Another solid entry into the Domestic Diva series, although perhaps not my most favorite concept thus far. I quite liked the idea of Sophie helping ghost-write a cookbook and the mystery revolving around the book/author was well done and intriguing. The political ties and other side stories, however, were meh and not my cup of tea. Sophie continues to be one of my favorite cozy sleuths and her band of friends are warm and inviting, truly a group of people you'd want to befriend. I do quite love the setting (Old Town Alexandria, VA)- so charming and really a place I would want to visit or even live! Overall, a solid book, well written and intriguing but some parts of the plot fell flat for me.

Krista Davis + cozy mystery = must read. Phenomenal cozy, fun read, great characters. Highly recommend and look forward to more.

I wish I had Sophie Winston's ability to whop up something decadent at a drop of a hat but I can't so I will have to settle for reading about hers. I enjoyed this books so much, the characters are always entertaining and I know that I will be guessing until the end. I highly recommend this book and this series

I fantastic entry in one of my favorite book series. It’s fall in Old Town, and Sophie gets busy cooking fall favorites, decorating to suit the season, and solving more than one compelling mystery. I’d love to move right in and hang out with these delightful characters.

Sophie, the Domestic Diva, has a different type of job in this book: ghostwriter of a celebrity cookbook. The previous ghostwriter suddenly quit one day and hasn’t been seen since. Why did she quit and where is she? And what are those strange letters written in the margin of the notes? Sophie, Mars, Nina, and the rest of the usual characters are determined to find out. Thanks to Netgalley and Kensington for allowing me to give my honest opinion.

I really loved this book in a new to me series. Tha characters and location really and to the story. I can't wait to read the next one. This book keeps you guessing until the end.

Another excellent edition to a wonderful series! Full of twists and turns that leaves you wanting more and enjoying each moment until the end when the killer is caught!

A really enjoyable cozy mystery that I finished in one day, very hard to put down until you are done.

I was worried that this far into the series the stories and appeal of the characters would wane. Not at all. Sophie, Nina, Mars, Bernie, and Natasha are still fresh and fabulous. This installment is a fascinating puzzle using codes that kept me guessing until the end!

I absolutely adore this series by Krista Davis, and this next installment was no exception. The characters are wonderful, and I loved the mystery!

Another great Domestic Diva book. Natasha had located her long lost sister but the reunion is cut short when she is found hurt in Natasha yard. Always interesting to learn who the killer is

Another delicious mystery with our favorite domestic diva.

Book 13 is filled with lots of murder, intrigue, and food.I'm always worried about a series after ten books as I'm afraid things will get repetitive and stagnant but I have yet to feel that way about this series. I enjoy how Davis grows all her characters whether they are the main character or secondary characters. I keep hoping Sophie and Mars work out their differences and find the path back to love. This book gave me hope that maybe we are testing that path. Only the author knows.

This book includes many yummy fall recipes that I am already bookmarking to try as soon as it cools. The idea of drinking pumpkin spice latte or eating pumpkin soup when the heat index is above 105 degrees makes me melt. The pumpkin bundt cake sound absolutely divine. Oh boy, do I have my tummy growling in anticipation.

While ghost writing isn't necessarily Sophie Winston's wheelhouse, there are tiles falling off her bathroom wall and her ex husband's offer of a job seems like fate. Tilly Stratford is the wife of a new politician in town and the ghost writer she hired to help finish her cookbook walked out. The Old Town neighborhood where Sophie lives is quaint, and has many quirky local characters. Being on the outskirts of DC, it's seems to common to know former and current spies and politicians going about everyday life. In addition to the missing ghost writer, there is an bit of a heart wrenching plot device about missing children. A nice solid read and fun to get back to Sophie's world.

Love the diva series! The writer draws you in and makes you wish you could hang out in Sophie’s kitchen and be friends with the gang. The murder Is not so predictable that you guess right away and is mixed in with humour That will keep me coming back to all of Krista Davis’s series.

This is the thirteenth installment of the #domesticdivamystery series and I loved it! I had not read the previous 12 books but I really want to go back and start this series. There weren’t any “inside jokes” that I get I was missing since I started with book 13. It was very twisty and had tons of misdirection. I would highly recommend this book and if the others are anything like this one, I will highly recommend the series!

It's hard to believe this is book 13 in the Domestic Diva series. Sophia is hired to ghostwrite a cookbook when the first writer disappears. Tilly is a celebrity and wants to publish a cookbook. As wife of a senator she has the status and the recipes. Sophia discovers the previous writer has left codes on the recipe cards and now murder and intrigue are on the plate. A great cozy mystery with some of my favorite characters back to visit. I received a copy of this ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.

The Diva Spices It Up by Krista Davis is an engaging cozy with mystery, mayhem, and murder. It is the 13th A Domestic Diva Mystery and I believe that it can be read as a standalone. I have only read one book many years ago, and I had no trouble following along. Krista Davis never disappoints with her developed characters and wonderful settings. Sophie Winston is a freelance event planner who is wore out after handling four conventions in four weeks. She is looking forward to some downtime with her cat, Mochie and dog, Daisy. Unfortunately, Mars Winston needs Sophie to do him a favor. His client’s wife, Tilly Stratford’s cookbook ghostwriter quit without notice and the cookbook is due to the publisher in just a few weeks. Sophie’s bathroom needs a remodel (tiles fall off while she is in the shower), so the generous salary would come in handy. Sophie did not count on getting drawn into a mystery. There is quite a bit happening in this twisty whodunit. A welfare check finds a body in the freezer of the ghostwriter’s home, a suitcase pulled out of the river by a fisherman, two missing women, mysterious code, and another lady is beaten badly. There are subplots going on at the same time. Sophie spies a man doing some odd things about town. She wonders what he is up to and is it related to the main case. Tilly’s husband, Congressman Wesley WInthrope has had his email hacked and the contents are being bandied about social media causing an uproar. The mysterious code was intriguing (what mystery reader does not love a cipher). I had just watched a movie that helped me figure out that part. The author did a wonderful job plotting out this knotty mystery. I like how everything came together at the end. I had a good time following the clues and arriving at a solution. I could not wait to see if I had landed on the correct resolution. There are delectable items cooked up in between sleuthing sessions. Sophie is a whiz in the kitchen (she should be on television, not Natasha). There are recipes at the end including one for macaroni and cheese. I like how well Mars and Sophie get along even though they are divorced. I enjoyed the secondary characters like Eunice, Frannie and Nina along with the cute animals. The Diva Spices It Up is a pleasing and puzzling cozy mystery with a missing mother, curious code, located luggage, a confusing cat collar, a stiff stuffed in a freezer, and a horrible hacker.

I so enjoy Krista Davis' Diva series, and with everything going on in the world right now, a light-hearted cozy is the perfect pick-me-up.

As usual, this book starts out strong with a great beginning that pulls you in and keeps you guessing all the way to the end. Miss Davis has great character development and well-developed plots that always finish neatly tied together at the end.

I have enjoyed all 13 books in her series and I look forward to more.
