This was an enjoyable cozy mystery that kept me guessing all the way through!

When Charlene Morris takes her first weekend of Halloween guests on a ghost tour through Salem, Massachusetts, the last thing she expects to find is the dead body of a local witch. Because she is the one to find the body, Mrs. Morris is determined to help the police find the killer. With the help of her live-in ghost Jack and Detective Sam, will Mrs. Morris solve the mystery before it is too late?

This book was so much fun to read. I love the setting of Salem and Charlene's Bed and Breakfast. Charlene is such a great character and I love reading about her. I love all the characters around Salem, especially the detective. The mystery in this one definitely had me guessing throughout the whole book and took me by surprise at the end. The only problem I have is the potential ghost love interest. That storyline is just so unsatisfying to me. But this seems to be working itself out, so it won't keep me from continuing the series. I can't wait to read the next one!

Mrs. Morris and the Witch is the second in a series.. Mrs. Morris and the Ghost is the first. Charlene Morris can't seem to keep from stumbling upon murders after moving to Salem to open up a bed and breakfast. These cozy mysteries are well written and feature a lovable cast of characters. I would definitely recommend checking this series out.

Witches, ghosts and Salem, Massachusetts provide the backdrop to this charming and well-written mystery. Charlene Morris, recently widowed, has relocated from Chicago and opening weekend for her renovated B&B is, of course, Halloween. Besides offering an evening tour of the city to her very first guests, she joins them to learn more about her adopted city. Before returning to the bus, she returns to a glassblowing shop where she had ordered some gorgeous glass globes. Unfortunately, the proprietor, a witch called Morganna, was lying there dead. Full of witches, murder, adultery and a very special ghost who inhabits her B&B, the story moves along at a brisk pace. Charlene is a perfect heroine, smart and caring, who perhaps isn't quite cautious enough. But you'll love all the characters, townspeople and guests. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. How absolutely entertaining! Charlene Morris owns a B&B in Salem and has her own resident ghost. This is the second book in the series. These books are exceptionally well written with fabulous characters. Upon reading these books I feel like I am in Salem visiting all the sights described within. I hope there are many, many more books to come in this series. Highly recommended!! Enjoy! 📚

Halloween's a big deal in Salem and this is Charlene's first chance to show off her new B&B (and make some money). Unfortunately, Morganna, a local Wiccan, has been murdered. Charlene, however, has an unerring ability to sniff out clues and she's on the case! This, despite her love interest Sam's disapproval- he's a detective. The thing is, Charlene has a ghost named Jack resident at her place and he IS a fan of solving crime. It's an interesting issue- can you fall in love with a ghost to the detriment of the very real man in front of you? This never gets too woohoo, the characters are fun, and the setting is great. AND, you might learn a bit about Wicca. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Just right for the quarantine and fine any time.

The Second installment in the Salem B&B Mystery series is a hit! I loved the first book and was so excited to snag an early copy of this one and I wasn't disappointed! I hope Traci keeps the books coming because this is shaping up to be a new favorite series of mine!

Second in a series that will delight the fans of cozy mysteries with a touch of paranormal. A charming ghost, a independent strong main character makes this series a fun read.

A perfect cozy mystery for fall. Halloween, Salem, a bed and Breakfast...

Even though this is only the second Salem B&B Mystery by author Traci Wilton, it's fast becoming one of my fave series! I'm not normally a fan of paranormal mysteries, and it takes a really special one to catch my interest, but both Mrs. Morris and the Witch, and its predecessor, Mrs. Morris and the Ghost, have done just that!

In this story, it's Halloween and Charlene has her first set of guests staying at her B&B. When they encounter a murdered witch on their evening tour and one her guests is acting awfully suspicious, Charlene decides to investigate the local coven and see if she can figure out who killed the mysterious Morganna. Aided by her resident ghost, Jack, Charlene has her work cut out for her!

A very enjoyable read that kept me on my toes, and I look forward to more books in this series. 5 stars!!!

I'm a huge cozy fan, and this one hits all of my favorite things: ghosts, B&B's, and Halloween. Our protagonist Charlene has a friendly ghost by the name of Jack who (mostly) is a help to her. Charlene runs a B&B in Salem, Massachusetts, a location notorious for witchcraft and spooky things. As it's Halloween, Charlene decides to treat her guests to a tour of Salem. It made me wish I was there! Unfortunately for Charlene, a local Wiccan is found dead on her property, which is not so good for business. This book was a great showcase for Salem history and culture as well. This series is charming and I hope the author keeps writing them. I plan to keep reading them for sure!

A murder, a ghost, and witches all thrown together to make the perfect addition to this series! Everything about this story was amazing, the characters, the twists, the mystery. The way the character relationships progressed added so much to the overall amazing reading experience. I cannot wait to see what else the author has in store next for the characters.

Mrs. Morris and the Witch is the second book in this series. I didn’t read the first book, but the author gave enough backstory so I had a general grasp of what happened.

Charlene is hosting a Ghost Tour for her first guests on her first Halloween in her new B and B. After this outing, she and one of her guests finds a woman dead in her shop. When one of her guests in accused of the murder, she feels she needs to “help” the police find the real killer.

Along with her “ghost” houseguest, Jack and detective Sam Holden, she tries to get to the truth about who wanted the witch Morganna dead. The case takes Charlene in to the world of the Wicca and modern day witches. Into spells and the unexplainable. It’s quirky and a fun read.

The book isn’t crazy paced and not full of lots subplots. It’s easy to keep all the players separate. I really like that because I really don’t like having to keep flipping back to see who’s sho all the time. It kept me interested in reading it to the end.

There were a couple of things that I found kind of odd. Her relationship with Sam Holden is supposed to be platonic and yet he “kisses the top of her head” or “brushes her cheek” like a love interest would. That to me was a bit creepy. Either put them into a relationship or stop with the touchy feely stuff. Also, she has feeling for Jack, the ghost. Um, come on, he’s a ghost and there can be nothing there. I think I would’ve liked it better if they were more antagonistic to one another rather than kind of in a relationship. I’d like to see more fiery sparks between those two and not the “love” kind.

All in all, it was a good read and I’d definitely recommend it to people that like cozy mysteries. I’d like to read the first book and I’ll probably read the series because I genuinely liked the characters. I’d like to see where this author takes them.

This is the second book in the Mrs. Morris Salem B&B series by Traci Wilton. It centers around Halloween in Salem and the first few weeks of Charlene's B&B being open. I enjoyed the setting and premise of a haunted B&B while reading book one of the series, so I was very much looking forward to this installment.

Charlene is hosting her first round of guests during the busy Halloween time in Salem. On a outing on Halloween night she stumbles across a dead woman in a Salem shop and is dragged into the mystery when one of her guests is connected to the murder. Charlene tries to get to the bottom of why this woman was killed, even though her friend and detective Sam would prefer she stay out of it and be safe. Her resident ghost Jack is also concerned for her safety and wants nothing more then to protect Charlene.

The investigation leads Charlene into the world of the local Wiccans and she learns all about the modern witched living in Salem. I found the book, intriguing, suspenseful and I loved the witchy elements. I enjoyed it even more than book one and I can't wait to see how the relationships in Charlene's life develop and how her business grows.

A great cozy mystery!

Linda's Book Obsession Review "Mrs. Morris and the Witch" by Traci Wilton, Kensington Mystery, April 28, 2020

Traci Wilton, Author (Traci Hall and Patrice Wilton) have written a suspenseful, entertaining, and intriguing novel. This is the second in the "Salem B & B Mystery)" series, but can be read alone. Of course, reading both is even better. The Genres for this story are Cozy Mystery, Ghost Story, and Fiction. The story takes place around Halloween in Salem, Massachusetts. The setting is in the present and goes to the past when it pertains to the characters or events in the story.  The authors describe their characters as complex, and complicated. Some are quirky, and most are likable. This is a delightful and easy read, especially in trying times.

Charlene is the owner of a Bed & Bath in Salem and has also inherited the resourceful, intelligent and handsome ghost, Jack, who is part of the house. Only Charlene can actually see and hear Jack, and her cat senses that he is around. Of course, Jack can be mischievous and does cause slight problems for Charlene. Charlene is a widow, and her business is taking off nicely. This year for Halloween, Charlene is gifting her clients a bus tour around Salem and the holiday festivities. Many witches can be seen, and the retail stores also hold the interest of the visitors.

Unfortunately, a local Wiccan is found dead in her shop, after the group has visited her.  Sam, a detective, and " a friend" of Charlene's mentions that all clues lead to one of the visitors that was on the tour. Charlene can't believe that this is possible, and is determined to discover what is going on.

I found the Wiccans interesting, as well as the herbs and spells discussed. I would highly recommend this cozy mystery.

This is the second installment in this great series by Traci Wilton.
Charlene Morris is a fun character, and the setting in Salem, MA makes it even better.
Charlene has a full house due to Halloween, which is exciting for the new B & B owner, but when she discovers the body of a shop owner, it seems everyone had a reason to be a suspect.
With the help of her ghostly house guest, Jack, Charlene begins to ask questions, and some people want her to mind her own business.
Before long, Charlene begins to uncover some odd details surrounding a missing Book of Shadows and the Wiccan community.

This book will keep the reader guessing until the end.

This is the 2nd installment of the Salem B&B mystery series. Charlene Morris moved to Salem from Chicago several months ago and has just opened her new B&B and it is Halloween weekend. Halloween night she has arranged a special treat for her first houseful of guests, her friend Kevin has gotten a bus for a tour of Salem and the old cemetery. They start at a part of town they can do some quick shopping and then proceed on a walking tour of Salem. At their first stop Charlene and some of her guests stop in at a store with a witch named Morganna who is going to make some “witches orbs” for Charlene. When Charlene and her group come back to the bus she is surprised Morganna’s shop is closed but upon looking closer they see feet and break in and find Morganna dead. Sam, the handsome detective, comes the next morning to interview her guests as to what they might have seen and one her guests is considered a suspect and she cannot believe it. Against Sam’s advice, Charlene begins to investigate and learns a lot about the Wiccan community in Salem. Charlene feeds information to Sam and he is also looking out for her and they ultimately get to the bottom of the murder. Jack our ghost is also ever present in Charlene’s life and he works to save her from a kidnapping and helps Sam save her with the strength he has at the house. This is a good solid mystery that was very interesting and learning more and more about the Salem area. Looking forward to the next installment. Definitely recommend.
