Jane Harding is an adjunct professor and romance novel author. Well her teaching contract is up and will not be renewed so I guess she is just an author for now. Toby Garrett, a bull rider, is home in Silverado Lake recovering from the shoulder injury he sustained being tossed by a bull. Jane is home in Silverado Lake to help her best friend Beth with her upcoming wedding and wondering what she will do if she isn't teaching. Back in high school shy Jane and popular Toby shared a kiss at a party that all their friends witnessed and teased Jane about for the rest of the school year. and beyond. She is still being teased about it even now, years later. That kiss sent Jane running and she told Toby she didn't even like him (Lie) Fast forward to the present. Jane is maid of honor for Beth's wedding and Toby is best man for Beth's fiance, Ethan. No avoiding each other now. Nowhere to run.

I loved this storyline. Jane and Toby are such interesting characters and the author has them growing a lot personally throughout the story. So much happens along the road to their HEA in this book. Such an entertaining read!

Thank you to Forever Romance for providing an early copy for me to read in exchange for an open and honest review. All opinions in this review are my own.
This second chance romance was something that I really needed right now! In First Kiss with a Cowboy, we have Jane, who turns to books after a tragic loss. The only person who has been able to pull her away from that is Toby, who upon her return home, has not only started working at her home, is also the best man in her friends wedding, so they are forced to work together on a lot of things.
They both learn a lot more about one another throughout the book, and learn that they didn't necessarily understand each other years ago when they shared a scorching kiss. This book was just the thing for me right now, and I really enjoyed my read of it! I'm so excited for this new Sara Richardson series, and can't wait to see what comes next!

Jane is a character I can identify with. She is a little out of step with others and feels awkward. She returns home a little lost to attend her best friend's wedding. She has secretly written a romance novel and is now on a timeline to write her second. She's struggling. While home she meets up with her teenage crush who broke her heart. Toby is home recuperating from an injury from his rodeo riding. He takes a job helping out Jane's mom at her guest ranch. The two cross paths and soon Jane has all kinds of inspiration for her writing. The two characters are both relatable and facing some crossroads in their path to their future. I liked the characters individually and even more as a couple. The book moved with a good pace and had a very sweet story. I received an advance copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Coming home is never easy but for Jane it will be the most pivotal moment of her life!

Jane has been running, hiding and masking the pain she feels within! After the horrible loss of her father Jane was never the same again. She turned into a quiet introvert who has spent her life hiding with the pages and words of a book! When she returns home for her best friends wedding Jane finds herself fave to face with only man capable of completely undoing her!

Toby has pain of his own but he also isn’t scared to go for what he wants! When he sets his eyes on Jane for the first time in years he knows that this time he’s going to do everything within his power to make things right and never let go again!

I loved how from the get go these two are thrust into having to work together! I also loved seeing the walls crumble as they got to see that other wasn’t who they always thought they were! It was the sweet hometown read I’ve been needing in my life!

It started with one kiss!

Jane Harding’s teaching contract had just ended and her agent told her that the publisher didn’t like her next book, she had six weeks to rewrite the book and three of those were already spoken for as maid of honor for her best friend. Rodeo star Toby Garrett was home to recover from his surgery and when he found out that Jane would be the maid of honor, he wantd to see if the attraction in high school was still there even though they only had one kiss.

First Kiss with a Cowboy by Sara Richardson is all about what happens when the one kiss that Jane and Toby is something that neither of them has ever forgotten and now, they get the chance to date and figure out their future.

I wish I could give the book 4 ½ stars because it was a book that make the reader fall in love with Jane and Toby!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

That first kiss was a doozy!!

Aw, this is such a sweet sorta-second-chance romance. Jane and Toby share one hot -- and immediately regrettable -- kiss back in high school, and are now thrown together eight years later when their best friends are getting married. They both are at crossroads in their careers, so the chance to figure out if that kiss meant anything is too tempting to pass up.

I loved the small-town feel, and Toby sure is one hot cowboy. Jane is a delightful heroine, an every day girl who sometimes has the worst luck but she still pushes on through. The story really delved deep into their hidden grief and insecurities, making their eventual HEA all the sweeter. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This first book in the series was a sweet touching story about two individuals whose childhood and youth have molded them to whom they are today as adults.
Jane Harding and Toby Garrett were always competing in school . He the outgoing , athletic one, and she the shy and quiet one who was often ridicule by “the popular” crowd. During a HS party Toby kisses her, and should be been special, destroyed Jane.
Now back in town for their friends wedding, they are forced to work together.
Will they have a chance of opening their hearts and past to each other? Will they get a chance at love?
At times heartbreaking but also heartwarming, the story is a reminder on how one’s childhood and family dynamics truly affect one as an adult. This introduction to the series, makes the reader wanting to know whose story will be next.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Netgalley and Forever. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

It’s been awhile since I’ve been this excited for a new series. I knew once I started reading that this was going to be a great one. Despite having her other books, this is the first book that I finally got to read. Oh, how excited I am to share with you that First Kiss With a Cowboy, the first book in her new Silvarado Lake series, was fantastic and I couldn’t put it down.

Honestly, I’m on a case by case basis with the cowboy books but this one definitely roped me in. Everything about the book was so charming. There is always something so special with second chance romance books that suck you into their love that make getting to the hea all the more sweeter. The author sets the mood with such a gorgeous setting complemented with engaging, relatable characters that have you at hello. You can’t help to want to be friends with all of them.

I really loved Jane. She is truly an underdog that if only she saw how wonderful she truly is. She is smart, shy, kind and a bit of an introvert. She grew up in a small town where everyone knew each other. You know the type when things happen, everyone knows about it. When she was a teenager, an embarrassing incident happened that sort of stuck with her and rested in the back of her mind. Fast forward with life, the stability that she had started to unravel. Her contract as a professor was coming to an end and despite her success with her first book, her publisher wasn’t pleased with her latest submission. Writer’s block getting the best of her, the best distraction to she had coming was the upcoming wedding of her friend Beth and her fiance Ethan.

Well, life has a way of throwing you curve balls. The last person on earth that Jane thought she’d see is the person who broke her heart so long ago. Upon returning to town for the upcoming wedding, heading straight to see her mom at their family ranch, she wasn’t expecting to see that familiar face. Unbeknownst to her, the past came crashing back in what seemed like her worst nightmare, her former crush Toby Garrett.

Toby isn’t the same guy Jane once knew. Life had been good to him as a professional bull rider. Sidelined by a current potential career ending injury, he was also in town for the wedding. Not only attending but will be right along side Jane as Ethan’s best man. Little did Jane know that embarrassing moment that happened long ago, Toby never forgot. Being a little older and wiser, Toby wants to right a wrong. Can he prove to Jane that he worth a second chance?

Overall, this was fun and sweet and I’m definitely looking forward to the second book. Once you get into the book, you won’t want to stop. Jane and Toby are the type of characters that will have you hanging on their every word and get lost in their journey. They are real. You will find them easy to connect with. I found it to be a quick read because I couldn’t stop. Wonderful characters, great setting, and loved the relationships that developed into the book. Wonderful start to this new series. I can’t wait to see who’s next. I’d recommend adding this to your TBR. Oh, as a special treat there is a bonus story by AJ PIne!

First in Sara Richardson's new Silverado lake series. Jane hasn't been home in a long time. She's home now to see her mom and help her best friend get married. She didn't plan on running into her high school nemesis, Toby Garrett. He is also in the wedding party.
A nice read. I liked shy introvert Jane, who was a romance writer. Toby, was more adventurous, riding bulls. I have read Sara's books before and haven't been disappointed.

First Kiss with a Cowboy is the first book by Sara Richardson that I've read, but it certainly won't be the last. This sweet romance was the perfect read for the mood I was in.

Toby Garrett is a rodeo cowboy who unfortunately sustained a devastating injury to his shoulder. He's had surgery and is in the process of rehabbing. He's returned home to where he grew up to be the best man in his friend's wedding, but he's also going to spend time at home since he's got nothing better to do at the moment until he's cleared. He ends up finding work at a local ranch that will end up bringing him much more than a paycheck when he comes face-to-face with the girl who broke his heart in high school.

Jane Harding hasn't been home for years. Once her father passed away, she preferred to continue living her life in California with few trips back to where she grew up. She's now back to help plan her best friend's wedding and to be the maid of honor and there's also the issue of rewriting her second book that is due to her editor. What she doesn't expect to encounter is the man who kissed her in high school and because of her own insecurities pushed him away even though it was the last thing she wanted to do.

When Jane and Toby see one another, it's clear there is a pull between them. They've both gone through a lot and while Toby would be open to picking things up with Jane, she is exactly the opposite. The last thing she wants is to get hurt and because of that, she's shut herself off from relationships and anything scary. Will Toby be able to bring her out of her protective shell, or will she let the man that she's always cared about slip away again?

This was a really enjoyable read and while it started a little slow for me, it definitely picked up and I wanted to know what happened between these two! I look forward to seeing what else happens in Silverado Lake!

Sassy and sexy aptly describes First Kiss with a Cowboy. Jane and Toby had chemistry, but fear and insecurities kept them apart. Until both return for their friends' wedding. Sparks fly as Toby recuperates from an injury and Jane dissolves her writer's block. The white water rafting scene was terrifying and terrific. Most women dream of having a man send smouldering looks her way like Toby does to Jane, He is a swoon worthy fictional boyfriend. Find peaks with this Colorado cowboy.

I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley for my honest review.

Jane and Toby met when they were eight years old. Throughout their childhood, the argued and competed. Then “the kiss” happened their senior year, and typical teenaged misunderstandings occur. It is now years later, Jane is a college professor and writer and Toby is a successful bull rider. They are back for their best friends’ wedding, and old feelings are back. Overall, it was an enjoyable read, but I had a hard time warming up to Jane. She was emotionally stunted over an incident that occurred in High School and blamed Toby when it was really her that caused the problem. She is still upset about it 8-10 years later. They eventually work through their issue and get to their happily ever after.

I have to honestly say this book was just okay for me. It wasn't bad and I liked the main character Toby but I had just couldn't get excited or interested in all of the hang ups and issues that Jane had in the story. Honestly i thought the extra bonus story at the end by AJ Pine was great and liked that more than the featured story. I would give AJ Pine 5 stars and I would not recommend this to anyone but I am definitely going to be reading more by AJ Pine.

Going back to teenage years can be hard for those with failed teen romances but this book brings it full circle. I love the way these characters build each other up from their tragic losses.

I really enjoyed this. It was my first cowboy romance and I high key loved it. Something about cowboys is just really sexy and I love it. The relationship between the two characters was so adorable. I love the whole dislike to lovers trope. I would've given this 5 stars if the explicit scenes were a bit more steamy. Those scenes just didn't match up to the rest of the book in my opinion. I still had a fun time reading this book and I can't wait to try out more from this author. I give this book 4 out of 5 stars.

Very sweet romance with the right amount of angst. Jane is no plain Jane, at least on the inside. She's allowed pain and grief to grip her life and put walls up with relationships.

Toby has his own private pain which had led him in a life of high adventure, always trying to reach the next pinnacle of success as a rodeo cowboy. Injury has slowed him down and now he's back in town.

Jane and Toby have a past that both seem to recall differently. Good thing it gets cleared up early in the story and the reader gets to focus on the intense chemistry between these two. It was a sweet romance with plenty of steam.

First kiss with a cowboy. I really liked this story. I guess I could not picture the cowboy in this story. The same guy as was on the cover. The story cowboy was supposed to be unbelievable handsome. This story was a nice read

There is nothing like a sweet cowboy romance to make you feel warm inside! Toby and Jane have both experienced big personal losses that have affected their lives. They each reacted very differently - Toby has basically settled in to live his best life to honor his brother. Jane withdrew into a shy cocoon - pushing everyone away. They were extremely competitive in high school - which led to one explosive kiss and an teenage drama break between the two of them.

Both of them are at another crossroads in their life, when they return to their hometown for their friend's wedding. You can see that for Toby, his interest in Jane was just on pause and immediately comes back when he sees her again. For Jane, its more complicated. Toby scares her in every way possible, and she has closed herself off to any possibility of engaging in anything scary (other than publishing her book).

Overall, this is a sweet read. There isn't a lot of depth to the characters. Jane is very emotional throughout the book, which is understandable considering she is finally dealing with her grief and anger, but it feels like a lot of her recovery and progress happens off the page. Toby's progress is a little more present in the book - but even his moves towards dealing with his past losses and present career choices are kind of glossed over.

Overall - this is a nice western and if that is your catnip you should not pass this by!

I received this as an ARC from NetGalley, but these opinions are all my own.

First Kiss with a Cowboy is my first read of Sara Richardson's. It follows the story of Jane, a new romance author with writer's block, and Toby, a bull rider who is sidelined with an injury. While Toby works on recovery and Jane tries to rewrite her second book, they both return to their small hometown in Colorado. The last time the two saw each other, their Senior year of high school, was unforgettably disastrous. Now, as best man and maid-of-honor, in the same wedding they must see if they can get over past hurts and work together.

I liked this story. I'm generally a fan of second chances and old friends coming together. The setting in Colorado was right up my alley and I could see where Richardson was going with Toby and Jane's back stories. I just wanted it to be a bit deeper. What didn't work for me was how easily all seemed to get resolved and how saccharinely sweet the book was. It was slightly too over the top for me. Jane teared up constantly and Toby overcame some of his issues seemingly quickly and easily. That being said, I think this is a solid good first book in this series. It's a fast read and I could recommend this to anyone who wants a nice, sweet western romance.
