Action-Packed present and past collide in this suspenseful, read rich in backstory.
Rae Burke is an investigative journalist, on the search for her sister-in-law who has suddenly gone missing. In order to do that she goes to the one man who has the skills to help her find Zoe. Rae is the last person that Liam McKade wants to help after his cover was blown protecting her the last time, but he takes the job. As the plot unfolds did Rae and Liam, realize that the danger might be more than they even imagined.
Engaging and fast paced this book keeps you hanging on, not wanting to put it down as the story progresses and more secrets are revealed. Rae and Liam make a great team. Liam is very serious about his job, he is skilled at what he does and yet he is struggling to decide what to pursue next. Rae is daring, and wants to do whatever she can to bring Zoe home to her brother and young niece. Rae has a passion for bring the truth to light, but her impulsive nature can get her in trouble sometimes.
There is a lot going on in this book, interweaving the past with the present, bringing the tension of current suspense as well how the secrets of the past impact what is going on in the present in Rae and Liam's relationship. I liked how Liam and Rae are a great team, and though they can be opposites they compliment each other better than you'd think at first glance. The action was tight, but there was also time for great character development and relationship growth.
Overall a fantastically thrilling read from beginning to end, this book works well as a stand alone, as well as a companion part of the series. I like how the heavier backstory was well woven throughout the story, so it didn't ever feel like information dumping, and I was always eager to find out more. There are strong theme of faith, family and forgiveness throughout. This book sealed the deal for me, I'm a huge fan of this author and can't wait to see what she has coming out next!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
A thrilling story involving an investigative reporter, Rae and an ex DEA agent, Liam and Race's missing sister in law. Rae and Liam have a past that went awry during a mission. Back together searching for her sister in law they stumble across something larger than they thought. It involves people involved in human trafficking and drugs leading back to the previous case. Lots of danger to be found. Also some buried feelings between Rae and Liam resurface but can they put it on hold until the case is over or will they go separate ways like the last time. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
This is a fast moving quick book to read, easily caught up in the characters lives. I enjoyed following the plot with unexpected outcomes. A reminder of God's faithfulness.
A history that goes back five years - whether it be the stalker, the roommate, or the romances - provides the backdrop to a story that does not stop. The prologue begins with an escape from a secluded mountain cabin and ends with an abduction to the same cabin. An abduction from which Rae had to escape.
Elizabeth Goddard presents us with a well-written faith-based, romantic, suspense, thriller. This reader was moved to feel for the characters as he read. The Rocky Mountains, just outside Yellowstone National Park, provide a scenic winter backdrop for this adventurous story with skiing, helicopter rides, and rugged snowmobile rides. The reader could ask for little more - unless it would be more stories featuring Rea and Liam. Liam still has to determine his future and this reader would like to see Zoey’s knowledge lead to more convictions and adventure.
Though the book is faith-based, some will find the faith content lacking. But for most who enjoy faith-based, romantic, suspense, stories, the book will be satisfying.

Rae Burke has spent her life investigating stories trying to follow in her father’s footsteps as an investigative reporter. When she hears her sister-in-law is missing, she does whatever she can to track her down and get to the bottom of her story. In order to find her sister-in-law, she must ask for help from the one man who took a bullet for her. Liam McKade left the DEA after his cover was blown when he saved Rae when her story got her in with the wrong people. Liam has gone to his family ranch in Wyoming to figure out what his next step is going to be. Rae finds Liam and fills him in on what she needs. He reluctantly agrees to help her in this search for her sister-in-law. The more time they spend together, the more danger they find themselves in, and the harder it is for them to keep their feelings for each other hidden.
After being introduced to Liam McKade earlier in the series, I was intrigued and wanted to learn more about him and see his story unfold. My desire was answered! Don’t Keep Silent gives readers a deep dive into his past and his heart for helping others. Even though he took a bullet for Rae and thinks he never wants to see her again, the moment he lays eyes on her he knows he will do whatever he can to help her. She infuriates him with every step of the investigation as she puts her life at risk time and time again in her search for the truth. The back and forth dialogue between the two of them makes the story flow so well. Rae hires him to protect her but makes that job almost impossible with each step they take as she puts herself in danger to try and find her sister-in-law and figure out how everything ties in together. For me, there could have been a little more suspense built up at a few key points; right when the tension was at its highest things seemed to fizzle out. The romance was very subtle throughout until the end where it went to warp speed. That’s the problem with some romantic suspense novels, a slow build and then the end goes light sped where it’s not believable. At least Rae and Liam had past history and it wasn’t just straight to love and marriage after they first met. While the ending was a little rushed, the whole story was enjoyable and a fun easy read. My only problem was I didn’t have enough time to sit and read it all at once. Fans of Gooddard’s novels and those that enjoy romantic suspense will not want to miss this one.
I received a complimentary copy of this title from the publisher. The views and opinions expressed within are my own.
Don't Keep Silent is the third book in a series, but read well without having read the others. Elizabeth Goddard's vivid descriptions help plant the reader in the Jackson Hole, Wyoming area. The characters were fun to spend the day with.
On the downside, I felt this novel was predictable. There was one loose end I wanted to see tied up, although the author must have put it in as a red herring. Usually, my mind doesn't wander while reading suspense novels however, I paused the book mid-chapter to wander through social media several times. Overall, it was a good afternoon away from reality. 3.5 out of 5 rounded up.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell via NetGalley and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.

Story Notes
Elizabeth Goddard brings her readers the final story in the Uncommon Justice series that has some good writing and suspense but also lacks a bit of the punch of the first two books.
Suspense writing, especially in a series has to carry not only a good story but have plenty of action too. This series, thus far has been pretty good but I just felt that this one wasn’t as suspenseful and mysterious as the first two. I did, however, like it well enough to read it all the way to the end with little stopping. This book begins a few months after the last one with the disappearance of Rae Burke’s sister-in-law, Zoey. She is happily married to Rae’s brother Alan and they have a sweet little girl who is on the Autism spectrum and is the light of Zoey’s life. So why did Zoey leave without word to anyone? Or was she taken for some reason? Rae recalls that there was some trouble for Zoey during their college days but she didn’t ask about it then because Zoey didn’t seem to want to talk about it. But Alan has asked Rae to do what he can’t and search for Zoey. Rae’s last investigative story almost got her and a DEA agent killed but she can’t ignore her brother’s pleas, even if it means seeking out Liam McKade and begging him to forgive and help her. Liam has recovered rather well after being shot and almost dying but he’s still not ready to forget what Rae did. Not only did she lie to him but her lies also caused his injury and blew his undercover role in a major drug case. He has since left the DEA and has been offered a couple jobs but hasn’t settled on which one will be the best fit for his future. When Rae shows up looking for help with finding Zoey, Liam has to face his past hurts and decide if he will let them go or lose his chance with Rae forever. While he considers forgiveness, Liam does agree to help look for Zoey. To find Zoey before it’s too late, they will have to sort through all the clues and fight against both the winter elements and someone who will do anything to keep their secrets hidden. Can they also find a way to move beyond the pain of the past and find a future together? To make that happen, both of them will have to learn what true forgiveness and love look like and how to let both into their lives. The plot lines of the story were pretty good and easy to follow. I just wish everything had flowed a bit faster and had a little more umph like the first two books. I don’t know if it was the longer conversations or just the scattered feeling I got trying to keep everything straight. I’ve heard it said on a couple of book seller sites that this can be a stand alone story but I don’t think that’s really possible. You really need to know the history of the others in the story to have a complete understanding of the main characters and their conflict. I did like that the book was based in the Grand Teton National Park, one of my favorite vacation places I’ve been. I could see all the places they were talking about in my mind as they went to each of them so that was a nice inclusion. So, in spite of the somewhat slower action and flow of plot, I will still be recommending this book, more for the series than this story, to others who enjoy suspense-styled, clean books. Looking forward to the next from Ms. Goddard and hopeful that I will enjoy that story better.
I received this temporary complimentary E-book from Revell Publishing via NetGalley in order to provide a fair and honest review. I will receive no fiscal compensation for this review and the opinions expressed herein are entirely my own.
Wonderful page-turning romantic suspense!!! I loved Liam and Rae's story, it kept me guessing, and turning pages until the wee hours of the morning! I honestly had no idea who to trust.
This story is about two headstrong people who met before when working on another case when Liam blew his cover to save Rae's life. They find themselves in another nightmarish situation. Can he trust her after what happened last time? Beautiful rugged countryside and danger at every turn. You won't want to miss "Don't Keep Silent" by Elizabeth Goddard.
Great series! I read all three of them in one week!
I think this series really went out with a bang for book 3! For me, each on got better and better. Rae is a tenacious investigative reporter who will stop at nothing to find her missing college roommate. Liam is a former DEA agent who doesn’t know where exactly he belongs. He fell in love with her, but she blew his cover on his last assignment. Now, they’re no longer speaking, but she needs his help to find her sister in law.
Set around the Grand Teton National Park, the scenery of the story is breathtaking, even if you can’t see it. With the many characters and interlocking story lines, you’ll be wondering who the bad guy is until the very end. This was definitely a “heart stopper” read for me, as I found myself anxious and blowing through pages to see what would happen next. Be sure to read all three books for the best grasp on this story.
I was given an early copy of this manuscript through NetGalley for my honest review. I also purchased the audiobook via Audible. All opinions expressed are my own.
3.5 stars
This was another fast paced, adventure filled book. I was really sucked in during the prologue - it was captivating.
I really like Liam. He is the strong over protective type who is always there when people need him. But in this book he was doing too much and it seemed too unrealistic. But I still liked him and how he was there for Rae.
Rae is an investigative journalist so she pretty much will do anything for a story. I really liked her tenacity even if it did tend to get her into trouble.
I think I've watched too much TV in this genre because I had figured out parts of the suspense, but it was still fun to read and watch Liam and Rae catch on.
I would recommend this book to fans of Dani Pettrey and Lynette Eason. It is a nice combination of suspense with just a little romance.
I received an advanced copy of this book through NetGalley. This is my honest review.
I've read all of the books in the Uncommon Justice series and as soon as I start one of her books I'm immediately immersed in the plot. The plot always captures my attention with it's detail and how it makes me feel as though I'm witnessing all that's going on.
From the beginning with the desolation and the snow and frigid cold to the hunt for the missing people you will be on the edge of your seat as you quickly turn page after page til you get to the wonderful finish .
This is part of a series but can easily be read as a stand alone but do yourself a favor and read the whole enjoyable series. It's the romantic suspense series you'll be telling your friends to read.
I highly recommend it and am looking forward to whatever the author comes out with next.

Each story I read by author Elizabeth Goddard is amazing. From the first page, I was drawn in by descriptions that made me feel as if I was the character in the story. From the ice cold temperatures to the wet snow to the fear and mystery involved, this is a read that kept my eyes wide open and my heart racing. The author weaves faith, love and suspense into a fantastic read. Great story. I received a complimentary copy of the book. No review was required.
From the first paragraph until the last, I felt as though I was riding a rollercoaster blindfolded, always moving forward without any indication of direction or speed. Don't Keep Silent is, perhaps, the best suspense novel I have ever read. The plot was complex but this author dispensed information to the reader in a timely and logical manner. Following her breadcrumbs (clues) was both exhilarating and entertaining. I loved her characters; Liam and Rae were brought to life on the pages, lovingly created with such detail that in my mind became real persons. Elizabeth Goddard is a gifted writer that wields her words with power and passion. When all the clues were provided, this author took the glut of information and delivered an exceptional conclusion, including an HEA ending.
This novel is the perfect read for an adrenaline junkie!
This is Book 3 in the Uncommon Justice series, and while some of the characters appear in previous books, it is not necessary to read the other books, as they can function as standalone. I had read book 2, Always Look Twice, so I was acquainted with some of the characters, but again, it isn’t necessary.
I thought this book had a lot more drama and tension than the previous book. There was a lot packed into this thriller. Shadow organizations, drug and human trafficking, money laundering, abductions, and murder.
Rae Burke is an investigative reporter, but her last story nearly got her killed. Now her sister-in-law and former college roommate, Zoey, is missing, and Rae’s brother, Alan, begs Rae to look for Zoey. Rae involves Liam, the former DEA agent she met on her last story, to help her find Zoey. There is a lot of danger and tension as Liam and Rae search for clues. There is also romance brewing between them. Also, the characters turn to God asking for help in situations.
I enjoyed this story and the characters.
Thanks to Elizabeth Goddard and NetGalley for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Don't Keep Silent is a wow-I-did-not-see-that-coming kind of book. Never having read any of Elizabeth Goddard's books before, I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I will be looking for more of her stories. Even though Don't Keep Silent is the third and final book in the Uncommon Justice series, it is well-read as a stand-alone story. The author fills in enough of the backstories of the characters which keeps the reader from having lots of questions about what has gone on before in their lives. The characters are colorful and riveting, as well as realistic and either likable, relatable, or despicable. Rae and Liam had been involved in circumstances previously, and things did not end well. I enjoyed watching their relationship begin again and evolve into more than colleagues looking for a missing person. The book's setting brings out the beautiful imagery of the winter ski resort area of the mountains of Wyoming. The dialogue flowed seamlessly without sounding forced, and most of the book, with its non-stop action, was unpredictable. I like how the author revealed things layer by layer, keeping me wondering how scenarios were ever going to work out. Readers who love exciting, heart-stopping mysteries will not want to miss Don't Keep Silent. It keeps you eagerly reading until the very last page.
I was given a complimentary copy of the book from the publisher and was not required to write a review. The opinions are my own.
Elizabeth Goddard rounds out her Uncommon Justice series with Don’t Keep Silent, an engaging story about a former undercover agent and an investigative journalist.
While this is the third installment of the series, you can read it if you haven’t read the other two. I’ve read Never Let Go but haven’t gotten my hands on Always Look Twice. I could still follow the story, though, and Don’t Keep Silent works great as a standalone.
Liam is a great and strong hero, and I love his protective streak. Rae is equally strong, and I love her dedication to her family. Together they make a great team. I also love Liam and Rae’s chemistry, as well as the way Goddard wove their backstory throughout the novel.
This book is hard to put down! The mystery has a lot of twists and turns, and I stayed up late trying to figure out who the bad guys were. Goddard draws the reader into the mystery from the beginning. She does a great job of spreading the clues out throughout the story to keep you engaged. I never saw the ending coming, but once the clues began to come together, it all made sense. I love when a story ends with no loose ends.
Okay, let’s face it. I just love this book period. Don’t Keep Silent is an excellently-written suspense with a great romantic element.
(Note: I received a complimentary copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.)
This book kept me on the edge of my seat. I did not want to put this book down. I loved the bits of romance and love the suspense. The characters were fantastic. Rae and Liam have to get over what happened to them in the past so that they can work together and find Rae’s missing sister-in-law. I loved the twists and turns throughout. I loved some of the descriptions of the area. I received a copy of this book from the author for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
Loved this intensely suspenseful and action packed adventure wrapped between the pages of a book!
“Her father had told her it was his responsibility to speak up. “Don’t keep silent,”
Reagan has taken his words to heart trying to right the world of evil. However, she just seems to find trouble, or maybe trouble just finds her. Determined to speak for those who can’t speak and for those whose stories go untold, she longs to bring truth and justice to the world. However, she never expects danger to land on her doorstep when her sister-in-law disappears. Searching for the truth, Rae won’t stop until she finds answers. I absolutely loved this third book in the Uncommon Justice series. The McKade brothers all show up for brief glimpses, but this book centers around Liam. The intrigue, suspense and romance read like a rollercoaster ride with masked danger at every turn for this couple. As the thread of criminal activity unfolds, the past and present steamrolls into riveting and chilling suspense. Through it all, the tenacity of this couple drew my heart. There is a heavy theme that is tough to watch play out, but it is handled so well. Seeing glimpses of the McKade family brought happy closure to the series and brought out Liam’s past and present. I loved his character and a lot of questions are answered from his background with the DEA. Raegan’s character was full of grit and determination that I found refreshing.
“This is what I would call an extreme stakeout. But given DEA agent/cowboy Liam McKade, she shouldn’t expect anything less.”
The sparks really fly between these two as they wear their hearts on the edge of their sleeves. The snarky comments and adventures these two go on really bring the book to life. I love their deep desire for answers and finding truth. The protectiveness of Liam with Rae give this book a swoony feel, even as they struggle with the past and future. I would have liked to see a little more background story for this couple, but overall I thought it was great seeing them work through trust issues and where their future would go.
“God, you’re here in this place. In the stars above. In the mountains and the woods, smiling down at me from heaven and here with me now, closer than I can understand.”
Another aspect I enjoy about Goddard’s writing is how she brings God into the story with ease. Liam’s search for direction in his prayers drew my heart. His desire to forgive Rae, but not wanting to open his heart again. Rae struggles with her guilt over what happened between Liam and her in the past. As Rae searches for her sister-in-law, she leans more on God. I love her heart for searching out truth. She has that journalistic drive that at times makes you want to strangle her for not listening to Liam. However, it definitely amped up the adventure making for a fantastic read. This mystery will keep you guessing who is involved right to the end. A great read!
I would recommend this book for anyone who loves romantic suspense. If you love Irene Hannon and Dee Henderson, you will love Elizabeth Goddard. It could be read as a standalone. However, the other books in the series would add more depth to the characters.
I received a copy of this book through NetGalley by the publisher, Revell. The opinions given in this review are my own and given honestly.
I loved everything about “Don’t Keep Silent” by Elizabeth Goddard. I loved the characters, the theme, and the suspense. This book hooked me from the first page and kept me hooked until the very end. It had me guessing the whole time! I could tell that Elizabeth Goddard really did her homework, because there were some very complicated things going on!
The main characters – Rae and Liam – were so likeable. And I was cheering the whole time for their relationship to work! I think another reason why I loved this book so much was that the theme was different than what I usually read. This was a fresh, new subject, which I enjoyed greatly.
I definitely recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the good, clean, romantic suspense genre. You won’t be disappointed!
I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest opinion.
