This book had an interesting premise and I was excited to read it. Sadly, the story did not live up to the expectations, and that might not be on me. I found myself struggling to connect and get into the book.

This was a great 'finding yourself ' romance, with a strong, sporty FMC. Avery has been aiming to make it to the Olympics in gymnastics. When life throws a wrench into her plans, we get to watch Avery being down a path she never expected. This one drew me in from the start.

I’m not sure how I feel about this one still. I liked it while I was reading it but I found it very forgettable. I did really like the characters and the story line.

I really enjoyed this book. There aren’t many stories written about gymnastics so this one caught my eye immediately. I thought this book did a great job bringing so many aspects, good and bad, of the sport to life. I enjoyed the friendships between Hallie, Sara and Jasmine but the romance aspect of this book fell flat for me. I would have loved to feel a deeper connection between the two. I enjoyed this book but would only recommend it for the female friendships!

A self discovery romance that brings Avery back to life after gymnastics. A great story that blends finding yourself when your future no longer represents what you thought it would be.

Head Over Heels deserves a gold medal, but since that isn’t an option on netgalley I’m giving it 5 ⭐️!

If you’re a sports romance girlie who wants a novel that has multiple layers and touches on some real world issues- add this to your TBR now!

This is a contemporary fiction / contemporary romance novel that focuses on a gymnast who was on her way to the Olympics until something tragic happens.

This novel is all about self discovery, relationships, resilience, and second chances.

I loved every bit of this!

This is the third book I’ve read by Hannah Orenstein and it has more of a serious tone compared to her lighter reads.

What an adorable book about gymnastics and romance. When I think of sports romance, I tend to think of hockey players or baseball and football players, not gymnastics; however, gymnastics is one of my favorite events to watch during the Olympics and I only miss what isn't covered!

I loved the tenacity and passion Avery had to pursue being an Olympian gymnast. She put up with things NOBODY should ever have to put up with in order to be the best. I think one of the saddest things to happen to a gymnast in training is the horrible injury that prevents them from pursuing their dreams because (in Avery's case) gymnastics was her life. Such a horrible thing happened to Avery, but years down the road she was given the opportunity to help coach a team of gymnasts. While doing so she meets Ryan (a love interest), but "work" and romance too often conflict and cause problems.

I loved how Avery pulled it together when she was given such an awful blow as well as how passionate she was about her sport. I like how seriously she took her coaching position and put some things on the back burner.

This is such a fascinating look at gymnastics culture from one of my favorite writers-- I follow Orenstein on Instagram and get so excited when she announces a new book! This one was no exception.

What a delightful read! I loved diving into the world of gymnastics, especially with the 2020 Olympics being postponed. But this book was more than just an Olympic story. Orenstein went there with the mental health & sexual abuse topics. I love that while Avery was recovering from her own post-career depression, she was helping Hallie on her mental health journey & creating a safe space for gymnasts with her foundation. Plus, the romance was so sweet. Sometimes, to find yourself, you have to go back home, back to the beginning. Avery’s return to Summit changed her whole life & gave her what she’d been seeking.

I am sorry for the inconvenience but I don’t have the time to read this anymore and have lost interest in the concept. I believe that it would benefit your book more if I did not skim your book and write a rushed review. Again, I am sorry for the inconvenience.

2.5 stars

I do not feel like this book was the one for me. It was interesting enough but I didn't feel the story or the characters truly captured my attention.

I think this could be a better read for those that have a sport background or for anyone who invested time, years, and/or energy in a passion only for that to change.

Unfortunately, this will be a book that I will quickly forget because there wasn't anything truly memorable about it.

DNF - Did not finish. I did not connect with the writing style or plot and will not be finishing this title. Thank you, NetGalley and Publisher for the early copy!

If you love the Olympics, if you love elite gymnastics, if you love empowerment, if you love a good love story, this book is for you. I went into this book expecting something overly cheesy and was instead met with a fantastic story that centered around a love for gymnastics. This book digs in to the sport itself, the issues that the sport holds, the challenges of the expectations that we hold for ourselves, and more. I really loved this one and will read whatever this author writes!!!

I don’t know why it took me so long to pick up this book but once I did, I couldn’t put it down. What a great story and I’ve downloaded more books by this author since.

A cute little story that I probably wouldn't have picked up on my own. A lot of my friends loved it too!

I enjoyed this book a lot. It was a cute love story and I found it refreshing that the main character was able to continue on in her gymnastics journey despite challenges.

I’ve had this book for a little while, I first got a galley for the ebook on NetGalley and then found the physical book at a book sale. I feel bad that it took me so long to read it but I enjoyed it even more than I was expecting. This book sounded cute but it had some extra substance to it too.

Avery almost made it to the Olympics seven years ago as a Gymnast. She had a bit of an accident at the Olympic trials, after devoting her entire life to her dream it was suddenly over. She was adrift for a long time. She never had a backup plan. She watched her old best friend Jasmine go on to succeed and the two lost touch.

At 27 Avery is just out of a 4 year relationship with a famous football player. She moves out of their apartment and back home to her parents’ place while she figures out what’s next.

She gets a surprise call from her old crush Ryan. He was a Gymnast too. He offers her a job coaching on her old home turf. After fighting hard to get the coaching job, she realizes it might just be her new dream.

I didn’t always love her live interest but he was an interesting character. I liked that Avery and Jasmine were able to reconnect.

Content warning on discussion about verbal, mental and sexual abuse by a couple of that coaches.

I got an early ebook edition from NetGalley, thank you!

I started reading the book, but was not drawn in & decided not to continue reading. Thank you for the opportunity to review this book, but it unfortunately just didn't work for me to continue with it.

Feminist approach to the world of gymnastics! If you’re all about girl power, and learning more about the world of gymnastics then you’d love this one!
