Unlikeable protagonist and her unlikeable boyfriends. This story jumps around the various relationships of an obviously unstable, emotionally disturbed woman who tends to fill her life with a series of boyfriends equally as unstable and disturbed as she. We hear quite a bit about their devotion to their art, her neglectful parents, and the violence in her relationships but never get a sense of what she really cares about or really feels. Unsatisfying and unsettling read.
