This was a average read in my opinion. Some of it was useful but a bit mixed. I think the style of writing wasn't my favourite.

Whatever You Do, Be Happy is a self-help book that will give you 400 creative and simple ways to stay happy. They are shortly explained and motivated. When I read it, I was kind of overwhelmed by how simple it is to stay positive and people should think about it more than just look for something that is going wrong in their lives. I'm not the biggest fan of books like this one, because I get bored very fast and read one book in a year or two. However, I think that it shouldn't be a problem with this one. Every time you feel down, you can open this book and find a way to stay happy.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The cover is simple and gets the job done. The colors are eye-catching for sure.

Solid fun read.

I'll definitely be looking out for other work by this author.

Whatever You Do, Be Happy by Julia Dellitt is filled with little ways/ ideas to cheer yourself up. Most of the ideas are very simple yet effective. It is such a positive and happy book! It is not easy to come up with hundreds of ways to make yourself happy and this author has done a wonderful job! Will make a very good gift to someone who is going through hard times.

I was provided with a complimentary copy of this book so I could give an honest review. The opinions are entirely my own, and any quotes are taken from the ARC and may be different in the final published copy.

Julia Dellitt's Whatever You Do, Be Happy: 400 Things to Think & Do for a Happy Life is the perfect book for 2020.

I think everyone can agree that 2020 is an incredibly stressful year chock full of negative thoughts. Scrolling through any social media exasperates one's anxiety. This book will lessen your stress.

It is not a book to read in one sitting. Rather, it includes 400 activities, ideas, tips, and quotes to help calm you and relieve your stress.

Not every item was something I was interested in, but you do not need to do all of the activities. They act as a guide or suggestion and doing some made 2020 start to seem manageable.

My favorite activity was to list three things for which you are thankful. It was similar to an assignment I did for a Positive Psychology class. I forgot how reminding yourself of something good that happened to you or how you are grateful for can drastically improve your state of mind.

Dellitt's other works are Get Your Life Together(ish): A No-Pressure Guide for Real-Life Self-Growth and Self-Care for College Students: From Orientation to Graduation, 150+ Easy Ways to Stay Happy, Healthy, and Stress-Free.

WHATEVER YOU DO, BE HAPPY by Julia Dellitt suggests "400 Things to Think & Do for a Happy Life." This could be a fun book to give as a graduation gift or even to give to anyone who is feeling a bit down due to being confined during the pandemic. Its bright, sunny cover reflects the upbeat tone within. Each of the simple, manageable activities is written in bold and followed by a few sentences to help motivate the reader. Many of the ideas are ones which we probably already know (go for a walk or reduce clutter), but it's still nice to have them grouped together and 400 works out to trying at least one a day for a full year. Looking for a few examples? How about playing some happy music, complimenting a stranger, or rolling your shoulders? Dellitt also mentions getting enough sleep and visiting the library. She includes many quotes that deal with happiness and offers somewhat longer profiles for tasks like building confidence with body language or turning off your phone. Unfortunately, there are few images, but we could find some and may look to these ideas as inspiration for displays at school, too. Have fun with WHATEVER YOU DO, BE HAPPY and remember to smile (and laugh)!

Thank you to @netgalley and @adamsmedia for an Advanced Reader's Copy in exchange for an honest review.

I love books that inspire joy, better mental health, and steps towards general self-improvements for a happy life. I live for the little moments, and right now, with so many sheltered-in-place at home, I thought this would be the perfect book to read for discovering new ideas for sparking joyful moments in the day.

The book seems better suited to a series of blog or instagram posts, but I found it to be a quick read with some simple and easy-to-implement ideas for a happier, healthier life. I didn't discover anything groundbreaking here, but it was the perfect reminder of embracing the little things (especially) while here at home.

3.5 stars. The book includes a variety of ideas for increasing your happiness - things to eat or drink, physical and mental activities, creative tasks, and suggestions for personal interactions. Some of the things I felt were a little repetitive or fairly obvious, but there were good suggestions. I especially enjoyed the quotes about happiness sprinkled throughout the book. There is also a helpful index so you can more easily find specific topics or quoted individuals.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Whatever You Do, Be Happy by Julia Dellitt was sitting on my shelf of "To Be Read" books and then the world was brought to its knees by the COVID-19 pandemic. After nearly 3 weeks filled with moments of high anxiety, negative thinking and isolation, I opened this gem of a book up and couldn't have been more pleased with what I found inside. The author provides a plethora of suggestions on easy to do tips to improve ones mood. Although you might have been familiar with many of them, they often go forgotten and a gentle nudge that this book provides may be all you need to release some serotonin. The suggestions are mostly quick and easy ang guess what? They work!! I like opening to a random page and picking a suggestion on that page to try. This is great coffee table book and would make a great hostess gift as well. Now, if you'll excuse me I'm going to pour a drink in a fancy glass and send a friend a "your awesome" text.. Many thanks to Adams Media and Netgally for the opportunity to review this ARC for an honest review.

Here’s a sunny-looking book of happiness. The subtitle is “400 things to Think & Do for a Happy Life” and the author encourages us to try a variety of mood-boosters. We can look for happiness no matter where we are. Simply reading this positive and uplifting book will help fill your happiness tank. You may not want to read this book all at once, it’s fun to browse and choose a few ideas each day. Keep this book on your nightstand!

The book presents short topics such as health and mindfulness, but the most fun for me was to browse the short paragraphs and look for good ideas. Here’s what appealed to me;
Be a little Full of Yourself- Confidence Matters
Write your own Elevator Pitch
Watch a Cartoon
Read comics or graphic novels- especially if this is something new for you
Play with a Magnetic Poetry Set
Style a Shelf
Master a New Skill
Wear Pajamas during the day. This is akin to the old-fashioned idea of “changing in to your play clothes.”

As you can see, very little expense is needed to make a happy life. A guide like this helps us to see what is possible. Wouldn’t this book make a nice gift?

I received an advance review copy from NetGalley and Adams Media. This is my honest review.

This book couldn't have come at a better time! With the world in a pandemic with the coronavirus, this book reminded me how important it is to think positive, to live happy and make time for yourself.
This book is crammed with inspirational quotes and suggestions on things to do to make life a happier time. Many of the ideas are simple things that we sometimes forget to do. A great book that I will refer back to at times too.

I happened to be reading this book during a time when I got some tough news. And was feeling a little down. This book could not have presented itself at a better time. My favorite coping mechanism was to set the timer when in a bad or negative situation so that you let it go when the timer goes off. You allow yourself to vent. And then just let it go. There’s so many amazing ideas and things. This is a must read!! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

While I read this start to finish like I typically do, I think this particular book would be a great one to set on your coffee table to open up randomly as needed! Reminders of tangible things we can do to be happier is never a bad thing. Thanks to Adams Media for early access to this uplifting book!
