Fun beach read with a little twist. I purchased and put in my summer must read section. I have had good feedback from patrons

I thought this book was a nice beach read. I kind of felt like there was too much going on in the story and that kind of dragged it down a little. However, I did still enjoy reading it and do recommend this author.

Although not a book I would purchase in my professional life, it is one that I will be recommending in my volunteer life!

This was okay. Nothing special. Just a basic everyday romance. It had all the cliche, good and bad, that I associate with this genre. I read it awhile ago and am struggling to remember details other than I had to force my way through it

What an amazing inspirational story that acknowledges that the best path is not always the safest or the securest. In this engaged story, Julie is dealing with an internal conflict that she can’t quite put her finger on. Only after stepping outside of her comfort zone is she able to see the life she was meant to live!

A great story of family, love and forgiveness.

While on a vacation with her two childhood friends, Julie discovers her uncle's not as she expected. He's not just a surfer in search of his next great wave. He's involved with fighting wrongs forced upon children. His current band of characters have become his "family" over the years proving family is not simply determined by shared bloodlines, but experience, support, and dedication.

Julie knows something is familiar with Scat who's running her uncle's bar, but she can't put her finger on why. She finally figured it out and gains a new respect for him. She and her friends experience a vacation to remember.

I received a free ARC eBook from Net Galley and the publisher in exchange for my honest opinions.

Lucky's Beach by Shelley Noble follows the story of twenty-something teacher, Julie Barlow, as she attempts to locate her missing uncle, Tony, aka Lucky. Locating her mother's surfing-obsessed twin brother turns into more than just a missing persons case, as Julie and her friends uncover an entirely different side to Uncle Lucky, and in the process dabble in forgiveness and romance.

This was not a book I could get into. The storytelling and character development felt stingy to me, with clues to the contrived mystery of Uncle Lucky and the relationship between Julie, her mother and Lucky doled out in such meager portions as to be more boring than tantalizing. By the time the so-called mysteries were solved, I just didn't care.

This might be a great beach read - and there are plenty of positive reviews out there - but it wasn't a great read for me. And that's ok. It's also why I support a robust and diverse writing and publishing world where there's something for everyone if we only look.

This book was based on an advance copy read.

I was disappointed with this. Maybe I was expecting something else but she seemed so cold through a lot of it. I also didn't care for his attitude either

Julie Barlow is having a crisis of heart - she needs this annual vacation to the beach with her friends so she can decide what to do. Then, her mom asks her to check in on her estranged Uncle Lucky, the man she once idolized but who let her down one too many times. Now, strange things are happening and she has been pulled in to a community and her uncle's orbit once more. Part mystery, part romance, and packed with an unforgettable cast of characters, this book will keep you turning pages to the end.
