This preview did exactly what it was supposed to, and I no sooner finished it then immediately went to get a copy of the complete novel. I'm intrigued by what amounts to a friendship meet cute, and already feel committed to reading a series with a book for each of the three friends (fingers crossed.)

I'm not sure why Farrah Rochon decided to send an excerpt to this book because now the Boyfriend Project is all I'll be dreaming of. She just left me hanging!

The book is amazing! I hated that it was so short and I sincerely look forward to seeing the book itself.

You've got a good storyline,a relatable story, cool girlfriends, the work enemy. A new hot guy to daydream about... You've got everything. The characters are already interesting and the book is not even finished!

You have just got to read the book, Andi really can't wait to see the complete version. Please don't keep us hanging!

Wow. Okay. Now I really need to read this entire book. This was an incredibly long preview and all it did was make me beg for the full story. I will definitely be picking this up. I love the representation, the modern feel and references to things we know and also the start of the relationship. I think this story has a lot of fun potential and it was definitely entertaining so far!

Thanks Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read the extended previous of "The Boyfriend Project." Based on what I've read so far, I look forward to reading the book entirely. I love a little romance and friendships along the way.

What a fun, multilayered book! It is a story about friendship among women. It's a romance. It is a thoroughly modern story about strong women rising above the constraints society tries to box them in due to race and gender. And there's a bit of mystery too! Samiah, Taylor and London are fantastic characters and I am looking forward to all their stories. Daniel was also very likable and added another interesting layer with the mystery component. This book has so many good elements and they all build up a great, relatable, story.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wish this was the entire book so that I could give a good review. Not allowing people to read the entire book but expecting a good review is not a smart practice. Please consider allowing the entire book to be read.

Three women meet under unusual circumstances, after the same guy attempts to date them at the same time.  I loved how this story started out.  It introduces strong, female characters who bond over this debacle, and come out the other side. While the preview mostly follows Samiah, a bold and career-driven woman who has found her place in the tech world, I am eager to find out more about the other two, Taylor and London.  I cannot wait to read the rest of this story!  Thank you to Netgalley and Forever (Grand Central Publishing) for this preview of The Boyfriend Project.

The Boyfriend Project is a breath of fresh air and an opportunity to gain some insight into what black women (and other women of color) experience in the professional workspace. While there is an element of romance in the book (and I thoroughly enjoyed that aspect), my biggest takeaway from the experience is the glimpse I got of the burden and responsibility women like Samiah feel and that is invaluable in the climate that we're in as a society right now. I also enjoyed the emphasis on platonic female relationships, work/life balance, and the different definitions of success. If you enjoyed Lauren Layne's Central Park Pact series, I highly recommend The Boyfriend Project and I hope that Farrah Rochon plans on making it a trilogy as well because I really want Taylor and London's stories as well! 4 out of 5 wine glasses.

🎉Happy Pub Day🎉 and ☆☆Book Review☆☆ The Boyfriend Project by Farrah Rochon

Thank you @librofm for the audiobook because the narrator Je Nie Fleming did a fabulous job! I loved how she brought this story to life for me.
.
Samiah meets two other women that have been dating the same guy she has, thanks to Twitter, and they make a pact to spend the next six months working toward their personal goals without men. Along comes Daniel. The hot new guy in Samiah's workplace that she can't stop thinking about.
.
I loved the friendship that developed between Samiah, London, and Taylor. That added an interesting depth to the story and hopefully laid the groundwork for future books. Daniel was fascinating because he had an unusual secret for this genre, and that was so much fun to see how that played out. Samiah is very goal-oriented and it was interesting to see how she handled and overcame life's curveballs. This isn't your typical romantic comedy and the additional layers make this book one you won't want to miss!

This is such a cute idea- love the spy novel romance feel! Being a Texan, I live that this is set in Austen and the high tech field. I love to see smart women!

From what I was able to read this should be an interesting contemporary romance novel. I was able to see the two love interest and the fact that they work together always is interesting. They both seem to be opposed to dating anybody at the current moment but those are always the times when you find someone you're meant to. I would like to read the rest of this book when it does come out.

“Alexa, play Drake.”⁣

So many reasons to love this book!⁣
1. Samiah is a bad ass, feisty, brilliant boss babe and she’s nothing short of an inspiration and role model from the first page. ⁣
2. Daniel is also a brilliant, sexy, kind man who appreciates a strong woman, and isn’t intimated by a brilliant woman in the least. ⁣
3. The strong female friendship between Samiah, London and Taylor is so amazing for so many reasons. They are all successful women, who continue to uplift each other throughout this story, and the way they became friends just made me so happy, because typically that scenario would’ve gone a completely different way.⁣

This book made be laugh out loud at times, it was steamy, witty, and of course I enjoyed all of the flirty banter between Samiah and Daniel. Taylor was hilarious. I love rational characters and characters who understand and push each other to be their best selves and this book was filled with that. ⁣

The first scene in this book was AMAZING! Samiah and her sister also have a great relationship, but Samiah slays from the first chapter and it made this book unputdownable. I’m so hoping for a second book.⁣

Thank you to @netgalley @readforeverpub and @grandcentralpub for an ARC for my honest review. 💕⁣

The extended sample of The Boyfriend Project shows a lot of promise.
The story draws the reader in from the opening pages when the hilarious date gone wrong unfolds in real-time online and makes three women realize they're dating the same man.
In the first four chapters the book talks about issues like gender inequality in the workplace and societal pressure, while offering a fast-moving and fun plot.
The preview leaves you wanting more of what's to come with the girls and with Daniel, the new guy at Samiah's office.
I'm excited to read more of this romantic comedy from Farrah Rochan!

The extended preview left me wanting more about this book. I want to know the friendship development with the other 2 ladies from the catfish and also what happens between Samiah and Daniel. I will be purchasing this to see the outcome. This is the first time I've ever heard of the author, but after the preview, I'm a fan.

I feel so lucky that I was able to read this extended preview of The Boyfriend Project! I love the style of writing and the chapters I saw were very well-paced. I laughed aloud at times, especially when Craig had to face all three of the women at once. I’m intrigued by Daniel’s analytical style of thinking and very curious to see further interactions between Samiah and Daniel! Samiah is clearly a boss, one of my favorite kinds of heroines. She strikes me as smart and fierce. I loved how she took the opportunity to foster connection between the two other women who were also being catfished. I will definitely have to pick this book up on June 9 to see what happens next! Thank you to Farrah Rochon, Grand Central Publishing, and Netgalley for the opportunity to access this preview of The Boyfriend Project in exchange for an honest review.

To be honest this book wasn't my cup of tea. I thought it was going to be a little more in depth about the whole cheating scandal with Craig, but the author jumped right into it.

These were such interesting first few chapters.
At the beginning it reminded me of the Central Park Pact series by Lauren Layne which I loved, but then it took its own turn which I was even more happy about.
There is also a sort of mystery about the male protagonist from what I could grab, So I am really curious were that will lead to.
Really enjoyable read with a funny and charming protagonist that knows how to take care of herself.
I will definitely pick this up when it comes out.

I gave this book 4 stars, I enjoyed reading it. Loved that Samiah was strong independent woman of color and believed in herself, really uplifting! I could feel Samiah and Daniels chemistry beyond the text, steamy is an understatement! This is my first book I've read from Farrah Rochon and it won't be my last!
