It's the tale of Zoey and Miles, both of whom are ghostwriters for those who want great profiles on their respective on line dating services. He's a New Yorker and she's new to town from LA and at first they are in a contretemps over, of all things, the table at their local coffee shop. Slowly, though, they begin to find the good spots in one another even as- wait for it- they are doing an on line thing without knowing that it's with each other. Thank you net galley for the advance reader copy of this novel. This was a contemporary romance that kind of had a You've got mail/cyrano vibe to it. I loved the concept of it and it was overall a great read but took a bit to get into it.

This book had such potential! It reminded me of Tweet Cute in that the couple is falling for each other online and in real life without knowing who they are talking to online. Zoey and Miles are ghostwriters for people who are looking to spruce up their dating profiles. They work for different companies, so they don’t know each other this way. Their clients are matched on a dating app, and Zoey and Miles start talking to each other in the app as their clients. Meanwhile, they have a competition going for the good table at a coffee shop in real life.

I loved the first half of this book! I thought the concept of it was cute, and liked how they were falling for each other without knowing it. Then the book started to drag a little bit. I also didn’t love the way that they found out that they had actually been talking online all along. I felt like that could have happened in a better way. I was just let down by it a little bit. Overall, it’s a cute story, I just wanted a little bit more from it.

Ghosting had a really interesting premise. Our two characters Zoey and Miles are both ghostwriters, but as a dating service? Maybe it’s the fact that I’ve never internet dated, but I was blissfully naive about all these dating apps. I never would have guessed or thought that someone would hire a ghostwriter to help write your Tinder bio or help slide into someone’s DMs.

Our Hero Miles has been dumped recently and is living on his best friend’s couch, so when his job goes fully remote, he resorts to staking out the coffee shop and poaching their wifi. That is where he meets our Heroine Zoey. A recent transplant from California, Zoey is finding NYC overwhelming and the nearby coffee shop is becoming her newest workspace.

This is where the war for “the table” begins. The competition is fierce. Additionally, their ghostwriting clients match so Miles and Zoey start catching feelings for each other…without realizing it. Ghosting is a super slow burn, and the story is over halfway done before their romance starts to flourish.

My main criticism is that the story was a bit overly wordy and slow. Also Miles started off as a bit of a dick, and he really didn’t redeem himself by the end. But Zoey and her fairy godmother Mary? Both hundo percent amazing. In fact, Mary stole the show and my heart. What a wonderful character.

A warm love story that you can read with a hot cup of coffee in some quaint little cafe.

This book was everything I needed from a romcom: it had the potential to be made into a movie, some very cute scenes that made my heart melt and two distinct characters that were unlike the mainstream protagonists we usually see. It is the story of Miles, a hopeless romantic who wants to get married and have babies, and Zoey, a girl living with her past fears and trying to navigate through a new life.

Miles and Zoey work at rival startups that help people up their dating game. They come across each other at a Cafe down the block and are often seen at odds for who will occupy the big table by the window. Their banter is funny and charming. The thoughts of the characters were extremely enjoyable and cracked me up multiple times.

There was a little problem of it being slow in the middle but it quickly picked up. The book started with me disliking Zoey a little since she seemed to complain about everything and not giving a chance to the new city she is living in. But as we progress through the book, her character becomes more likable as she shows her fear of the subway and her insecurities. I love her background story because it felt so real to me.

Miles was always a charmer - I love his relationship with his bestfriend Dylan's boyfriend - their banter is to die for. Miles is heartbroken at the beginning of the story which is pretty rare for someone who believes in love - he does not believe he can go back to being the Old Miles. His job is at stake and his ex-girlfriend told him she was going to have a baby with someone else. Life is as bad as it could be.

New clients help Miles and Zoey get their lives back on track as they help them woo each other. Through the continuous banter, Miles and Zoey realize they are good people and help each other out of multiple sticky situations.

My favourite part was Zoey's confession about why she hated the subway and everything else about New York.

It's an absolute hit as a romcom and would recommend it to anyone who enjoys insta love and cafes. I know I do!

I really enjoyed this book! Miles and Zoey were adorable! Their comedic banter had me laughing out loud and loving this couple so much! The enemies to lovers trope in a coffee shop... yes, please!!!

After a slower start, I really got into this story of two ghostwriters working on separate dating sites. It had a very You've Got Mail vibe. I am always in for enemies to lovers, especially in a coffee shop. I really liked how Zoey and Miles came to know each other and how they each grew personally through the story. It was nice to have an enemies to lovers trope without them being truly horrible to each other. There was none of that "we need to have a conversation" feeling because they didn't know that they were talking to each other. It was refreshing. This was a lot of fun to read. Miles and Zoey are ghostwriters for competing companies. They help their clients write better profiles on dating sites and assist them with the initial contact with potential dates. Their first meeting is fighting over biscotti at a coffee shop. From there they engage in this almost silent warfare for the free food and the best table in the place. Zoey’s client, Bree, and Miles’ client, Jude, pick each other as dates and Miles and Zoey start flirting through the clients’ profiles, without knowing that they are really talking to each other. Luckily for them Bree and Jude still hit it off, even with some inadvertent mistakes and meddling by their ghostwriters.

I enjoyed Zoey and Miles’ confrontations in the coffee shop. Zoey was very determined to make a success of herself after her recent move to New York, even though she was scared of using the subway and exploring the city on her own. Miles was her first real interaction with someone that wasn’t work-related. Miles was a bit whiney. His fiancée had broken up with him not too long ago, and she was expecting another man’s child. He was sleeping on a friend’s couch and didn’t have any plans on finding his own place to live, until his friend’s boyfriend sort of kicked him out. The war with Zoey did seem to bring him back to life a bit.

There was a lot of fun banter between the characters, and both Zoey and Miles seemed to have themselves sorted out at the end. I think Zoey grew the most as a character, and that was great to read.

While the idea of online dating ghostwriters seems completely absurd to me, it made for some really cute hijinks. Miles and Zoey are both so lovable. There were also some really great moments from secondary characters (I was especially fond of Mary), though the primary focus is definitely on the protagonists. The way the story played out, it was like we got to experience the budding relationship of Zoey and Miles through two different tropes: whirlwind (online) and rivals-to-lovers (irl) which was a really neat dichotomy for a genre that is very formulaic. Plus it was cute, and fun, and it made me laugh. 4 stars and I can’t wait to read more by these authors.

Ghosting; A Love Story is a perfect pick for any fans of a Cyrano story with a modern twist! While I had a feeling I would like this book, I honestly did not think I would like it so much! I could not put this book down and raced through it within a 8 time window. I loved pretty much everything about this rom-com-esq novel and if dating site ghostwriters are a thing please sign me up! The writing is witty and funny and characters are relatable, smart, and dare I say love-able (seriously, where can I get me a Miles?) And perhaps my favorite part is the representation! As an avid romantic-comedy watcher and reader, it has become a frustrating struggle to find characters of color who are well written and actually exist and boy does the duo of Tash Skilton deliver! Overall this is perhaps one of the best rom-coms I’ve read and I’m definitely looking forward to what Tash Skilton do next!

Ghosting: A Love Story was a cute easy light read. I loved Miles and Zoey, there both different and to me not really a match at first. Zoey is kind of an introvert who stays to herself, has the same routine doesn’t like to branch out into her new surroundings. Miles is more outspoken loves the city. He does more things and has a group of friends he sees or talks to regularly. They meet in a coffee shop while fighting over day old treats and the large table. You get to see their relationship unfold in a neat way. They are actually more connected then they think.

I received Ghosting, A Love Story by Tash Skilton from Kensington Books and Netgalley. This book is a fun romcom. I loved it. The story is unique and if the jobs existed, possible, and they may in the near future. It is one of the top romcom books I have read.

I loved this light, fun rom-com so much! It was the perfect kind of low-angst read that I've been looking for. I was laughing out loud so many times--there's such a distinct humor and voice to this book that set it apart from a lot of romantic comedies I've read in the best way. I also really appreciated how good the characters were at communicating with each other! They each had their own baggage and issues but were up front about them and it felt very satisfying to see that kind of mature relationship on the page. So looking forward to more from these authors!

Let me begin this review by saying that I typically only read thrillers and have recently discovered that I also quite enjoy romcoms.

Ghosting: A Love Story is just that: a love story, but one that is hilarious, sweet, and makes you feel all the good feels. It was so hilarious, in fact, that my son repeatedly asked me what I was reading because I giggled out loud so often.

The story follows Zoey and Miles, two people who both work as ghost writers for competing online dating companies. Their job is to help their online dating clients find potential lovers and partners by doing the initial chatting and getting clients to the first date. Miles has recently been dumped by his fiancee and this once true believer in romance has sworn off love. Zoey, a recent transplant to NYC from Los Angeles, misses her old life and is having difficulty adjusting to her new situation. They meet in an unexpected, rather hilarious way. There is a fantastic cast of supporting characters who I found myself liking as much as I liked the main characters. Do you want to find out what happens to them? I highly recommend reading this book and falling in love with it like I did!

Ghosting is the pick-me-up you have been looking for during these times of uncertainty. It was fresh and laugh-out-loud funny.

This enemies-to-lovers romance follows Miles and Zoey, two ghostwriters at competing online dating companies. They also double as rivals in “real life” at the neighborhood coffee shop where they compete for the best table and day-old biscotti.

I really enjoyed the slow-burn between Zoey and Miles. Their backgrounds and idiosyncrasies added an extra level of depth to the storyline. The book slowed down a little around the 40% mark but I kept pushing through and I’m so glad I did!

Tasha Skilton just became one my favorite rom-com duos (up there with Christina Lauren!!) 💖

This is a cute whimsical rom-com of a story. This is definitely a story that millennials will relate to and even though I am a bit older than a millennial, I still felt drawn to the characters. This story is basically an updated take on the movie “you’ve got mail”. It was an easy read with a very satisfying ending. I enjoyed it immensely.

This was a super cute fluff story! I read this in less than 24 hours. I loved it. Its quick and you start to care about the main characters immediately. I found mysself cheering for them the whole time. I’m definitely making my friends read this one.

This book feels just like the movie "You've Got Mail," but with a modern twist using the realm of dating apps. This enemies-to-lovers tale follows two rival dating app ghostwriters in a completely predictable yet sugary-sweet romance. From the beginning, I could immediately tell where the plot and characters were headed, and it took forever to build and there. Almost too long. It's super cute, but honestly, nothing groundbreaking or special. Everything is expected. The sugary-sweet love story is a bit boring, and one I've seen play out again and again. I just wanted something new and more. But that being said, the end was equal parts adorable, steaming, and romantic. Hey, you gotta love a good enemies to lovers trope.

DNF at 60%. To be honest I really really wanted to love this book but I just couldn't with it.

This book has such an interesting synopsis, two I was really excited going into it. I think my main gripe with it is that things felt very contrived. Like for example how the main character moves to New York feels so incredibly unrealistic that it really irritated me. Also, I think there should have been twice the amount of interactions between Miles and Zoey. I understand that they are interaction when they don't really know it, but I didn't connect with those moments half as much as when they were together in person.

I don't know maybe I was in a slump, but I just wanted more. 2/5 stars.
