this was a really good read, the characters were great and I really enjoyed the plot, I found it unique and I wanted more in the series.

What I Liked:

An interesting premise. It might attract readers who loved the movie, Avatar.

Humor is threaded throughout the story and makes the deaths and all the fighting easier to read about. It wraps you up just as you begin to read and draws you in with a fun conversation between the main character and their feline robot, Harry.

We read from the POV of a likable protagonist. They’re okay with accepting that they don’t know everything about the dreamscape-like place. They will also ask for help when they need it. But instead of making them a pushover, the stubbornness and the constant mouthing off balance the character.

The final battle was fun to read. Harry’s appearance was a high point for me.

What I Didn’t Like:

It is hard to root for any character, except for the protagonist, because we don’t know them. Sure, they’re important and part of the story but I couldn’t connect to them.

I requested this book on Netgalley and I’m glad I did!

This book is a perfect blend of scifi, fantasy and dystopian fiction. The story captivated me from the beginning and the characters in the story are well developed. Fast paced and overall a good work of fiction. I loved Jane so much!
Thank you NetGalley, author and publisher for reader’s copy of this book. This review is my own opinion!

Zeon believes he is done with Pangea and is spending his time in prison for a crime that he didn't commit. However, when the Gods make contact he has no choice but to join their war, or risk an end to the entire human race.

This is the second book in a series. Although you possibly could read this without reading 'Challenges of the Gods' first, you would be doing yourself a massive disservice. Book One ended in a way where I did not think there was much need for book two. However, the author has successfully created that need without ruining the lot. There are even more characters in this book than there were in the first, which was confusing enough, to begin with, the last time. In this book, it has the potential to be more confusing but is actually handled a lot better and is easier to navigate the plot and keep track of who everyone is and what they're all doing.

I really enjoyed the story, it's well-paced and stays captivating throughout. I particularly enjoyed the opening chapter. The characters are diverse, but not all are that well rounded. The main character is slightly too perfect for me - even his annoyances are endearing. I would have liked one characteristic that irritated me about him. Then there is Jane, who he loves, who is this stunningly beautiful, brave, intelligent woman who also seems to be perfect. It's all too clean-cut - the good guys are good guys, and the bad guys are bad guys. I guess the grey area is filled by the Messengers who can be good or bad and you can never be certain what their real intentions are.

I received a pre-release copy of #EnemyoftheGods for free from #NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I wasn’t sure if I would like this book because it is not the type of stuff I normally read, but I was soon hooked. I did like this book, but it did remind me of the movie The Matrix. The things that mostly made me think of that movie was that Zeon and other people were put into pods, sent to sleep, and their consciousness was uploaded to an alternate place. In these hyperspheres, they can do things that they would not be able to do if they were awake, like fly. This book was a little confusing in some places because of the strange names, and the same but different people. Other than these things, I did enjoy the book. I loved Zeon. He had a grate since of humor and a bad habit of saying the stupidest things, but he was fun. There were some sad things also, but that was to be expected because it was war. I would recommend this book to others. I hope there will be another.
