Prime Impact is okay, but I did think that the author may have bitten off more than he could chew with the rather clunky plot. He gives too many extraneous details when he should be concise. Many of his plot points defy belief. The latest woman to show up in his life seems pulled from thin air. The ending is a wrap that could rival a technical bulletin in excitement. He should really never try to write another sex scene. That's the negative.
I did like his main character and I also liked the way the author introduced the new woman in his life. She does not get fully threshed out in Prime Impact, but a sequel could portray her well. The spirit of the FBI and law enforcement personalities is well played. (But what happened to Witt? Didn't get his expected comeuppance!) I would definitely give a sequel another chance. Prime Impact is 3.5 stars rounded to 4.
Thanks, NetGalley, for the ARC.
