I love a good reverse harem. There is just something deliciously decadent about all that testosterone all for you.
The build up in this book was great. It gives you a little back story into the feelings and you get to watch them grow and change for each of the guys.
I loved the humor in this book as well. It was a nice break when the tensions where getting to high and you need a moment to fan yourself.
This is one of those reads you are gonna add to the guilty pleasure shelf.

I’m across this wasn’t for me! I thought it would have been and thought it was myself as I lost my cousin to COVID last year an I put that down to the reason. I picked it back up recently and still I couldn’t get into it which is such a shame!

Holy crap...this book did me in. While I have not read the original series I am highly intrigued to do so now. This was my first book by Janie Marie and I never wanted to put it down.

This book follows Jane a high school girl who has been in love with her step brother and three of the brothers who live next door. She fought her feelings for absolutely all of them for a long time and once they all came out everything went absolutely crazy. But she and her guys fight to stay together and never let one another go. But the end is what got me...just enough information for me to go back and read the other series by this author.

As I said before this was my first book by this author and I loved just about every moment of it. There were a few moments where I feel like the flow was off and it was those moments that I didn't like. Janie had me on the edge of my seat never knowing what was going to happen next. For a book based in High School it was actually really spicy and not meant for children at all. I look forward to reading the next book when it finally comes out!!! Her timings and writing style were amazing and I look forward to reading more books by her really soon!!!

What the heck did I just read? This book was totally crazy town. Yet I couldn’t put it down because I was determined to see it play out. But really, I didn’t enjoy it. It was SO LONG. And the second epilogue had me like, what? Clearly there is a series to these books that I didn’t know about, but I’ll take a pass. Thanks to netgalley for the arc.

There are many things throughout this book that made sit back and think this to myself. Many things including the fact that their are quadruplets in this novel, one of which is called Tercero which literally means "the third". I find this funnier then I should.
This wasn't really my thing but it was like a carcrash I couldn't look away from and the next thing I knew I had finished the whole thing.

I really tried getting into this one. The premise is something I actually like. However, it just read very juvenile and the writing just wasn’t that great. It didn’t keep my attention.

I didn't finish Jane's Team. It is just not my thing at all. I was hoping to like it, as I love YA, but instead I found it very annoying.

This book was long. Really, really long. I was pretty creeped out by the age of the characters - the story would have been less 'icky' if the characters had been in college than high school. Although it would have been better if they were mid-late 20s. And the men just were obnoxious. The stepdad included. I just couldn't get behind this book unfortunately.

I wanted to like this more, it has sexy guys and romance and drama, but it dragged on forever. I couldn't believe it's under 400 pages, I thought it might be closer to 600. I appreciate the author wanting a slow burn so it feels more realistic and we have build up, but it was too slow.
I also thought it was weird that Jane so clearly loved one of the guys more than the others and the fourth guy was barely even there. I wish the harem had been more equal in page time and the bonds they shared.

The plot overall was okay, it had plenty of drama to fill the spaces. I didn't understand why it was so taboo for Jane to date David. Yes they're stepsiblings, but that didn't happen until they were fifteen so I think Kingston and Sarah made a much bigger deal of it than they needed to. Speaking of Sarah, what a terrible mother she was, treating Jane like her competition and never showing affection. I wanted her to work more to repair her relationship with Jane, to see her actually make amends.

Luc was my favorite of the guys and of course he's the one we barely see and he has almost no steamy scenes with Jane. It almost felt like he should have left and found someone else, since Jane was always shying away from him and didn't want to spend alone time with him. Why would he want to deal with that?

I think this could have benefited from having a bit less build up so the story moved quicker. It was also basically a fan fiction the author wrote for her other books so I guess if you read the other series you would get a lot more out of this than I did.

This definitely kept me hooked! But having every guy after Jane, even brothers, was a bit weird, especially the way they all acted. They all acted entitled to Jane, except maybe one or two, but even so, and Jane acted way too indecisive. For a big chunk of the book it was more her just going from guy to guy to see who she would choose. I did like the overall story, however, and it was interesting to read. Jane's step-father was also annoying, and her mother didn't do anything to help her for part of the book. Overall, I'd definitely try it out if you're interested in reading a high school reverse harem romance, because they're hard to find.

Okay, look. I can get down with some freaky, forbidden romances. Don’t bother me one little bit. However, there were some glowering issues with this book. The more I thought about it, the more mad I got. That’s why you see the rating changed from 3 stars on my April wrap up to 1.5 stars now.

This story follows Jane who has been in love with her step-brother, David, since before they were step siblings. She also has a crush on the jerk next door, Ryder. Jane is forced to tutor Ryder, star of the football team, and learns maybe he isn’t such a jerk after all. Then somehow his two brothers Luc and Tercero are factored in and she just.can’t.choose. Four super hot guys fawning over this girl who’s never even been kissed.

It starts with Ryder and David, and they decide to share and let her explore and make up her mind. Then comes the other two brothers, and they decide to be one big happy family.

All that? Good. Doesn’t bother me one bit. You know what DOES bother me? THE MEN IN THIS BOOK!

I felt every man was so misogynist and just, ugh. They didn’t treat Jane with respect at all. They all try to boss her around. It was the things that were said to her that really pissed me off. Jane, of course, was very insecure in their arrangement. She wanted all the guys, yes, but she was scared of how they would be perceived. Constantly wondered why she couldn’t just choose one. She would say things like, “I’m so dumb” or “I’m such a how” and the boys would smirk their sexy smirk, say “I know.” or “A little” and start kissing her. WHAT?! I thought about this for days after and just kept getting more and more angry. Who says that to someone they ‘love’?! It didn’t seem to be in a joking manner, either. They just.. almost seemed like they were saying it to shut her up? I don’t know. I’m getting angry thinking about it again.

The romance scenes weren’t bad. They were spicy and well done. Like I said, that wasn’t the issue.

This is also an alternate universe for the author’s Gods and Monsters series. You don’t have to read that to understand this book. Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be picking it up.

This book was nothing like I imagined. I could not even finish this book. I didn't like the fmc at all. So hard to relate to and just in general like her character. I just thought this book sucked. I really tried to love it.

I have a confession - I've never read a reverse harem book before this one. I really liked everything about this! It was funny, the cast of characters were distinct, and most importantly of all, it scored extra high on the smut scale. I'm def going back to the authors other works now to see what other smutty delights she has in her back catalog!

Before I start this review let me state a few facts about Jane's Team... If you are not a fan of Reverse Harem romances where the woman is the main focus and she has a group of infatuated men surrounding her and doing all sorts of kinky shit to her, you are not going to like this novel. If you are opposed to high school romances with loads of scorching sexy time scenes, you are not going to like this novel.

Jane's Team by Janie Marie is a MATURE YA/NA novel. I'm fairly new to the Reverse Harem trope, So far I'm on the fence about whether I like this trope or not. I love the jealousy aspect, but I like a little realism to my romances and this trope tends to make the story lack something that I haven't quite figured out yet.

This novel jumps back and forth between Jane, Ryder, David, Luc, and Tercero's point of view. But mostly throughout the novel we are given Jane's point of view. This is one main element I loved about this novel. I loved being inside the guys' heads and getting their viewpoints, feeling their jealousy and their rage was exactly how I would imagine this type of trope turning out, especially given the fact that Jane's two leading men (Ryder and David) are complete enemies.

Throughout the novel a bond starts to take place between the men.. no not a kinky bond.... but a brotherhood. They set their jealousy aside and they play the role they are given. David is Jane's sun and her heart. Ryder is her moon and her soul. In a weird way the bond between the three is touching and tugged at my heartstrings.

And then you add in Luc (older brother to Ryder) and Tercero (younger brother to Ryder) and it's a complete cluster mess of kink and WTF moments...... Luc brought the dark and mystery to the relationship and Tercero brought the emotion to the table... I loved how Tercero was with Jane, let's talk about this latin lover. The way he spoke to her and the way he was with her made him one of my favorite characters in this novel... To be honest, I really wanted more one on one moments between these two.

Luc was an annoyance to me, I wanted to uncover more of this man... I wanted to see what makes him tic, why he's so controlling, and why he has this darkness surrounding around him. I wanted and needed more and because of this I couldn't connect with his character. He was just a kinky bastard hitching along for the ride.

This is such a confusing novel to digest and write a review for. On one hand I really enjoyed this novel. I mean, a person doesn't just sit there reading a novel for two days straight rueing the moments she has to put her kindle down so she can go to the restroom, cook dinner, and adult. But then on the other hand I was annoyed by a few aspects. First of all, I would have been a tad bit more comfortable if these 'High schoolers' were in college. Often at times I like to put myself in the characters shoes and I think *what would happen if I would have been in these situations when I was a kid or a teenager.* I'm telling you what, if my man would have talked to my daddy the way Ryder talked to Jane's stepdad.... There would be trouble and my man wouldn't be my man anymore. The disrespect really unhinged me. I didn't like the fact that the stepdad was painted in a bad light for half of this novel, he was just watching out for his daughter. He was doing what a father figure needs to do and protect her at all costs. I mean any normal father figure would freak the hell out over his daughter dating four guys at once. Shoot, I was scared to bring one guy home to meet my daddy.... you don't mess with a papa bear... that's for damn sure.

A lot of this story was a bit too far fetched for my liking. But I do have to say, I am intrigued by epilogue number two. It was interesting when all was said and done to realize this story was an alternate universe to her Gods & Monsters series. I think this is what intrigued me the most! I'm definitely going to have to check this series

Overall, This novel was an okay read. There were moments I loved and moments that made me cringe. The sexy time scenes were scorching hot and the characters were, for the most part, loveable. Jane's Team is an extremely long read though, so make sure you have time to read this one because once you start you aren't going to want to stop. Janie Marie has a way with words. She captured my attention from the beginning. I just needed a little bit more from Luc and bit less drama.

WOW!! I mean, just okay let’s get this all straight...
This book is not for the faint of heart by any means. It is not my usual read, however, I really did enjoy it! The relationships were well written and readers could see why Jane would have a connection to each love interest. I won’t like, I root for Ryder all day everyday. Some may not agree with me. That however, is the beauty of a reverse harem. There was a man for every type of reader!!! The book contains a lot of triggers, so I would warn readers about that. If you are not overly sensitive then this book is deeply layered and very tantalizing! The steamy scenes are each unique and well written, which is greatly appreciated. Some books don’t capture the different levels of intimacy, but Marie gave us all that and so much more.
I have not read the Gods and Monsters trilogy, but after meeting these characters it is on my TBR list.

I had a very tough time with this book. Coming from someone who enjoys reverse harem and lots of angst, I couldn’t get past the childish conversations and weird moments, like Ryder flipping between sweet and salty constantly.

I had a hard time believing that Jane would want to be with any of the boys in this book. In a word, they were jerks and I didn’t get to know their true personalities enough to really gun for anyone in particular.

The concepts behind this book intrigued me, but I think the execution kind of flopped. I probably won’t be reading anything by this author again.

I enjoyed reading this book. Thinking about it though I'm having trouble trying to decide what I want to say about the book. There wasn't really a big plot for this book, but the whole point of the story is that Jane has feelings for multiple guys and she's trying to figure out what she wants. I liked all of the characters, and the dynamics of their relationships. I liked the romance. I laughed so many times reading this book. I like how Jane actually struggled with her feelings and we got to see her struggle with her relationships. I loved Ryder's character, and his relationship with Jane was my favourite. If you're looking for a book to get sucked into and forget about what's going on outside of it, I would definitely recommend this one. It is a heavier kind of a book, however, not a light and fluffy contemporary.

I'm gonna to start by saying that this is a very lengthy book (over 500 pages.) It is very time consuming, so make sure you are prepared to invest much into it. While the main gist of the story is rather slow moving, there are plenty of happenings that take place. Definitely not a dull or boring story. Jane has fallen in love with more than one guy and now she has to choose between not one or two, but four men, who each hold a piece of her heart and have their own individual place in her life. Each guy is doing their best to win her over. There are lots of sweet and swoony moments. Plenty of sexy times (and oh yeah, all those sexy times are pretty steamy,) and some humor thrown into the mix. It's hard to explain the whole vibe of the book, because there are some darker elements (several which may be a trigger for sensitive readers,) but there is also a lightness about it. The boy's characters are fun to 'watch' especially when they are bantering with each other. The one bit that I didn't care for as much, is that Jane, while never having a boyfriends before all this, (though she had her eyes set on one particular boy,) seemed to be admired by pretty much every male that she came across. While she may have been beautiful, it seemed a little exaggerated how attracted everyone was to her. Her personality (while generally pleasant) didn't warrant such attention. (Not counting the boys in her harem.) As you may have guessed by the title, and despite being a High School romance, this is not PG. It is meant for mature readers.

This was my first book by Janie Marie. This book is pretty much told by Jane. She is falling for 4 boys. Ryder, David, Tercero and Luc. David is her stepbrother, but she was falling for him before their parents got married. Ryder is David's enemy but Jane has always had a crush on him. Tercero and Luc are Ryder's brothers. Tercero is quiet, but good with Jane. Luc is older than the rest and is more mature than the others.

This book is told by Jane, with a few chapters told by David/Ryder. I really wanted to like this book. However as Jane was trying to figure out which guy she liked she kept calling herself a whore and hoe. Her mother also called her a whore at one point. The four guys just went a long with it and didn't correct her. That bothered me a lot. Also the bonus epilogue I was like what the fluff? I had a hard time reading this book. I really wanted to like it, but I guess this one just wasn't for me.
