Good book for those beginning their career or small business owners wanting to prepare themselves for a crisis.
Great book, shows a plethora of tips on communicating in stressful situations, would highly recommend, Can't wait for more books from this author.
This is a great book for students or entry-level professionals that are getting started with crisis communications/management. It's also a good refresher for those who may need it in light of the current pandemic. For me personally, it was not wildly helpful, but I absolutely can see where and how it would benefit others that fall into the above categories.
Particularly during CV-19, I thought this would be a good time to pick up new tips, but there wasn't anything here that I wasn't already in place at my former company.
If you are with a company looking to get its Crisis Team Strategy started, this may be a good text book to reference. It would've been useful for there to be a quick summary sheet included so folks can reference at-a-glance than have to go through the lengthy content to sift out those nuggets or look at the end of each chapter.
This book is more useful now than ever. It's not breaking new ground in theory but instead providing practical steps, based on the author's real life experience, on how to plan and prepare.for an emergency, deal with an emergency while it's happening, and then how to manage recovery in the aftermath.
Looking at different audiences - from customers and clients to employees and external stakeholders - the book expertly helps you plan ahead for who will need to know what and how you should communicate information if and when a crisis occurs.
I really enjoyed the author's clear, plain English style of writing and hearing snippets of her career and experience coming through - it definitely made me feel like I was in the hands of an expert. This is undoubtedly a great book for anyone involved in PR or Comms, but there's also lots of wisdom for executives, human resources and independent business owners to get out of this book, too. Definitely recommended!
This is a very useful title for students of business management, public relations and communications. I will be recommending it to students.
I was very excited about this book, especially since we are going through the covid-19 crisis. The book did not focus on tips as much as I had hoped for, but this book was very helpful to combat any crises in the future!
Thank you to the Kogan Page Ltd and Netgalley!
A good book for team leaders and managers to help with those situations where crisis and conflict are the primary concerns. Well written and well rounded.
Kinda surreal reading this during COVID-19...
This book was on the short side (9 chapters) and it was more dry than quick. However, I appreciated all the tips, stories, case studies, and examples -- I am now armed with several takeaways that I'm eager to take back to the workplace. Thank you, Netgalley, for this arc.
