To say Jane, Reid and Will have a complex relationship would be a huge understatement. Of course when you are raised in a cult normalcy is not an option and a complex life is the only possibility. Jane is bound by rules and the truth, Reid has a son to protect at any cost. At the foundation of the relationship between all three is love. The events that unfold from the evil around them will test the bonds of love in each of them.

A great series, I eagerly anticipate the next installment.

Wow! What a nail-biter! Two Reasons to Run will keep you guessing until the very end as you follow Police Chief Jane, her 15-yr old son Will, and Will's father Reid in this fast-paced suspense. This is book 2 in the Pelican Harbor Series and while it could easily be read as a stand-alone, you won't want to miss book 1 in the series which provides background information about the main characters in the story. As always, Colleen Coble writes well, pulling the reader in emotionally through-out the entire book. Romance is secondary, but very much part of the story, as are family relationships from all angles. Life is messy, and the story doesn't shrink from showing the messiness of families, but God's grace is also evident throughout the book. Great book!

I love this series and the characters and the location. Murder, threats made on Jane and Reid’s son, secrets from the past, a reunion and the best of all; Parker the dog. The book really kept me interested and has the right amount of mystery and suspense along with family drama and relationships.
Thanks to Netgalley and the Publisher for the ARC

'Pray? Would God even listen to her? She wanted to spring into action, to be the warrior she'd always been.'

Colleen Coble does a mighty fine job with the second book in her Pelican Harbor series. Police Chief Jane Hardy, only recently reunited with a son she thought dead, and his father, and still reeling from a huge scandal that shook her small town police department once again is battling a murder. The murder exposes an environmental terrorist's plot to flood the bay with crude oil. Jane must put her life on hold, including her feelings for her son's father, while she deals with this. Then their son is threatened and all stops must be pulled out to save his life before the sabotage.

Coble is quite good at suspenseful series. Her Rock Harbor series is my all time favorite and I was definitely glad to see her back with a super series. Well written with a credible plot and good characters, this one is on top of the game! Recommended.

*I received a complimentary copy of this book from Thomas Nelson Publishers through Net Galley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Two Reasons To Run is the second book in the Pelican Harbor series and continues the story of Jane and Reid. This book has them facing the kidnapping of their son Will and the possible terrorist attack of an oil platform called Zeus. This book like the first book has romantic tension, and nailbiting suspense throughout. Again, another cliffhanger and I can't wait for the conclusion next May, 2021!! I really enjoyed this story. I highly recommend this series to be read in order to get the full effect.
*I was given a copy of this book by Thomas Nelson and this is my honest opinion.

Two Reasons to Run by Colleen Coble is the second in the Pelican Harbor series. Jane is a fierce woman who has endured a lot of heartaches and survived! I did not read the first book in the series, One Little Lie, and I would have understood more about the characters in this book if I had read the series in order.
The opening scene of the story is heartbreaking! Jane is the Chief of police in Pelican Harbor, Alabama. Ruby comes to Jane with concerns about her missing son. Keith had emailed a message to his mom with suspicions of a possible plan of sabotage on Zeus, the oil platform in the Gulf. He had instructed his mom to take the information to Chief Hardy if he did not come home.
As Jane tries to find more information about Keith, she receives a warning. She must stop her investigation or her son will be killed. Jane will pursue all leads to find answers to a possible terrorist or protestor attack on the oil platform.
Jane also has a family conflict that has not been resolved. She had been raised in a cult and she had been 'married' according to the cult practices to Reid and she had a son. Jane escaped with her father during a fire at the compound. Jane's father told her that Reid and her son Will had died in the fire. In the first book of this series, Jane learns that Reid and her son are alive fifteen years after the escape. Now Reid wants Jane back in his life with Will.
There is a lot of action scenes in this story and Jane is unrelenting in trying to find the truth. The humanity and spirit in this book are about forgiving, trust, and having faith. I look forward to reading the third book, Three Missing Days.

Two Reasons by Colleen Coble
Colleen Coble does it again! The 2nd book in the series answers some of the questions from the 1st book in the series but leaves enough questions for me to eagerly await the next book in this series. Suspense, romamce and mystery collide in another page turner. Enjoyed the fact I didn’t solve who was running the show.ooking forward to more mysteries being solved. #NetGalley #TwoReasons ,#ColleenCoble. This book was provided to me by Net Galley for my review. The opinions are my own.

Read another great installment of Coble’s latest series. Jane, the police chief of Pelican Harbor, along with her son Will’s father, must deal with threats made directly to Will. One murder gives strong proof that sabotage on an oil rig is a real threat. Can the mystery be solved before more people die? Reading to the end is the only way to find out!
Entwined in the this story are the lasting consequences of a cult and broken trust, along with a pesty “ex” who keeps making life difficult. Reading the first book would be helpful to lay a better foundation of understanding background details as the story unfolds.
I appreciate the reality of how broken trust is not automatically overcome. So often Christian forgiveness demands complete denial of consequences, needed boundaries, and time to rebuild relationships as a result of sin.

Two Reasons to Run is book two in a trilogy and should be read after book one. Police Chief Jane Hardy took over for her dad after a bunch of things went down in the first book of the trilogy, including meeting the son she did not know was alive. Old feelings are on the rise between Jane and Reid, the father of her son but Jane is still reeling from all the lies and secrets. When an oil rig worker reports possible terrorists threat on his offshore rig and then proceeds to disappear. Jane runs head long into danger as even her son is threatened. In a super action packed and heart pounding plot, Jane takes on the bad guys, tries to heal her heart, and maybe even find a little faith. The story has many interwoven threads that lead to different separate plot points and ends with a to be continued for Jane and Reid's story. Rich world building and interesting characters make for a page turning, enjoyable Christian romantic suspense. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

Set in a small town in LA (that’s Lower Alabama), there is family tension, a possible romance, and a death threat (or two).! What could make a better story, right? Two Reasons to Run was another great story by Colleen Coble!

Two Reasons to Run, the second installment of the Pelican Harbor series set on the Alabama gulf coast, is another action-packed page turner from Colleen Coble! As in One Little Lie, the first book in the series, lies and revenge spawn murder and mayhem for the folks in Pelican Harbor. Ms. Coble’s attention to detail and expert storytelling skills combine to make a suspenseful plot with multiple twists and turns and “aha” moments. The characters are believable and well-developed. Since many of them are carried over from the first book, it would probably be a good idea to read the books in order, but enough background information is given to make this book also work as a stand-alone. I especially appreciate the way in which the faith element is seamlessly woven into the plot. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am looking forward to the third book in the series which will hopefully tie up all the “loose ends”!

I received a copy of this book in e-book form from the publisher via netgalley but am under no obligation to write a positive review. All opinions are my own.

TWO REASONS TO RUN. Colleen Coble.
Keith been working at an oil rig site for two years, feeling uncomfortable lately of what was going on now, Was it sabotage and to destroy the coast line, or was he over reacting and with no proof, who would listen.
The second book wraps up the murder in the first book. In this we have another murder, and will wrap up in the next, or third book.
The relationship between Police Chief Jane and Reid moves forward. The plot flows to the end with twists and turns.
One drawback was not wrapping the story up in the book, instead of carrying it over.
Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion by Net Galley and Thomas Nelson.

Two Reasons To Run
Colleen Coble
September 8, 2020

The Pelican Harbor series began with One Little LIe. After escaping from a cult with her father, a fire was set within the community. She was told that her mother, father, and husband Moose and son, Will died in the tragedy. Book 1 in the series ends with Jane Hardy accepting the Police Chief position in Pelican Harbor, Alabama. Her ex-husband, Reid and son are in Pelican Harbor trying to become acquainted with Jane Hardy. Reid is her former husband she knew as Moose. After she grew up in Pelican Harbor with her father being chief of police, he was arrested for theft and implicated in a murder. Jane became the temporary chief. At the same time Jane found out that he had kept the knowledge that her mother, Reid and her son Will were alive for 15 years. Reid came to town after producing many documentaries. He planned to reacquaint himself with Jane. She was angry that he did not search more intensively for her after leaving the cult. Officially he was there to produce a film about a possible terrorist threat to blow up the oil freighter, Zeus. Two Reasons to Run is Part 2 of the series that expands more into Jane and Reid’s relationship as well as Will’s life with both his parents.
The murder of one of the oil platform workers is uncovered, Jane is trying to discover the reasons behind it and who could have done the deed. Reid is crossexaming the film he and his photographer took aboard the boat. The plot becomes a mix of threats to Jane’s department as well as family and friends in order to create the explosion.
Book 3, Three Missing Days will continue with Jane’s story and meeting with her mother and further trials with Reid and her relationship.
Colleen Coble’s fiction is a romance/suspense that is considered Christian. Her characters are family oriented with verbal beliefs that God is with them in times of crisis. The mysteries are usually a journey of a character’s life with a main problem. I enjoy her works. I read many forms of mysteries and enjoy her less violent perspectives as much as other author’s more intense publications.
Two Reasons To Run by Colleen Coble will be published on September 8, 2020 by Thomas Nelson. I appreciate their allowing me to read and review the pre-published edition of Coble’s novel. A good mystery to cozy up with. Her latest is another winner.

This book is simply amazing! I almost believe it's the best book
Colleen Coble has written that I have read. I had to stay with it until
the end. I can't wait to read #3 of this series.

Thank you so much, Colleen Coble, the publisher, and NetGalley for
the chance to read and review this wonderful book!

This book is the 2nd book in the Pelican Harbor series. This is a series that you must read in order. The story begins with a mystery in the 1st book and the mystery is solved but the story is not wrapped up. There is a new mystery to solve in this 2nd book and again, the story is not wrapped up.. The drama of the relationships goes on. I don't think I liked this book quite as much as the first book. Still, I liked it enough, and I am still interested in the characters and what happens to them. However, some of the relationship twists are a bit trying. Jane's attitude is beginning to bug me. She doesn't give the men in her life a break, at all. I think the relationship between Reid and Jane was sadly lacking sparks in this book. I am hoping for redemption in the next book. I have to say that this type of drawing the same characters drama out in a 3 book series isn't my favorite. I like it better when books in the series feature different characters who are connected in some way. I hope that the author will stick to that type of line in the next series she writes. I appreciate Netgalley and Thomas Nelson publishing allowing me the opportunity to review this book prior to it's release.

This is a captivating mystery. As the relationship between Jane and Reid moves forward, so does a threat against a local oil rig and their Gulf shoreline. There were plenty of twists and turns, suspense, and drama. Although this mystery can stand alone, reading the first book in the trilogy first would give a better understanding of the back story on Jane and Reid. Excellent read - I highly recommend it!

I enjoyed this book by Colleen Coble as I do all of her books. Police Chief Jane, her son Will and her ex make this story very believable. This book is 2nd in a book series but somehow I missed the first one and was able to read this one just fine as a stand-alone. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Police Chief Jane and her ex Reid are working out the fact that Reid kept her son hidden from her for 15 years. There Is also a mystery in the book. An oil rig worker has gone missing after sending cryptic e mails about a possible attack on an oil rig. I enjoyed this story but a big part of it was left unresolved for the next book. I don’t like a book that leaves so much of the story for the next book. Except for this issue I would have given this book 4* instead of 3. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

Another fast-paced, adrenaline-inducing suspense story from Colleen Coble. Will Police Chief Hardy and Reid Bechtol be able to stop a saboteur in time to save an oil platform from being blown up? You’ll have to read it to find out! This is book 2 in the Pelican Harbor series, and while it’s helpful to have read the first one before you read this one, it’s not critical. I highly recommend this series.
