This will be a helpful workbook for some. It just wasn't particularly helpful for me. I really wanted something to deal with my procrastination, which this book claims to deal with. I don't know. If offers lots of space every week for reflecting on various deep thoughts and all that kind of stuff. It talks about that familiar cliche of how we don't do things because we're afraid of success or whatever. I never really bought into that. If I still haven't painted my kitchen cabinets after buying the supplies and kicking myself for an embarrassingly long time, it's not that I'm afraid of having nice cabinets or harming myself with a painting accident, it's that I really suck at self discipline and making myself paint my bleeping cabinets. I don't know that making lists of things or brainstorming about creativity or journaling every week is going to get my cabinets painted. I need to know how to kick myself hard enough to become the kind of person who gets up bright and early and just paints her stupid cabinets because it needs to be done. That's the book I need. Oddly enough, I have published books and done much of the life stuff she writes about. I'm not really sure she's building self discipline as much as just giving good advice on bigger life goals. I'm good on those, bad on day-to-day goals that might not go on her life list but that I really need to find a way to motivate myself to do.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for the purpose of review.

The author provided a great guide for attaining self-discipline within 6 weeks. I found the advice and especially the exercises to be very helpful. I highly recommend this one.

Forget the personal trainer!

Six weeks to self discipline! Sounds doable. My first challenge was actually opening up the pages. I was ripe for some structure, or at least the motivation to move beyond my current state of apathy, apart from reading of course.
So here's the go, I made it partway through, am still actively engaged, so that's positive.
This is an easy to follow guide with focused slices of how to's and very readable.
A great starting place for those wanting change. But hey! No pressure!
A worthwhile addition that helps set up goals and expands on that self discovery journey. For those wanting to break through those self / habit imposed barriers this is a self help book that shows promise.
