Mom Genes, a follow up to Hilary Grossman's Go On, Girl is a fun book with just enough humor injected in the writing to keep it flowing quickly. Forest River PTA and the moms are at it again with more than their share of drama and gossip. Claire Conroy is newly single and it appears that her love life is the topic that everyone wants to weigh in on.

Several characters in the book are interesting and while all of the moms want only the best for their children sometimes the way that they go about it is a little bit extreme. Characters I loved included Claire who is just trying to figure out how to adjust to life as a single mom looking for a new love as well as her mom Grandma Gigi who simply says what she thinks.

If you are looking for a quick fun read this might be the book for you. You do not have to read the original book Go On, Girl to understand the story of Mom Genes. Life is messy. PTA moms can be mean and love is not always easy to find but author Hilary Grossman has made this story into a fun book to read. Thanks to NetGalley for a free copy for review.

I want to start this out by saying that I wasn't even aware that this is a follow-up book to the author's first book in her Forest River series. I had no trouble keeping up, so I think it does well as a standalone. I found it to be wonderful! Funny, endearing and oh so relatable. I remember these school days filled with PTA meetings of parental politics. Backstabbing, gossip and rumors - I definitely don't miss those. You have to admire Claire for not letting it get to her. She's dealing with an awful soon-to-be ex, job hunting and getting back into the dating pool. I remember her struggles with a laugh and totally sympathized with her.

What a excellent cast of well developed characters. I loved her family, from her supportive mom and her wonderful brother Jake to her hysterical grandmother Gigi. This was such an enjoyable book and I was sucked in from the very beginning. From the very start I stopped everything and curled up with a cup of coffee and this book and read it from early morning and just now finished it at almost 12:30 at night. I definitely recommend this read!

I would like to thank the author, publisher, and Netgalley for the opportunity to read this book and exchange for a fair and honest review.

This was such a great book. IT was such a quick read. I couldn’t put it down. The characters were so relatable, especially as a mom, I felt like I was drinking wine with my besties. There were so many emotions throughout the book, There were times you laughed with Claire and times you felt for her,. Her family was hilarious. Such a good laugh out out book! I highly recommend,
