Rykr and Lucy's story in Destined to Crave by Setta Jay is on Fire!!! I love how this book drives the reader to keep reading without losing focus or interest. This is my first reading from this author and now I'm compelled to go back to the series that started this! I recommend this steamy fantasy romance!!!

It did not make me want to continue the series, sadly.
I didn`t like the characters much so it affected the story for me.

I absolutely loved this short story. I loved the elements of Greek mythology combined with erotica, magic and mystery. I did not regret picking this one. It is well-written, fast-paced, and will not take you long to read. This could be read in less than a day!

This story is about Rykr, a descendant of two gods and a guardian of the earth who for different reasons ended up being cursed and, therefore (in addition to other reasons), doesn't want to be with his soul mate; Lucy, another immortal being.

The story focuses more on their relationship and the problems they have to face to be together, I personally liked the plot, it had a little bit of mystery but it wasn't the main focus and that's why it felt boring, I didn't like the relationship either and it was pretty cliché.

In general, it's not a bad book but it wasn't to my liking, the paranormal world wasn't explained in a good way, so, I had a bit of confusion at some points. Since it's a prequel and a short story, I wasn't expecting much. so it's a good story to pass the time and I can see a lot of people liking it.

In the first spin off of the Guardians series, we meet some of the children of the Guardians and first off is the infamous Lucy, the daughter of my favorite Guardians couple - Gregoire and Allyssa (btw, if you haven't read the best IMO offering from the Guardians series, please do yourslefs a favor and hop on the actiony, steamy fun right away). Her love story might not be the epic journey of her parents, but it handsomely sets up some might be bad guys (might be feature heroes), delivers on the hotness scale and most importantly fills up the hole that the series left in my heart and kindle. As always – can’t wait for the next one!

Another favorite by a great author. The plot of the story was very well written. The author really draws the reader in as you read.

Regardless of its short length, Destined to Crave packed a punch. It was full of action and intrigue. The two main characters, Rykr and Lucy are destined mates. As such, they each make sacrifices that they believe will protect the other. The story was full of creativity and originality. I found it quite enjoyable.

This book had me drawn in from the beginning. Lucy is a strong and selfless character that leaves her mate Rykr so he may grow up and experience life prior to spending an eternity with her. The way the story flows it allows you to connect to both characters. To see their desire and need to be with the one another. When pair finally connect it gets really steamy. If you're the type of reader that is into paranormal romance and like erotica I highly recommend this book. I was hooked and engaged from beginning to end. I am ready to find out what is next for Lucy and Rykr.

Knowing it was a 0,5 book and therefore pretty short I can’t say my hopes were super high when I started reading Destined to Crave. However, I am pleased to say that it surprised me with the level of originality and intrigue the story held.

I was drawn into the romance pretty immediately, not only for the sheer drama of them matched for life and then forced apart but also because of the characters themselves. I loved the fantasy aspect of both the world and the characters being immortal guardians and half gods and what not. The abilities they had and how that played into the story and the romance was absolutely addictive. Although, I do have to admit that it was a bit hard to follow because the world was so complex yet so shortly described or touched at that some things I feel like went over my head. I can’t complain too much though, since I jumped into this book smack down in the middle of a world developed in a previous series.

I was happy with the story from start to finish. Sure, it could have had more depth to its characters and a bigger development in the relationship, but considering the book’s shortness it was to be expected that it would miss some of this. I would have loved it to be a full length book since I really enjoyed the plot and romance, however it did its job as it was very well considering I’m now very curious to read the previous series in this world.

While this can be enjoyed as a standalone novel, due to the complex world building and number of characters, I would recommend reading the first book in the series first. But definitely a worthwhile read. The author's creativity is amazing.

Well, this was definitely an interesting read and it definitely made me want to continue reading the series. Consider me intrigued.
I was quite confused sometimes, as we're thrust into a whole new world with quite a complex magic system, and I felt like I missed some kind of connection. I don't know if this was meant to be read before the series (as this was a prequel) or if you were at least supposed to know some of the world beforehand.

I have read Mercenary Princess from this author before, so I already knew this author is skilled at writing hot and steamy love scenes, so it's no surprised I liked them here as well.

The synopsis caught my attention because of the fantasy themes and because the characters seemed very interesting. Although it turned out to be something simpler, without so many details because it's a spin-off from The Guardians of the Realms saga, by the same author, it's still a very enjoyable novella and that's read in a short time.

I found this novella quite entertaining. I turned the pages eagerly. There were magical beings ( some of whom had wings, gods and goddess', daemons, and humans. I felt the longing the two mc's had for each other. Some of the sex scenes were nice, although others were a little over the top for me.

All in all it was an enjoyable read for me. Some might find the raunchy sex too much. I would recommend this book to anyone who loves PNR romance mixed with a little E.L. James...

This book is absolutely INCREDIBLE!! I am looking up this series right now to order the entire series so I can read them as fast as I can.

If you love "fated mates," "posessiveness," magic and fantasy you will love this book and you won't be able to stay away from the rest of the series.

Setta Jay wrote a masterpiece that introduced me to their work! I am hooked completely and will be continuing this series immediately after this review.

I really liked this new spin on the series. I must admit that at first I was weirded out that these are stories of the kids that we have previously read about being babies or being born but once I read the book I realized I had nothing to worry about.

Overall a very good book, I cant wait to read more about the descendants of the guardians.

It's Setta Jay and you can't help be brought into this continued series. You have Lucy and Ryker. They discover when the are young and destined together as true mates. Lucy being older decides that they need time to explore and live life. They have to wait 10 years before seeing each other again and it is complete agony on them. Ryker has issues he needs to resolve before being together again. The novella is short but sets you up for the new spin off Descended of Guardians and I can not wait. Setta Jay Guardian series is always a one click and reread series for me an can't wait!!

I read this one before when the author first put it on Netgalley. I loved it, and I'm waiting for the next book in the series, which can't come soon enough!

Another amazing book from this author. I loved Lucy and Rykr! I also enjoyed seeing all the characters from the previous series too.

I loved being able to jump back into the guardians books! The story was great and the romance was hot but this book wasn't long enough though. I've come to expect a full length novel out of Setta Jay, not novellas. Oh well.

I hope we get to see more kids of the guardians type books.
