"Letting someone die is not the same as killing them."
This one, for me, was a little slow to start with. We meet Diana a few months after she's nearly killed in a car accident. With two broken collarbones and arms both in slings, she is unable to fend for herself and has to rely heavily on her mother in law Harriet. But something is very, very wrong.
About halfway in, the story starts to speed up and I was really hooked. There was so much going on, so many unanswered questions.
While Diana tried to remember exactly what happened before her accident, she starts noticing strange things happening and begins to wonder if she's going mad. Or is someone messing with her?
I was completely surprised by the ending. That moment when you make sense of everything was such a wow moment. It made for a really great ending.
Highly recommend.
Thank you NetGalley for the opportunity to review this.
The plot twist was predictable and not very surprising, but somehow I was hooked throughout the book.
A dysfunctional family. Affairs and secrets. A accident and amnesia. Quick read but several twists. This is a great read that keeps you guessing and the drama is exhausting!
A fantastic book with lots of twists and turns. The story is based on a wife who has had an accident which leaves her dependent on others whilst she recuperates from her injuries. The issue is that she has a huge black hole in her memory for the months before the accident. The main character is well introduced but the author cleverly writes so you are unsure of the intentions of her loved ones and family. Great twists throughout absolutely loved it
This was the first book I’ve read by Mina Hardy and it was a doozy. Dysfunctional family, amnesia, unreliable narrators and a huge twist at the end kept this thriller moving and unputdownable to the very end.
This compelling book is written from three perspectives: Diana, who is married to Jonathan, Diana’s closest friend Valerie, with whom Jonathan is having an affair, and Cole. I really enjoyed this book, with lots of unexpected twists and turns.
Wow...this was a very fast paced, addictive read! The story goes mainly between four characters Diana, her husband Jonathon, her best friend Val and her mother-in-law, Harriett. The friendships between all are certainly not your average, everyone and everything keeps you guessing. And the ending...I truly never saw that coming. Not at all! This is a new-to-me author, I’ll definitely be looking for other titles by her. A great gripping story.
This book left me speechless! It was so good! Wow! I was shocked by the twist and I truly love a good unpredictable book. After All I've Done follows Diana Sparrow. She has lost a good chunk of her memory after a car accident (or was it an accident??) and attempts to figure out what has gone wrong w her life. Her husband is quite possibly cheating on her and her life just seems to be falling apart. There are twists upon twists in this book and I read it cover to cover in about two hours. What a fantastic read for anyone looking for a good book I highly recommend this one!!
My thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a free ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Diana Sparrow's husband is cheating on her with her best friend. This is one of the few things she knows and remembers, as she was badly injured in a car crash, which left her with two broken collarbones, anesthesia induced amnesia, and a recurring vivid nightmare. The nightmares lead her to believe that something more sinister may have happened during the crash that she can't remember, and along with perspectives of additional characters, including her ex-best friend Val and a stranger named Cole looping back and forth between the days, months and years before and after the accident, she painstakingly attempts to figure out exactly what happened that night - but will she end up regretting this investigation?
I never get tired of these kinds of tropes. I.e., the main character loses their memory, and we follow along with them on the journey of picking up the pieces of the puzzle and putting it back together. Hardy does a good job of dropping subtle hints throughout the book to keep you hooked, and make you feel like you're seeing the fuzzy outline of a memory before it is fully exposed. A lot of these hints are so subtle that I didn't think anything of it until the end, when I said "oh, so that's why that person did this/said this" etc. It was also really interesting to see why certain things were set into motion before Diana's accident, and how things quickly began to unravel for everyone involved.
There's no doubt that Hardy is a talented writer. The prose and syntax made this story an engaging one that was easy to read, but the twist at the end really felt like it was just added for shock value. A huge bombshell gets dropped and then it feels like it doesn't fully detonate, but slowly fizzles instead of exploding. Everything was tied together, but it felt like it was done so loosely, and I finished the book feeling unfulfilled. With that being said, I don't know that this will stop me from picking up anything else by Hardy in the future.
Such a great read! A women, Diana is in a car wreck and loses her memory. She has nightmares that seem so real and makes her question everything everyone is telling her what happened. She starts to doubt what they are all saying. Even her hush and seems to not be telling her the truth. As her memory comes back, she finds out all isn’t the truth that happened and she really isn’t such a great person! Very good thriller!
This book had my attention from start to finish. There was several chapters written from different peoples perspectives which made it very interesting. I was connected to the characters. I absolutely loved the ending. Well done Mina.
Wow! I flew through this book. A woman has a car accident and has amnesia for the previous couple of months of her life. But this story has plenty of twists and turns. I never saw the final outcome!
I have not read anything by this author before but will definitely be looking out!
While the beginning of After All I’ve Done is a bit slow, the drive to uncover the truth in the tale is what really made me keep reading. The story follows Diana and Johnathan’s slowly dissolving marriage after a car accident where Diana loses her memory. Johnathan’s mother, Harriet, is all to eager to coddle Diana back to care the way she coddled Johnathan all his life.
I wish I could add more about the story but it would spoil a story that I highly recommend you read upon its publication!
Into the middle of the book, I really felt like things were being dwelled on a little too much for my taste and that there seemed to be a lack of substance in the novel. Once I got a little more than halfway through the book, I started to feel differently as the suspense ramps up.
The mystery of what happened in the months of Diana’s life she can’t remember slowly come together into one intense, sick, and shocking end.

Wow. What a story. Twisted and unexpected.
Diana has an accident 5 months ago and now she amnesia. She cant remember those few months before her accident. She keeps having weird and scary nightmares that feel too real. And if that's not enough, she sometimes forgets small things in daily life too. Makes her think she is loosing her mind.
Her nightmares and a few notes and incidences make her think that there is more to her accident. She cant turn to her bestfriend Val because she is having an affair with her husband for months. She finds some solace with her mother in law who keeps hovering and is starting to get on her nerves.
She joins an art class to try to relax and piece together her life, where she meets Cole. She likes her interactions with him. And thinks well starting something with him wont be wrong or bad. At this point the reader comes to know that Cole is connected somehow.
At first this book gives you the Before I go to sleep vibes. But somewhere along 30% of the book you realise whoa.. this is different. And the story starts picking up.
The characters are so well written. Honestly I dont think Val is good enough of a friend. The way she thinks about her "best friend" and is jealous of Diana. No way I would call that a healthy relationship.
Jonathan comes off as somewhat of a mama's boy a bit weak and indecisive.
Diana is a mess and understandably when we learn later why. But somehow I felt a bit detached as I read about her struggles and hardships. I think it's because she herself is such a narrator.
Around 20% of the book you realise the mother in law though behaves like a mother hen has a bit of a mean streak.
Things keep getting suspicious and I kind of guessed who the main party responsible would be. But I never wouldve guessed the motive. 😱😱 it's a shocker alright, which is why I described the book as twisted. Btw.. med+alcohol (everyone knows you aren't supposed to do that, it could be lethal) Mama doesnt always knows best!🙄
Without getting too much into spoiler world. This book kept me hooked throughout. I was eager to figure out what happened to Diana, why and how a certain someone was behaving like that. I wanted Cole and Diana to have some closure. But the ending does make sense.
What a ride.
That’s all I can say about this book. I literally could not put it down and finished it in two days.
It’s a story of a wife who was in a bad car accident and can’t remember anything from the few weeks leading up to the accident and accident itself. Though she can’t remember she Continues to have vivid recurring dreams that she can’t fully explain. The story comes together as multiple points of view are discussed.
As I read the book after each chapter I kept trying figure out what the real story was. Who some of these characters were and in the end how this all pieces together. I am proud to say I was able to guess a few pieces of the puzzle, though all those pieces didn’t really matter and the true reveals took me for a joy ride.
This book is full of OMG moments and “‘no way... I have to read the next chapter” thoughts. I was truly excited reading this from start to finish.
This was my first book I read from Mina Hardy and I can guarantee you it won’t be my last
Thanks to NetGalley for allowing me to obtain an ARC of this book.
This book reminded me of an escape room I did recently. You feel as though you’re dropped dead smack in the middle of someone’s messy life, their marriage and you have no idea what’s going on or how you got their. Like the great escape, you use the smallest of clues to make sense of the madness and figure out what the hell is going on! And guess what? I love it! While I didn’t necessarily love how it all came together in the end, I definitely loved the ride! Fun read! Arc provided by the author for an honest review.
Very enjoyable read. I love psychological suspense, and this did not disappoint. The characters weren't my favorites. I guess none of the were very likable. But sometimes that can be fun. The twist in this story was definitely different than most. I would continue to read books by this author. Thanks to the publisher and netgalley for letting me read an advanced copy.
This book was a whirlwind thriller. the characters were likeable and the plot was interesting. I would love for this to be a series.
thank you to the publisher for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.
Thank you Crooked Lane Books and Netgalley for this arc.
I give this book ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Diana had a bad accident a few months ago. Unfortunately, she couldn’t remember anything at those times, and her best friend and husband are screwing each other. These added to Diana’s frustration and also the eagerness to get her memories back.
This story can be predictable, but it is still intriguing. The twists are good, some I was like wth and some I’m like I knew it. But overall, the plot is good and moving. It’s an easy read and provocative. I like it.
This book kept me guessing from start to finish and felt really different from other thrillers I've read. Every character had their flaws, some bigger than others, and it was hard to figure out where to place your sympathy which I loved. The ending felt a little rushed to me, I would have liked for a slightly longer conclusion but still enjoyed it as a whole. This makes for the perfect fall/winter read and will definitely be a hit with fans of thrillers.
