after being duped by a dating fiasco.

Don’t just stop at the cover, this treasure has the potential to offer a funny tale with sexiness, romance and touch of mystery.

Loved this book in it's entirety. I was approved for the full eARC. Thank you Read Forever Publising.

I’ve come to learn that I really enjoy a good rom-com with strong willed characters and a little steaminess. In fact, I like the steam factor turned all the way up and I got a little bit of that in this read! Thank you to @readforeverpub and @netgalley for the gifted eARC of The Boyfriend Project by Farrah Rochon, set to be released June 2020!! ✨I loved that Samiyah was in the tech field, and I love her take on representation within her industry. She held true to her goal of setting the right example and paving the way for those to come after her. Another strong black woman character that wasn’t afraid to go out and kill it and maybe even get her some while she’s at it (😏💁🏾‍♀️😎)! With her new girlfriends by herside and possibly even a new love interest, we’re taken on Samiyah’s journey to invest in herself! I would definitely add this book to your TBR!

I have had this book on my TBR for a few months now and am even going to use to for my Pop Sugar challenge. I was excited to see it as a preview on here. After reading the preview, I am looking forward to reading it even more. I think I am going to love Samiah! I also like the social media’s aspect of this book. After reading The Right Swipe and Tweet Cute, I am on the hunt for more social media/romance books.

After a video of Samiah Brook's heroically dumping her THREE-timing boyfriend goes viral, she swears off men for six months to focus on herself. Cue Daniel Collins, the new hot guy at work! Sparks fly as their attraction grows more and more difficult to deny. What Samiah doesn't know is that there's more to Daniel than she realizes. You'll enjoy the front row seat as their friendship grows into something (way) more. This is a fun rom com that highlights strong, independent women of color. Loved it!

Wow! I’m definitely intrigued so far! I’m really enjoying the writing style, and Samiah is a super strong and relatable character, I already love her! I also definitely loved that the three girls didn’t turn on each other at all, but only the jerk stringing them a long. And I can’t wait to get to know Daniel more! My only problem so far was that to me, Samiah figured out it was Craig on the date from twitter way too fast. That or she needs to have a very specific reason for being so suspicious so quickly. Other than that, I loved it and can’t wait to read more!

A book centered around a cheater that results in women getting revenge by bettering themselves and their careers? Yes PLEASE. Samiah is the perfect mixture and spicy and sweet. I cannot wait to dive into the rest of this rom-com!

Thank you Forever Romance for giving me a glimpse into this novel!

I was obsessed with John Tucker Must Die when it came out, so I absolutely loved the opening scene. However, I wasn't able to get much of a sense of Daniel from the preview and he seems very mysterious right now. Can't wait to read the rest.

Wow! I totally want to read more after reading the extended preview! I also have never read a book written by Farrah Rochen, but I will definitely be reading more of her work!

Three women find out that they are all dating the same man! They all kick him to the curb and decide to swear off men for 6 months so they can achieve their professional goals!
I can’t wait to read more of this book!

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advanced digital copy of this book!

The preview I read from this book left me wanting more!!

It got off to a great start! I loved the girl power and female empowerment among the three girls who realized they were being played by the same guy. I loved how the girls banded together and stood up for each other rather than blaming each other (at last a book that reflects being a feminist woman in 2020)!

Another thing that struck a positive chord with me was the diversity. All the main characters and POC. The h, and the two other women she meets as a result of being played, are all successful WOC and I couldn't be more here for it!!! The H is also a POC and, from what I read, he seems smart and sensible! I'm excited to read the rest of this and get my hands on a finished copy!!!

This extended preview is lovely. We're introduced to the Samiah, who has just gone viral for yelling at a three-timing con of a boyfriend (plus side: She met two great friends this way.). We also meet Daniel, who's just started at Samiah's company, is drop dead gorgeous, and might be up to something. The preview ends just after their meet cute which is also lovely. There's coffee and emotional awareness.

The characters are vivid and I"m super glad I'll be able to dive right into the full length book.

Farrah Rochon has given us a dynamic love story complete with complex characters, an engaging premise and enough heat to keep the pages turning. We can appreciate the challenges heroine Samiah Brooks must face after a very public breakup as she solidifies her skills in the tech industry. We also want to pull for hero Daniel Collins despite the secrets that could break their relationship. This story had great depth and I look forward to reading more from this talented author.
